Introduction
Engaging the learners is important in order to enhance their overall experience in an
efficient manner. In the given scenario, I am working as a trainee teacher on DET course. The
report will cover planning and designing of resources to fulfill the requirements of learners
during the learning program. Further, it will include the development of advance technological
resources to improve the overall learning experience. Additionally, my strengths and a suitable
action plan for future improvement has also been covered in the assignment.
TASK A
1.1Purpose of resources in teaching and learning
In education, learning resources are important in order to enhance the knowledge and
skills of the learners. These resources are videos, whiteboards, power point text, software and
more. These resources are utilized in academic setting and also provide opportunities to the
students to grow and explore in their career. In addition, they can resolve the issues
collaboratively in an efficient manner. The major role of resources is to offer a source of learning
experience for the learners in order to assist them in the process of interaction between teachers
and learners (Liu and et. al., 2018). On the top of that, it helps the students to learn and enhance
their overall experience & fulfilling different learning needs. The main aim of designing learning
resources is to facilitate learning and knowledge sharing among the students. In addition to this,
it allows the learners to understand the concept in an effective manner so that they can grow and
succeed in their career. Further, the learning resources are helpful in making the entire learning
process more interactive and collaborative to get positive outcomes in the future period of time.
1.2 Evaluate the effectiveness of specific resources to fulfill individual learning needs in context
of teaching and learning
My specialized area is teaching where I have the capability to enhance the skills and
knowledge of learners on DET course. The resources played an important role during the overall
learning process. These resources played an important role in fulfilling the needs & requirements
of learners. Here, the resourced used by me were specifically designed as per the requirements of
the students so that they can learn the concept in an efficient manner. Rather than using the

resources based on general perception, I utilized resources based on inclusive learning practices.
Several resources were used by me to ensure that learners can get maximum potential in their
learning activities. In the learning environment, I used whiteboard, text, PPT presentations,
worksheets and hand-outs. During the learning process, I aimed to provide maximum benefits to
each and every learner out of the available resources. In this context, PPT presentation helped me
in gaining the attention of the students. In addition, the learners can understand the topics and
concept from the available text book. By using interactive whiteboards, I ensure to keep my
learners engage and focused. Worksheets provided to the learners is one of the effective ways to
evaluate the knowledge and skills of the learners, they developed throughout the course.
2.1 An analysis of the principle of resource design
Principles of resource design are considered an essential part of learning and teaching.
These principles are utilized to fulfill the learning needs and requirements of the students. It is
possible to develop such principles using various styles of learning. In this context the major
principles are outlined below:
Meeting learning needs: Every learner has different requirements hence it is vital for
the teacher to understand the needs of the students. Here, they are required to fulfill the needs of
every learner in order to make the overall learning a better and effective experience (Innes and
Calleja, 2018).
Positive contribution to consolidating learning: Consolidate learning is an appropriate
way to enforce the learned information and ensure that no student left uncertain during the
learning process. Being a teacher, it provides opportunity to clarify different aspects of lesson,
answer the questions of the students and review the lesson objectives.
Learning styles: There are different kinds of learning styles which can be used to
enhance the overall learning and experience of the learners. In this context, it is possible to use
video, pictures, graphics and more. In context of auditory, it includes discussion, clear
instructions, information gap and so on (Amorim and et. al., 2018).
Inclusivity: According to this principle, every student has right to learn and grow.
During the student progress, each student and parents need to get access of accurate information

2.2 An evaluation of sources that inform resource development
It is used in order to analyze the existence of suitable practices with the assistance and
support of colleagues and peers. In my case, informal and formal, both sources are used to
evaluate resource development in the specialized area. For this purpose, I encouraged the
students to make use of library resources wherein the students can be benefitted from variety of
sources such as newspaper, books, magazines and more. In addition to this, internet resources
were also used to inform the students with the vast information of the subject area. However,
internet sources can also proved barrier in terms of cost as the individuals are required to go for
the premium tools in order to gather in-depth and detailed information. Being a teacher, I can
achieve the credibility by demonstrating the necessary skills and knowledge. Therefore, it is
important to get associate with other subject specialist. By this way, students will get access of
wider knowledge and learning that will contribute in their career growth and progress efficiently.
In addition to this, I keep proper contact with the professional bodies to get necessary
information to handle and prevent the issues appropriately in order to make the students able to
attain success in professional career.
2.3 An analysis how theories, models and principles of inclusive curriculum design can be used
to inform resource development
All the resources developed by me were as per the theories and models of inclusive
curriculum. In this context, I ensure to address the different levels of the needs by implementing
the Maslow’s hierarchy. This model will help the students to understand the needs and
requirements of different individuals. It will assist them in making suitable strategies in order to
resolve the issue while working on the practical aspect. Here, Maslow’s need hierarchy is
divided in two different categories which are social and basic needs. In social needs, the needs of
love, self-actualization, belonging, esteem are included whereas the basic needs are about
fulfillment of basic requirements such as psychological needs, safety, security and more.
Kolb’s model is the cycle of experimental learning which consist of the steps such as
action, reflection, conceptualization and application. It generally depends upon the experience of
learners. Basically, it depends on how much experience the learners have gathered from the
insight, they have been gathered throughout the training process. In case of reflection, the
observation is based on the assessment of the outcomes and behavior (Kehoe and Collins, 2017).

Additionally, conceptualization is about get the feeling in order to understand the reason why
something is happening. The last process of the model is reinforcement where the learning is
implemented in the real context.
2.4) Analyze the ways in which resources can be adopted to enable inclusive learning
In education setting, there are several learners learn together. They have different
knowledge, skills and ability to understand. In this context, it is required to utilize different
resources in order to make improve overall learning experience. For this purpose, I am looking
forward to use large fonts, color filters and more so that all the students can understand the
concept collaboratively which will lead them towards the career growth and enhancement.

In the given scenario, I am using ample of resources so that the students get the
opportunity to learn more. For this purpose, whiteboard, text, PPT and other such resources will
be used. These resources are efficient and provide opportunity to fulfill the needs and
requirements of the learners. In my specialized area, with implementation of effective resources,
I will be able to understand the learning needs and requirements of the students that is important
to fulfill their learning needs in an efficient manner. In addition to this, the use of other resources
such as internet and more will make me able to provide vast knowledge and information to the
students so that they can grow and attain success in the respective field.

3.1 Explain the ways to classify and store the resources
For using the resources in longer run, it is important to maintain a proper management
system of records, material, resources, information and more. It is important to restore the
resources in order to minimize the pressure and maintain a suitable level of workload to maintain
proper communication with stakeholders. It is imperative to maintain appropriate catalogue to
provide the opportunities to the users to track the records easily in order to find out the details for
which they are looking in the E-library. There is requirement to use intranet system to run these

services so that the information can be easily evaluate and monitor efficiently. In the next step,
there is requirement of clear and logical classification system to retrieve the information.
Additionally, there is requirement to maintain an appropriate structure which needs to highlight
the nature of records, factors to be considered and more (Tafti, Mahmoudsalehi and Amiri,
2017). A suitable storage promotes the efficiency and minimize the risk of data hamper. For this
purpose, data protection act is implemented so that the information can be kept secure from the
unauthorized users. To access the information from E-library and other such sources, the
students are required to have their own ID and password which minimizes the probability of
cyber attack. In addition to this, the resource can be stored by using hardcopy or electronic
platforms. VLE platform with strict restrictions on the open access can be used for this purpose.
Here, it is easy to protect the information by storing it in an appropriate way.
3. 2 Ways to sharing resourced with other professionals
In learning environment, it is quite difficult to manage the entire process individually.
Hence, it is imperative to take the help of other professionals so that the learners can also enjoy
great learning experience. With the assistance and support of professionals, it is easy to maintain
the resources appropriately. In this context, the ways to sharing the resources are mentioned
below:
Standardization of course material: By standardizing the learning material, it is
possible to share the information with others. Here, different stakeholders such as teachers, staff
and others can interpret and follow the requirements of the program in an efficient manner. It
brings uniformity in the entire process or operations within the environment (Harden and
Laidlaw, 2020).
Case meetings: During the case meetings, different professionals such as teachers, staff
and others stakeholders discuss their point of view on a particular aspect which is important in
order to develop a new concept. In case meetings, it is possible to share the resources with other
professionals so that they get the idea regarding the curriculum and the progress of the learners
during the entire program.
Staff development: Staff development is important in order to improve their overall

Health and safety: This act was formulated in the year of 1974 which ensure the
occupational health and safety of the workers at workplace. It basically sets the general duties of
an employer towards the employees while they are working in the organization. The main aim of
this legislation is to ensure the well-being of the employees while they work in a particular
company. Every company is responsible to protect its workforce (Li and et. al., 2020). By
following the necessary health and safety regulations, it is possible to provide a safeguarding and
protected environment to the employees.
Data protection: This act is followed to ensure the safety of data in learning
environment. By implementing the data protection act 1998, it is ensured that the data is used
fairly, lawfully, for specific purpose. In addition to this, the data needs to be accurate and handles
efficiently to keep the information safe and secure. With this, strict legal protection is imposed
on the data and information to protect it from the unauthorized users.
Single Equity: It identifies the legal responsibilities which have been set by the equality

manner. In the given context, it is ensured that all the individuals are well-familiar with the
contractual obligations in relation to the material and resources used during the particular period
of time. For this purpose, it is ensured all the staff members follow the rules of data protection
act in an appropriate way (Branch, 2018). There is strict rules regarding the copying and using
the creation of some other person. These strict copyright and intellectual property rights help me
to develop and protect the resources in an efficient manner.
TASK C
2.5) Design resources including new and emerging technologies to engage and fulfill the needs
of learners
In the present time, the use of technology has increased in different fields. Education is
also such a field where efficient and advance techniques are used in order to enhance the
engagement of learners. These technologies are helpful to provide the better and effective
experience to the students. In addition to this, the teachers can also easily interact with the
learners by using such advance and effective techniques.
iPads: nowadays, the classroom cannot be imagines without ipads. It is a personal device
which is used and control by the learners. However, there is requirement of high speed of
internet in order to make the use of virtual learning platforms (AbdelRahman and Arafat, 2020).

To meet the needs of the learners, I used iPad to take the sessions. Here, I used to take live
sessions where students can raise their queries and get the query resolve in timely manner.
PPT: New emerging technologies have been introduced a new form of teaching and
learning by using the Microsoft tools. Power point presentation is a well-known tool of
Microsoft office which allows the users to make a complete series of slides to enhance the
knowledge and skills of the students (Hall, 2019). I also used PPT to make the classroom
sessions more interactive and engaging for the learners.
2.6) Employ resources to engage as well as meet the needs of individuals in own specialist area
In the give scenario, I am working as a trainee teacher on DET course. I have the
capability to understand the needs and requirements of the learners in order to provide them the
best possible assistance. For this purpose, I take the sessions using different resources to provide
necessary support and guidance to the students. Here, different resources make myself enable to
interact with the students and resolve their queries efficiently. In this regard, I used different
resources such as Ipad, mobile and more. Use of digital resources is important to develop an
interactive learning environment. Here, digital resources can be made more functional and
reliable that will allow the learners to learn inclusively. In addition, functional technology is
offered ample of extension activities to the learners so that they can collaborate with the class.
With digital learning students can also take part in different activities. It is useful for the weak
students as they get the opportunity to learn from others in an appropriate way. Eventually, this
practice reduces down the workload of the teacher. In addition to this, I also used PPT
presentations so that the learners can get detailed knowledge and understanding of a particular
concept. By the use of PPT presentation, it is possible for me to make the students understand the
entire concept appropriately so that they can enrich in career in an efficient manner.
