INTRODUCTION
Employability skills refers to the skill which requires by an individual person so that all
the activities can be performed in an effective manner within different business practices. These
are the sort of skills which can easily be transferable and enhance the overall personal abilities
and capabilities in order to carry out each and every task in a successful and positive manner
(Clarke, 2018). It has also been said that it is necessary for workers to have such skills which will
assist in improving the chances of people to get their desirable job roles. In this report, various
articles related to employability skills are going to be identified which enhance the knowledge of
a person. All these articles help in gathering information which is quite significant for the
successful performance of a person in their professional and personal life.

Article 1
On the basis of this article, it is examined that there are ample number of skills which are
quite necessary for a person so that they can successfully perform all their task and activities. It
has been observed by me that there are different types of skills which will assist in getting
suitable job after completing graduation. Apart from this, it is also very necessary to examine
and evaluate the skills by recruiters so they can select best person for their job role. Some of the
most common employability skills are going to be discussed as follows:
 Communication – This is the most effective skills which consist of verbal as well as non
verbal method of communicating. With the help of effective communication skill a
person can easily convey their messages which will help them in order to perform all
their task in an effective and appropriate manner. Therefore, it has been concluded that
with the help of effective, proper and well structured communication leads towards
conveying message from one person to another which as a result reduces conflicts and
confusion (Cotronei-Baird, 2020).
 Problem solving – It define as the skill which is necessary to have in an individual
person so they can creatively and in an innovative manner solve all the problems and
issues arise at the workplace. In addition to this, it has also been said that problem solving
skills considered as the most essential skill which needs to be examine by the recruiters

while hiring graduate candidate which will assist them various angles to reduce or
eliminate problem.
 Team work – This refers to the skills which assist an employee in order to work in a
team manner for attaining goals and objectives of the company. With the help of team
working skill an individual person support their team members in order to successfully
complete all the assigned task within given time period. It is also very essential for
recruiters to examine team working skills within a candidate so that they can perform all
the work in a team and maintain coordination within team members.

According to the opinion of Jemma Smith (2020), it is examined that there are ample
number of opportunities for an individual so that they can easily enhance their employability
skills at the time of lockdown. As per the current scenario where COVID 19 hit the world and
create negative influence, a person can take advantage from this and improve their skills as well
as capabilities which will assist them in order to support them in near future for the growth &
development. It has been observed by me that the phase of lock down act as a negative stage for
some people and students didn’t get wide range of growth opportunities which as a result
demotivates them. But on the other hand there are various positive aspects also which will assist
them to get success and growth in near future by giving them opportunities related to
employment. Some of these methods which assist in improving the skills are going to be
discussed as follows: Short online course – It define as one of the most effective opportunities for an
individual at the time of lock down where they can enrol themselves in online courses as
per their choice. In addition to this, it has also been identified that there are different
websites which gives short term online courses which will assist in improving knowledge
and understanding of an individual. This as a result help them to gain job opportunities in
near future and increase the value of their educational documents by including these
courses in them. This will leads towards the attainment of their personal goals related to
their career and grab opportunities available at the competitive marketplace.
 Learn new language – Another option is to learn new language which gives opportunity
in near future (Ayodele, Oladokun and Kajimo-Shakantu, 2020). This skill can be
improved by an individual person at the time of lock down which as a result assist them

to increase their ability in order to communicate in more than one language. This will
help in getting opportunities to work in multinational corporations where a person can
use this skill to get growth and development opportunities. In addition to this, it is said
that mastering of learning different languages like German, Spanish, Portuguese, French
and many more to grab opportunities in the competitive marketplace.

appropriate manner. Significance of having employability skills are going to be discussed as
follows:
 Effectively perform their work with others – There are ample number of skills which
includes communication skill, team working skill, emotional intelligence, problem
solving and many other effective employability skills which are essential for working
with other staff members in an organisation. All these skills are quite essential for an
individual person as it raises their overall capabilities in order to perform their work in
more accurate and effective way. In addition to this, it has also been said employability
skills are necessary for an individual so that they can satisfy and fulfil all the
requirements as well as expectation of the customers and of the organisation.
 Willing to learn more – It has also been said that employability skills considered as an
important skill for each and every individual person as it assist in enhancing the
willingness of an individual person in order to learn more for improving their
performance. With the help of improved employability skills an individual person bring

new ideas and thoughts so that they can easily enhance their overall knowledge and
understanding. By learning new things an individual grab opportunities available at the
professional environment in a systematic manner and improve their knowledge (Byrne,
2020).

as identify all those skills which are required and are in demand. This as a result assist in
identifying the most essential and demanding skills which will assist in grabbing more job
opportunities available at the marketplace.
Attend workshop – For improving knowledge and understanding there are various sort
of workshops organised which enhance the potentials of a person. It is said that workshops are
important in order to provide knowledge and information about various topics so that all the
activities can be performed in more creative manner. With the help of attending such workshops
an individual can develop their professional networks in various fields (Younis, 2020).

number of ways which needs to be consider for enhancing employability skills while studying. It
is necessary for an individual that they must identify various approaches with the help of which
employability skills of an individual will be developed so that they can attain their desired targets
in an effective manner. There are ample number of methods which will assist a person to be
employable. Part time job – It is necessary for a person to perform all their task in a part time job
which is effective in order to enhance learning experience. This sort of job help in
improving the knowledge of a person while completing their studies in university. Volunteer practices – This is consider as one of the most effective approach in order to
gain effective working experience. There are various methods with the help of which an

individual can easily participate in voluntary practices. This will help them in getting
various voluntary opportunities in near future.
Examination of one own employability skills
It has been observed that employability skills is quite essential for having these skill
which will leads towards enhancing the overall performance of an individual. It has been
identified by me that there are various major strength which are communication skill, problems
solving, team working, organisational skills and many more. I have examined that my overall
communication skills is quite effective which help me in order to convey my message from one
person to another in an effective manner (McGunagle and Zizka, 2020). Along with this, it has
also been said that my problem solving skills help me in getting opportunities in my professional
life as I can easily resolve issues arise at workplace. Furthermore, it has also been said that my
team working skill is not so effective for which I need to attend various classes, seminars and
workshops related to team working skills. This will help me in order to improve my team
working skills which leads towards attainment of organisational goals and targets in an effective
and appropriate manner. Therefore, it has been concluded that my overall skills are quite
appropriate but need to learn new things on a regular basis so that I can improve my all skills
according to current requirements in an appropriate way.
CONCLUSION
With the assistance of above mentioned all the information related to employability skills
it has been concluded that for an individual it is necessary to have sufficient knowledge which
will increase the chances of getting best and effective job opportunities at the competitive. It has
also been said that it consist of communication skills, problem solving, effective leadership, team
work and so on. It is also very necessary for an individual person to examine their employability
skills and develop them if required so that they can attain their both personal as well as
professional goals. Along with this, it has also been identified that there are various methods
which will assist a person in order to create employability skills to effectively perform all their
business task and meet the expectation of their own and business.
