REFLECTION REPORT
Description
Consider the case study of Asos in UK, I have considered the selected the research
project about the management of ecommerce business by Asos to expand its business locally
as well as globally. The entire project comprised of three major sections including the
presentation, project plan and literature review, which were required to provide answers to
the questions associated with the management of ecommerce business managed by Asos, UK.
Not only it is my responsibility to conduct research on Asos’s ecommerce business and its
success, but also check for the various approaches undertaken by Ass to acquire success in
business (Marjanovic, Hanney and Wooding 2009). All my project team members helped me
a lot to make sure that the project is successfully done and proper answers to the research
questions are acquired in no time. There were few limitations of budget and time though,
which created some difficulty in carrying out the literature review in detailed manner (Owen
et al. 2013).
Feelings
During the research project, my feelings were mixed as sometimes I felt quite
enthusiastic while at times, I was totally distressed as setting up a proper research project plan
was quite difficult as it took a lot of time as well. I though focused on rigorous collection of
appropriate data and information, which was also accompanied by support and help from the
respondents who were considered as samples during the research. Moreover, the other people
were somewhat not informed about it previously, but I made sure to inform them and
acknowledge them about its purpose so that they could provide their responses considered as
important data and information properly (Begley and Branson 2007). Other people were not
found at the same time and place, which also created some difficulty to acquire relevant data

and information during the research project. At times, I thought of giving up but I made sure
to complete everything properly and then was qite satisfied with my work ultimately.
Evaluation
I have learned a lot while undergoing the research project not just because of the skills
and knowledge that I have acquired, but also the communication that I did in my project team
members, which helped me a lot to complete the research project. This went very much well
as the help and support by the project team members allowed me to collect data and
information quite easily. One of the major things that did not go well while working on the
project was the analysis of data, which was not done properly due to lack of accurate and
authenticate data and information (Antwi and Hamza 2015). The project team members
supported me by allowing to collect data and information from the respondents while the
respondents bothered to share their respective responses in the form of survey where the
questionnaires were distributed to them. Though, the analysis was not satisfactory, so I
managed to do it again, still my efforts were not into vain as the final results on the basis of
analysis were noteworthy and accurate considering the research done here (Wilson et al.
2013).
Analysis
The analysis of data and information was done accurately because the data and
information gathered had been authentic and accurate. It helped me to bring good outcomes
and my efforts brought success though the thing that did not go well was the difficulty in
collecting the data and information in the form of responses from the clients (Boogaard et al.
2013). The things went well because not only the respondents, once informed about the
purpose of research, willingly decided to participate and provide their responses, but also the
literature review section has been prepared by assessing relevant journals, article and website

related information, most of which, were genuine and authentic. Also the easy findings of
data and information comprising the literature review section helped me to match my
strengths and sharpen my skills to gain in-depth knowledge of the reality aspects too. By
analysing the different secondary sources of data and information, I also managed to save a
lot of time and cost, which though was not compromised anyhow for the quality and
effectiveness of the research project though (Lamb 2013). Also by working with different
research project members, I gathered necessary skills about communication, which enhanced
my ability and knowledge to deal with situations in a better way and prevent redundancies
and issues that might be experienced while working on a research project (Mayordomo and
Onrubia 2015).
Conclusion
The reflection part of the assignment helped me to present my own experience while
working on a project associated with the management of ecommerce platform managed by
Asos in UK to extend its business operations, both offline as well as online. While working
on the project, I learned the importance of coordination with the project team members and
also got sufficient support and help, which helped me to work with the team memebrs and
also lead them towards the right direction. Moreover, I also learned from the situation about
how to collect data and how analysis play a major role in the accomplishment of research
project and to gather proper research findings too.
Action plan
The action plan of a research project has been prepared by me to make sure that the
research is done properly with all the major steps followed properly. I communicated with the
project team members and managed to work as an ice breaker so as to make the team
memebrs believe that they are equally responsible for working on the project. On the other

hand, I was quite confident with the way I was progressing, so I managed to allocate the right
tasks to the right individuals based on their skills and areas of expertise. Also during critical
tasks, I made sure to acquire their vital ideas, opinions and responses, which also favoured
me to make decisions and at the same time, allow for group thinking ability to accomplish the
task correctly and ethically too. I also made sure to follow the research values and ethics such
as by preventing disclosure of confidential information and also making sure to prevent any
redundancy of data and information too. This further helped in maintaining the validity and
reliability of the research too.
