This is a report detailing the process, regulations, scope of work and other logistics that will be
applied to safely relocate a four bedroom house from Unitec to property number 2, Te Arai road,
Weilford, Northland. The relocation contract has been given to our company The Unique
Transport Limited (UTL) by Unitec Institute of technology. As the operations transport manager
I have developed a plan for the relocation ensuring that I factor in every component of the whole
process which I will present to the management team. The report comprises the most suitable
vehicle for the relocation, the regulations the vehicle needs to comply with when using public
roads, how financial risks will be mitigated, the number of personnel that will be involved in the
process, the process prior to dispatching our team and the permits required for the relocation.

four bedroom building is over 40m2. The rules are as explained below:
There must be a Building Relocation Inspection Report to accompany the application for
a building consent. This report shall be prepared by one of the following:
a. A New Zealand instate of Building Surveyors member.
b. A building practitioner who is licensed.
c. An inspector of buildings from the local departure authority (Walcott, 2008).
All required maintenance and repairs which have been documented in the report must be
completed within six months after relocation.
The owner of the site to which the building is to be relocated in this case the Unitec
Institute of technology’s customer must provide a signed declaration to the authorities
that the reinstatement work authorized by the Building Relocation Inspection will be
accomplished within six months after the building has been delivered to property number
2, Te Arai road, Weilford, Northland (Glavovic & Bercker, 2010).

the terrain of the route through which the relocation will be made. Since the route is quite steep a
large engine must be employed thus the most suitable engine class for this process is the Muck
truck engine.
Steerable Quad Axle
A large steerable quad axle will be attached to the Muck truck. The building will be put on the
