Reasons for which students or young people choose for going to university
At a point of time in school lives of students they faced with one important question that
whether they need to go to the university or not. Some students decide for not going as they may
think that the higher studies or education is not essential for them as they might be having
something useful to do. On the other side, students decide for going to university for developing
their academic and intellectual skills. Such students think that it seems as worth spending for
studying in university. Young people decide for taking higher education at university because of
several reasons that includes academic interest, social life and the future career.
Some young people choose to go in university for improving their social life by making
friends and enjoying the life could be seen as sufficient reason to go for studying in university
for long years. In the universities, students get chance to connect with the people who come from
the diverse culture and backgrounds. This would benefit them in preparing the person for
becoming as the productive individual of the community (Jones, Green and Higson, 2017). It
could also teach them to cooperate, creating network and be as more open-minded. Addition to
it, universities might have wide variety of the clubs, sports team, social awareness team and
hobby groups. By joining such group, young people could spend time with the people who are
having interest in similar fields. Thus, universities is the place where they meet different people
and embrace relationships which in turn provide them new opportunities in doing the work or job
in the future.
The other reason to go in the university is that the college education often-times results to
developing skills and better career opportunities for future. In most of the countries, organization
intends to hire the university graduates for filling the positions that has higher pay and the great
responsibility like supervisors, managers etc. Along with this, some universities facilitates
students with a great opportunity in acquiring their practical skills which could be useful in real
world. For instance- They offer the courses in the data processing, accounting, foreign
languages and internship programs within which the students could experience to work in firm
and in learning the business skills (Prayuda and Nurdin, 2018). Thus, development of practical
skills would bring the people to grab more employment opportunities in future periods.
Moreover, students attend the university for studying specific subject in detail which
helps in gaining their academic interest. For example- people who have an interest in the politics
can attain major in the political science and take the courses relating to political system,

comparative politics and other particular topics. Such curriculums, facilities and courses helps
the student in pursuing their academic related goals in field of their own choice and this deemed
as one of the major reason they opt to study in university.
