Journal entry 1
Job description
The companies that I have chosen are Pepsi and Kainos. The job description and
specifications include the responsibility for supervising and overseeing the activities going on in
the company. Usually businesses rely on the business manager and being one, I would have to
keep workers aligned with their individual goals along with the organizational goals. I would
need to report the top executives regarding various updates; this is because Pepsi and Kainos,
both are big organizations (Faherty 2015). I would have to oversee the activities performed by
the workers, recruit, train as well as evaluate the new employees. I would also have to ensure that
the organization in its track in meeting their financial goals. I might have to develop as well as
implement budgets, prepare various reports for the senior management and then make sure that
the department complies with the policies of the company. Sometimes I might have to look after
if the workers have enough resources to do their work.
Professional qualification
A professional qualification that I can acquire alongside my degree to be preferred
candidate for this job include the knowledge regarding accounting, decision making,
management theory, business law as well as ethics, macroeconomics, information systems,
business writing. Some professional qualification among these need to be acquired for the job to
be m ore suitable for me because most of the organizations allow candidates who have
knowledge regarding the field as well as a holds a certificate as a proof of the knowledge (Hjelde
2015). One more way by which I can gain professional qualification for the job is by earning a
master’s degree in the area of business administration of some other field that is closely related.

Essential skills
My CV and the profile in LinkedIn demonstrate that I have desirable and essential skills
for the job. The skills mentioned are
Being determined: as mentioned in my CV as well as my LinkedIn profile, I am
very determined to the job that I perform. I never quit in between any job or
project, if it is difficult and not doable (Iyer, Carrington and Mercer 2018). I
consult with others and look for a solution to the problem. In case consulting does
not work, I try new ideas and new methods to carry out the task successfully.
Relationship builder: I am a very good relationship builder. I have good
communication skills which help me in interacting with people around me. This
helps me to know everyone personally as a result creating good relationship with
others. Building good relationship helps me to keep a clear thought of members
regarding each other, I do not give any chance to misunderstanding among the
members and if any misunderstanding occurs, I try my best to solve it instantly.
Creative thinker: not all projects or tasks work with same processes or methods
and hence different methods should be used in some cases (Tran 2015). Creative
ideas should be applied for various tasks, I am creative thinker and this helps me
in thinking differently in order to carry out tasks and also helps me in gaining my
knowledge. Creativity is the key to carrying out a project in a different way and
sometimes it provides better results than previous results obtained by common
methods.
Risk taker: Sometimes, the processes that are to be used to carry out a task might
be risky for the team or organization as well, but I do not hesitate in taking risky

decisions. I consult with elder people before doing so and I take risky decisions
for carrying out a task.
Journal entry 2
STAR Method
During my interview I was asked regarding an experience of mine where I had enormous
pressure and I performed well at that moment. Using STAR method I started with the storytelling
regarding the situation.
Once, in my last job, one of my coworkers had an emergency in his family and required a
leave for some time, due to this a very important project was left incomplete and there was n
manager.
In this situation, my supervisor had requested me to take over the project and provided no
legacy on the deadline of the project. I had just few days to complete the entire project which
would have actually taken weeks to complete.
I requested to provide a specific reduction in my weekly goals and I was granted with it.
This has helped me to allot even more time for the project (Tran 2016). In case of my weekly
goals, I was allowed to delegate the tasks out to my team members who were capable of doing
the task.
The reduction in my goals had helped me in dedicate completely to the special project.
Hence I could finish the project in time along with accuracy.

Learning
From the entire module, I have learnt that I acquire several skills like communicational
skills, organizational skills, skills to maintain a good relationship among everyone, dedicated,
creative thinking, risk taker and many more (Faherty 2015). These skills would help me in
performing well in my job. Besides these, various skills that I need to acquire for being more
suitable for the job post are as follows
Decision making: decision making is a major part of any job profile; this is a skill
which should be acquired by any employee.
Leadership: leadership quality would help me to supervise the employees and
their works.
Multi tasking: multi tasking is one of the most important skills that I need to
acquire because it would help in concentrating on various tasks at the same time
along with performing them with accuracy.
