REFLECTIVE ESSAY
Communication is an essential and important part of everyday life of an individual from the very
beginning of their lives from a toddler to an old age person. Communication is a tool which helps
individuals, kids, students, professional and old aged person to interact with others and more
importantly their point of views, opinions or intentions and messages to the other person or to the
group of individuals. Communication plays a very essential and significant role in the day to day
lives of human beings and extensively used in many different professions which is the main
motive and goal of human beings to be successful and potential in there professional life.
Communication is denoted as any behaviour that results in an exchange of information which is
meaningful and holds appropriate message behind it. Communication can take place in various
different ways which are divided into two categories formal and informal. Effective
communication is a concept which states that and interaction is taking place for a particular
purpose and a symbolic interchange which is being conducted in order to result in a workable
understanding and agreement between the parties involved in interaction that are senders and
receivers. As a student I have learnt several different skills and abilities from the module and
also develop to a long gown and long lasting abilities in myself which will help me in my
personal and professional life. Communication is one of the biggest tool and a skill which is
required by a professional for effective performance and also one is the mandatory skill which is
searched by employer’s in their employees. Therefore, one is the most efficient capability which
I received from are course work and this module is of communication skills. Communication is a
vital life skill professionally, socially, intellectually, academically and personally. One of the
greatest lesson which I learn from communication skill module is if I am the recipient that means
listening carefully to the information and to the message the sender is trying to convey is very
important task. Because then I have to check that if I have understood the information properly
or not and accordingly reflect back for better understanding or in respect to answer the sandal
ensuring that both the parties have gained the same level of understanding according to the
information exchanged. Another very important learning which I received from our module is
about the kind of speaker I am. There are basically four type of speakers that are avoider,
register, accepter and seeker. I am a seeker that means I always look for different opportunities
and possibilities in which I can speak and get a potential chance to communicate with others. For
me as a seeker speaker anxiety is a motivating factor that stimulate me with fuse and enthusiasm

being effective communicator and nonverbal communication includes listening and the west
writing skills for exchanging the message in the most potential way. Therefore with this module
and during my University course I have learned and developed a very important employable
skills which is considered as transferable skill also is off effective communication and
presentation in front of others along with it I want to develop an understanding about myself and
my speaking abilities and my speaking power that is I am a seeker and boost my self confidence
with anxiety levels that I feel while presenting in front of others. In future the challenges and
expectation of a University course which I am receiving is also going to increase where I need
more and efficient skills which will allow me to be more efficient and then better outcomes from
my studies and understanding of different development and learning from several models present
in the course work. I will be facing many challenges in my University course and in different
models because there are several skills which are required buy me to perform my best in
different levels of University. These skills include reflective skill, punctuation, SMART goal,
reflective writing, reading skill, writing skills and academic writing. All these skills are
transferable skills which are potentially seeked by employer’s in their employees while working
in their organisation. Therefore this is a challenge in front of me while learning and developing
understanding in my University course work because for being employable and for being very
effective and potential in my professional life I need to be very e well prepared and developed
