The main and the biggest impact that an universities have on local economy of the city is by the
establishment of an institution it attract more people to employ, it isn't the only benefit for the
university but for the people as well. Universities supports job by their purchases of services and
goods for the development of the university (Cavallo and Forman, 2020) . By establishment , it
needs all the manpower to make and generate effective output to run an university successfully
and to increase its productivity , through this process it create job in many sectors such as
education, technical, maintenance and much more.
Cost that involved in the project
Establishing a university involves a huge cost in building it and by running it as per the rules
and set standards. The university construction makes a substantial economic impact because the
funding source is mostly external. The cost involves in establishment continuous to rise and
making it too much costly for the students as well and it effects an economic growth (Worlanyo
and Jiangfeng, 2021). Building a university with large variety of educational offerings with all
the necessary needs involves too much cost and to maintained that level in future also needs
money for that, to overcome that expense university charge high amount from the students as
their fees which impacted students indirectly.
Opportunities for revenue generation
The significant economic impact that makes universities are making by generating revenues.
higher revenues results in higher profitability in the organisation which make an organisation
socially active as well as in producing more human capital. By making more profits will enable
them to pay more to their employees in terms of salary which will in overall help in growth of
the society or city ( Hervieux and Voltan, 2019) . Revenue generation also makes their

crisis. The relationship between university and environment is highly complex. Building an
university can affect it negatively but there are various programs that run by universities to be

Carbon footprints are the sum total of greenhouse gases that are generate by human actions.
Universities and higher institutions are making so many efforts to aware societies and give them
knowledge about the harmful effects that carbon footprints are making in the environment and
promoting environmental development. Most of the universities are emitting greenhouse gases
and for compensating this are constantly making efforts to build a tools which used to measure
sustainability access in greenhouse gases (Lee and Huang,2018). Universities that are established
in bigger cities are contributing in global warming more than those who are in smaller cities
because in building an university it needs more natural resources in it.
Opportunities for sustainable building and design
It makes a major harmful impact on environment when an university is constructing and
cause destruction on a global level. Using heavy machinery and by mining for extracting raw
materials and naturals resources from the earth contributing more to it. The upgrading drive
towards sustainable solutions are what is needed. Well educating professionals from the
universities are really understanding this issue and addressing it by many effective approaches.
By active , passive and hybrid building designs in the building can affect it positively . Optimize
building space, enhance indoor environment quality, conserve water and optimal use of each and
every resource can help in building sustainable environment.
The environmental impacts of any construction work that is needed
There are many approaches which are environment friendly in constructing any building.
Using sustainable construction is very much beneficial for the environment as it uses recycled
products and material in construction. Using biodegradable materials, green insulation in
construction, using smart appliances, sustainable resource sourcing, Zero-energy building design
in construction, Low emitting materials and products , self powered building are some of the
ways which universities can use to make less negative impact on environment.
Social impact of the university
Universities are making social impact in many ways but the major positive impact it made is its
social engagement by teaching activities. Teaching is the central level for nay social change nad
for increasing any social awareness. It leads to economic prosperity in marketplace. Universities
are making social impact in various ways such as by educating people, by providing
employment, by innovating different product, by conducting research and development and
many more (Lin and Magnuson, 2018) . The relationship between universities and social impact

are not new by the establishment of university it start fostering thriving social culture.
Universities can help in providing new set of skills that meet the challenges in the community

service such as online learning, making people aware about the current technology and while
implementing university there is a need of many resources, so by providing those resources to
the people it help in making the demographic area better.
Increased education opportunities
Universities are full of opportunities in many area but its key area is education. Its the basic
aim of establishment of university to provide quality education to the students associated with
it . By hiring best qualified lecturer in the university who provide best possible education to the
students , By regularly measuring the growth level and improvements of the students and by
providing them innovative infrastructure and technology to study (Tuerk, 2018) . If an university
is established in a city it automatically provides opportunities to the people living in city for their
growth. Their continuous improvements motivates them and prepare them for many future
opportunity.
Issues related to crime and health and safety
Lack of employment leads to crime in the city which is lead by unemployed people. By opening

heavy revenues it provides growth for individual as well as for the city also . It also makes
various environmental impacts on the city such as by the emissions of greenhouse gas it creates
carbon footprint, but by adopting sustainable designs of building it can compensate the damage
they had made while constructing university, it also defines the various other building design and

the most effective and sustainable method to reduce the waste generated by the
university. Using recycled products in the construction work and after construction.
Recycling can also be endorse by explaining its impact on the environment. For
sustainability concern initiatives such as composting programs to minimize the
consumption of plastic and paper for much better reuse in recycling. Recycling reduces
the need of extracting raw materials .
