Generally, a goal without a plan is always a wish, and I don't consider myself as a
wisher at this time, but always a person of a positive approach in my studies (Bodnar &
Hopwood,2012).It had been a long journey whereby have studied in Australian Catholic
University (North Sydney campus) and I passed well. At first, I did an English in the
university having completed 18 units in the field and I performed to my best whereby I was a
granted a direct entry to enrol diploma in commerce. Now am pursuing a bachelor of
commerce majorly accounting since 2015 and have decided to change from the university to
join the University of Tasmania in Hobert campus come next February session.
Since 2015 have been working hard in my studies in order to accomplish my academic goals
as an accountant in the future. The university gave me adequate foundations to develop my
goals. My goals as an accountant in the future are; understanding the entire concept of cost-
effective so as to grasp apt skills needed in saving cost within firms. Secondly, is on the
aspect of timeliness as an accountant in an organization. The other goal as an accountant is
being informative in the sense that have been working in my academics to understand criteria
used when communicating to subordinates within the firm. My last and key goal is
appreciating an aspect of reliability whereby I want to be an apt leader who can be able to
provide information free from bias when I will be an accountant (Bodnar & Hopwood, 2012).
However, my dream to be an accountant in the future has not been well achieved in
Australian Catholic University and that's why have decided to move to the University of
Tasmania in Hobert campus. Have done a lot of accounting units in the university and to my
sense, I believe they are not giving appropriate information relevant to my goals as an
accountant. The university has not been giving practical concepts related to accounting and
thus weakening my future goals. I have been handling theoretical concepts since I joined the
university. Also, we have been learning shallow concepts which to me I believe they are not

relevant to my dream. My hope is to be equipped with adequate skills to solve technical
concepts in the field of commerce and that's have decided to join the University of Tasmania
to achieve my career.
In addition as an accountant, I fully understand the importance of accounting and its
relevance to the modern world (Schaltegger & Burritt,2017).Due to this, I have been in a
position to come up with strategies that will assist me in achieving my goals. Joining the
University of Tasmania means that I have a good hope in career and therefore it's my
mandate to work hard. I have tried to come up with skills of handling accounting reports and
I believe this will help me achieve the goal of cost-effective. Also understanding the rules of
handling income statement, balance sheets and also the statement of cash flows will assist me
so much in achieving the goal of reliability in any firm. Also, I really enjoy working in
groups and I hope this character will help me to be informative as an accountant and thus I
believe I will be equipped fully before am through with my study. Therefore, I believe
transferring to the University of Tasmania I will be able to meet new opportunities that will
aid in preparing success in my future
