Outline objectives of project and specify whether it was achieved or not
Every project is initiated on basis of certain objectives which are defined by stakeholders. The
needs are analyzed and then objectives are frameed. Similarly, for a university a project was
undertaken of developing a software. Here, the main objective was to record attendance of
students in biometric way so that it is easy to maintain record. Another objective was to
transform and match attendance with student card. This was done to modify way of attendance
taking and making it a centralized way. Along with it, project objective was to develop such a
software for classroom that it becomes easy for university to record student attendance.
Thus, with help of it technological advancement was done in university. So, for all of it
project was undertaken. This was one of the greater advancement that aids to keep up each little
detail of the university. In addition to this, university management can easily work as to track the
students absent for that particular day from the biometric data and send an SMS to the parents
notifying the same. Therefore, this can be state that biometric integration in universities assist to
eliminates hours of payroll calculations, removes buddy punching, reports the employee
attendance to Payroll & HR with accuracy and others. Also, biometric systems can be connected
to power or systems. This is the technology enhancement, biometric attendance systems that are
available which are not dedicated to any specific system. With the use of the biometric
integration in universities is either Wi-Fi based or SIM based and data can be transferred to the
server using the internet. This kind of the technological advancement aids to do the things in
proper and efficient mode.
It is necessary to identify that whether Project objectives are attained or not. This is done by
comparing outcomes with set goals and evaluating it. Moreover, it has been determined that
project objective was achieved. The software was developed and installed in classroom to
maintain and record attendance of students with their card. It enabled in keeping records and
generating report on monthly basis. This is also time saving process for the universities as this
aids to maintain the whole things in effectively and efficiently. Thus, no further things are
required to be undertaken to maintain the attendance process. Moreover, there was one objective
which was not achieved. It was of centralized software. This is because for it there is install some
advance system and server. Alongside, it requires testing of server and software that whether
attendance data is properly stored or not. Besides, there is need to design a network and connect

it with software. In this it requires a proper and effective planning that in what form data will be
stored, how database will work, etc therefore, only software of classroom attendance was
developed. In the university the one of the biggest challenge was to report the attendance timing
of staff. With the use of the biometric system this can be possible to accurately records
employees’ arrival and exit times and this can be beneficial to record the employee can be paid
accordingly. However, this can be stated that reduction in overpayments termed out as one of the
huge cost saving that supports to undertaking measurements for the businesses.

A project is undertaken to provide some benefit or to solve a problem. Basically, the
benefits are evaluated on basis of project objective and end outcomes that is by comparing
results with goals. Similarly, in software development project there were certain benefits which
were achieved. First is that now attendance is biometric done which means with student card
attendance is punch and recorded. So, it has reduced the manual work and now all data is
automatically recorded and saved. Thus, it has led to save of time as well as cost of maintaining
of student attendance. Another benefit of software will provide accurate data and record of each
student, class and day. Thus, on basis of it montly report and performance of student is obtained.
Also, software has benefited university to maintain smooth flow of attendance. Therefore, these
all benefit was expected. It has led to bringing efficiency in university operation. Besides,
automatic verification of student in Done in effective way. In addition to it, unexpected benefit
of software is that there is parents and teachers are able to log in and get student details easily.
Furthermore, data is stored and accessed by university in effective way. Thus, with it cost of
maintaining of data is reduced. So, these are benefit achieve of project. Also, biometric machine
also has helped to increase the security, reduce the risk and make all things safer for collecting
data in university. Using machine learning, researchers created a set of incredibly accurate
“Master Prints,” synthetic fingerprints with the ability to match to numerous real fingerprints and
undermine the security of biometric scanners. This is the advancement that helped to streamlined
the overall operational activities.
In contrast to passwords, badges, or documents, biometric data cannot be elapsed,
swapped, stolen, or copied. In this modern era, the most of the universities are equipped with
technology in every corner and this ensure minimum human effort. Biometrics is one such
technical advancement integration for classroom that aids to track attendance with minimal

effort. In addition to this, tracking attendance of student or staff is the biggest challenge so
implementation of this software has helped a lot to create and collect the data information
effectively. There are still some universities that enter the attendance in registers for both
sessions in the day and save the data manually. Henceforth, this was the main drawback of this
traditional attendance system as this has no transparency of data. In order to ascertain the
attendance this is crucial to tracking with increased processing speed and flexibility. In addition
to this, Automatic Display supports to the system that will automatically show the staff punch
timings for that specific day and also separates the data as per the rules set for permissions.
Did the project stay within its original scope?
The whole project went so well and this also helps the university to get the record of each
students. This was the software tool firstly it was hard for some staff to operate it. After the
appointment of one technical staff, this problem also gets sorted. To bring this software and to
offer training of this advancement one budget was assumed. Therefore, all activities are
undertaking with set budget. Therefore, these all benefit was expected. It has led to bringing
efficiency in university operation and also assist to record each data of student. Thus, main
purpose of this implementation is to gain the trust of parents and to develop the reputation of the
university. This helps to get the things in efficient and proficient mode. For undertaking the
changes, I have set the project timescale so that things can be done within the set deadline. This
is the thing that aids to cope up with the hustle and bustle of all over the things in university.
However, the success of the project gets determine with help of undertaking deviation among
actual and planned performance. If there is any deviation between it than controlling actions has
been taken that has developed this software effectively. It leads to undertake the task
proficiently.
Define the changes that were made in the run up to completion of project.
If the university uses the Biometric with Access Control, then this is impossible to
change any log report or data related to access. In addition to this, Biometric device can be used
with attendance management devices and modify the data but still that all of the modification
will be registered with details such as the Admin user name, who made modification, time of
modification, date of modification etc. This changes were needed to be made in order to
undertake all the things in proper manner. Thus, this all kind of the changes has helped me to
undertake the project successfully. It helps me to lead the things in proper mode. Hence,

biometric scanners can help to undertake the investigation about the fraud in testing centres and
prevent cheating, while webcam proctoring can be used in online programs.
Summarize the lesson learnt during the project.
In the project activity I have learnt so many things and this has helped me to undertake
the things in effective and efficient mode. To undertake the activities in the effective way, I have
built the team so that we can able to carry out the implementation process of this project
successfully in the university. Also, this has helped me to know about technical efficiency.
Therefore, I have defined the uses of biometric machine to management authorities in the
university and this has helped to all to conduct each activity effectively.
