PERSONAL STATEMENT
Technology has taken over the lives of the humans all around the world by endowing
them with the gifts of better efficiency, productivity and most importantly, higher standards of
living. From the use of Siri for calendar management to a Robot serving food to customers in a
restaurant, there is nothing that has been left untouched by this invention. Thus, making it one of
the most fascinating field to learn about and enhance one's career in. Electrical Engineering gives
an insight in the world of how the smallest of technologies help in the creation of bigger
technological devices and help the society to enjoy the comforts of the world.
For me, the words of Nikola Tesla- “The day science begins to study non-physical
phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its
existence.”- have been a great source of inspiration. The advent of technology during the 1990s
holds true to Tesla's words where the introduction of computers and mobile phones resulted in an
unprecedented worldwide social progress for the human race.
My interest in this field dates back to my high school years, where I was given an
assignment by my Science Teacher to build something on the chapter of Electricity using
equipments related to it. Although, I did not exactly win the project competition, doing the
assignment developed my interest into this field which only grew as the years passed by. I ended
up growing fascinated to the subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. Mainly because
Numerics challenged me and helped me develop problem-solving skills, Physics enabled me to
implement these problem-solving skills by conforming to various scientific principles taught in
the class. Whereas the subject of Chemistry helped me think creatively to develop new
components from a set of given elements.
Furthermore, these subjects helped me establish a strong foundation for the academic
endeavours undertaken by me once I graduated school. Through the inculcation of Problem-
Solving skills, Analytical Thinking as well as affinity towards application of mathematics and
scientific principles from the beginning, I was able to think more creatively and address technical
problems in unique ways. Thus, enabling me to face challenges in an effective manner. Also,
during summers, I tended to explore and travel that enabled me to develop and generate original
and unique ideas.
Pursuing a course in Electrical Engineering, I believe, would prove to enable my career in
a direction it lacks right now. Being able to associate myself with a University programme as

prestigious as yours would give me a platform to showcase my ideas and help me in honing the
art of integrating theoretical concepts practically. I am a self-motivated, confident individual who
has a knack for addressing problems creatively. If offered a place, I believe that this opportunity
can help further my career in more ways than one.
