1.0 Journal entry: 1 ‘Know yourself’
As per the concept of Gallup strength theory, people should have clear knowledge and
understanding about the career as well as interpersonal development areas. As a result, an
individual can easily reach the professional goal. Based on Gallup strength theory I have
identified my five strengths, which include Responsibility, Futuristic, Belief, Focus and
Analytical.
Responsibility primarily implies the way on how an individual is responsible in providing
good services to the clients. A responsible professional knowns on how to build effective relation
with the team members associated with the project (Capell 2013). In order to make a project
successful I as a responsible professional should have that competency of communicating every
team member effectively to share the necessary information and ideas.
The role of a Futuristic is to analyze the future uncertainties for overcoming necessary
barriers. While providing services a professional has to face immense challenges while providing
services at the workplace. As a result, Futuristic by using the advancement of technology has to
prevent necessary barriers in future. In order to control the entire process of business effectively
I should have competency in maintaining a good relationship with team members. At the same
time, I should have efficiency of predicting future barriers. As a result, I would be able to
overcome any kind of challenges facing at the workplace. Cooperativeness is highly significant
for rendering good performances.
Belief is the efficiency of having self-confidence on own work by accepting challenges in
order to find the solution. Every workplace is challenging and full of different hardships

(Whitford, Phi and Dredge 2014). Being a professional an individual should have that belief of
giving their best amidst immense challenges and crisis.
The overarching term focus symbolizes determination. In order to perform well towards
the business services one has to be very much focused and determined. By making in-depth
research about the needs and demands of clients, the professional has to be focused in fulfilling
clients’ satisfaction. In order to become an efficient professional I should be focused so that I can
easily exchange my thoughts and ideas to my teammates.
Analytical is the strength of analyzing things in compared to others. As a professional I
should have that competency of analyzing the performance level of mine in compared to other
performer. An individual should have the competency of doing the hard work amidst full
enthusiasm (Hope et al. 2012). As a result, the individual would be able to work in different level
of situations.
These specific strengths would help me to enhance my career path for being an efficient
professional.
2.0 Journal entry 2: ‘Know your sector’
Gallup strength theory primarily aims to demonstrate the strengths of an individual in
order to evaluate how much efficient the individual is in developing the career path. In addition,
the strength of an individual also helps to analyze on how the person should overcome
challenging situations (Kirk et al. 2012). Based on Gallup strength theory I have identified my
five strengths, which include Responsibility, Futuristic, Belief, Focus and Analytical. While
evaluating my five major strengths I have realized that I can maintain an effective
communication with the experts easily based on which I can develop my personal career.

On the other hand, Johari Window theory helps to understand the traits of an individual
as well as others. This particular theory helps an individual immensely in maintaining a mutual
understating between two individuals (Feldman et al. 2013). In addition, by applying Johari
Window theory, people can maintain effective communication with each other. As a result, this
particular theory helps to identify each other’s strengths and weakness.
While making a critical evaluation between two theories it can be analyzed that the area
of Gallup strength theory is very much restricted (Tinnish and Mangal 2012). With the help of
this specific theory it can be evaluated that an individual can only identify own strengths for
developing future career path. On the other hand, Johari Window theory helps an individual to
identify strengths of others. As a result, an individual can maintain an effective communication
with each other that can easily render the success of business (Braglia and Frosolini 2014). In
addition, Johari Window theory is effective in maintaining cooperation with each other.
Therefore, employees can easily implement collaborative work while providing services.
3.0 Journal entry 3: ‘Let them know you’
Both the two theories are equally effective for rendering my effective career
development. While evaluating my Gallup strength I have found five major strengths of mine
that include Responsibility, Futuristic, Belief, Focus and Analytical. It is undeniable that I am a
good communicator with the help of which I can involve every member of my team while taking
decision-making. Moreover, I also have enough efficiency of not to ignore the quality of others
and give proper chances to accomplish their goals at once. It can help me in getting desired job
roles and responsibility. Being an individual, I may have to face immense challenges in
overcoming the situation. By applying my restorative attitude I can work amidst immense

challenges and difficulties faced at my workplace. I have the ability to maintain a proper rapport
with my team members due to which we get motivation performing well towards the services.
On the other hand, Johari Window theory enables to make effective performance within
my team. With the help of this theory, I can observe the problems of my team members as well.
With the help of an effective mutual understanding, I can evaluate on how people belonging to
various geographical backgrounds should be dealt by maintaining proper communication as well
as interaction. As a result, both group members become very much flexible in sharing their
problems faced at the workplace. This is very much effective in motivating me for achieving the
peak of success. In addition, a mutual understanding is very much helpful to exchange necessary
views and thoughts with the team members for making effective collective decision towards
reaching business goal.
