INTRODUCTION
University is defined as an institution of the higher learning providing facilities for research
and teaching and also authorized to grand the academic degrees (Bacq and Eddleston, 2018).
University, institution of the higher education, comparison any college of science and liberal arts
and professional schools and graduate and having an authority for conferring degree in different
filed of the study. University is different form college as it its usually larger and has a border
curriculum that offers professional and graduate degree in addition to the undergraduate degree.
Main purpose of the universities is to be guardian of the reason, philosophical and inquiry
openness, preserving a pure inquiry form the dominant public opinions. It is a formidable,
revealing as well as exciting and certainly important part of a university's regular planning or
improvement agenda for engaging in an open discussion with its key stakeholder. University's
stakeholder include the staff, students, community group, industry, alumni and professions as well
as the government are stakeholder in the higher reduction. Shareholder involvement ordinarily
involves communicating with the stakeholder regarding an institution's accomplishment to date
and their plan for future as well as asking their perspective about both. Feedback of stakeholders

Göransson, 2020). Main aim of this report is to understand about university, health impact,
challenges in term of disease and infection, opportunity on both local and national level of a
university, environment impact of university in term of city carbon footprint, impact on
construction work and opportunities for the sustainable building, social impact of university in
term of changes in demographic area, issues related to health and safety and crime rate and
education opportunities. There will be also some recommendation that suggest way to maximize
and minimize challenges that has been discussed in analysis.
The health impacts
Provision of the healthcare including mental healthcare for students
When there is an opening of a university in city then several students will come and join
that university to learn new things and increase their experiences for their future career life
(Beretta, Demartini, and Trucco, 2018). By sometimes it may impact the student's physical and

mental health as it may cause the problem of depressions and anxiety that impact student's mental
health. The mental health is becoming major topic of concern in the university, specifically as it
relates to provision of services for the students with behavioural and emotion disorders.
Challenges related to disease and infection in the students accommodation
The students accommodation play vital role in student's experience. But sometimes it is
very risky for student in term of their health. If any students are facing some serious disease then
there is possibility that it also impact the other students by infecting them (Gaisch and Nömeyer,
2020). Often, they also face problem in meals as some universities does not maintain hygiene
properly due to which quality of food is also get impacted. Consumption of this type of food is
very unhealthy for students and sometimes it becomes very dangerous for their health that creates
many diseases.
Opportunities both the locally and nationally that could be result from the training new
healthcare professionals at universities
Training to the new healthcare professional, have the positive impacts on locally and
nationally. Training of health professionals and students in quality improvement enhance skills,
attitude and knowledge. Additionally, it also shows that the care process may bring some
improvement. University within a big city comes with various opportunities for students. They can
access the information that will be helpful for them to decide that which profession they should or
want to fallow (Kalogeropoulos, Fletcher and Nielsen, 2019). University will give an access to
the health science libraries. Students can also do volunteer work in the hospital that would help
them to select their career. Empathy and compassion, these two skills are very essential for
students who want to become an excellent healthcare professional. These opportunities help the
students to build their confidence and also allow then to share their skills with the community.
The environmental impacts
Impacts on city's carbon footprint
The carbon footprint is total amount of the greenhouse gases which are generated by
human's actions. Universities or high reduction institution engaged in research, education and

community services that play a significant role to promote the sustainable development. Thus,
there are increasingly linked to initiatives of the calculating their carbon footprint that is a tool
which is used to assess the sustainability from the visual aspect of greenhouse gas emission. The
construction of a university in city is responsible for carbon emission along with the operational
emission ( from energy utilized to cold, heat and light building). If an university open in a large
city them it impact the carbon footprint as it extract the natural resources to build material itself,
causes environmental degradation, consume energy and also contribute to the global warming.
Opportunities for the sustainable building and design
For a sustainable building design in during opening a university, site design must integrate
with the sustainable design in order to accomplish a successful project and then begins with a
prepare site selection that include existing building’s rehabilitation. Site of the university’s
sustainable building should control reduce and treat storm water runoff (Nghia, Giang and Quyen,
2019). A sustainable university’s building construction should encourage practices of recycling
the water on certain on the site project whenever possible. University’s building should be
designed that are balanced with secure, safe and productive environment. The indoor environment
quality of sustainable building has an important impact on the occupant health, productivity and
comfort.
Environmental impact of construction work
The construction work of university has an important impact on the environment as it
contributes to the environmental damage on local and global scale. It is essential to learn that what
impact the construction causes in order to scale the back damage. Its biggest negative impact on
environment is caused by burning of the fossil flues like diesel and gas (Pokrovskaya and et. al.,
2020). The construction project of university result in these gas emissions of methane, carbon
dioxide and other waste product which pollute air and are believed their contribution to the global
warming. Most harmful aspect of the construction is the climate changes as it include use of heavy
machinery in the mining project which extracts raw material from earth to use them in
construction project. The construction work of university also creates noise pollution that is
produced by the machinery on site preparation, landscape and demolition which is not good for
the environment.

Changes to the demographic of the area
If a university will be open within large city then it will change the demographic are in
different ways. As education is basis of the social development. Thus, investment in the education
will improve the human capital and also increase standard of living by make them understandable
about quality of life (Sarkodie and Adams, 2018). It impacts the personal lives of demographic
areas as it teaches the people that how to deals with common problems. It impacts the
demographic area as it provide them employment which make enable person to earn money for
their living. University change perspective of demographic area by making them understandable
about moral responsibility and many more. Thus, there are several ways through which opening of
a university will impact the demographic area.
Increased education opportunities
Universities are full of the opportunities as it provides several opportunities to the students
that help them to gain more knowledge and skill. It motivates students to learn more that enhance
their experiences. As learning and teaching should always be relevant- whether related to student’s
degree and or the extracurricular activities, universities teach the students essential workplace skill
and importance of well-being (Storrie and Rohleder, 2018). Universities encourage the students to
learn from their mistake or faults and view their mistakes as an opportunity. University also
realize the students that they should not consider themselves to be n the competition with their
peers while it comes to test scores or assignment. It encourage students to build their internal
motivational and perform or work together rather than just against each other. University help
student by educating or develop their awareness regarding workplace that enhance their critical
workplace skills including positive communication and leadership. It is great opportunity for
students to gain better sense of what are their purposes in life
Issues related to the crime and health or safety

When university take an active measure or action to protect their student and maintain a safe
campus, then crime still happiness. If a university is opened in city then many crime will take
place there. Most prevalent crimes committed on the university campus are motor vehicle theft,
fonding, burglary and sexual assault (Tang and Veelenturf, 2019).There is possibility of many
hazardous diseases among students in a university as every second students smoke like steam
locomotive when amount of the nicotine in their lungs exceeds all the conceivable limits. There
health is also get impacted by liquor as mostly students start to drink alcohol which is not good for
their health. Student very frequently sit at computer also in wrong poses with an incorrect posture
that cause many physical issues. Another major reason of student’s health issues is that in
university they eat a lot of the junk food that impact their internal system of body. It creates many
problems that will also impact their career.
Recommendations
 In order to positive outcome for environment and society it is recommended to the
university that it should avoid sending waste to the landfill. By salvaging, recycling and
reusing the existing material, university ca cut down on the material that harming this
precious earth. There are various germ building option that help university to decrease
negative environmental impact. If the university will accelerate its construction project, it
reduces the traffic disturbance and help to minimize the associated emissions emission or
fuel cost. Expediting the university’s construction process help them to minimize noise
pollution.
 Universities can reduce the mental stress among students by offering them a range of the
study breaks for practicing relieving and mindfulness stress. They shod also offer various
options such as rock painting, guided meditation, yoga and therapy dogs.
 Universities can contribute to the society by equipping individual with task of the bettering
society. They play their significant role in community by creating prosperity through the
development. It is suggested to universities to plan strategically and remain transparent
with the incident reporting.

CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that universities are essential part for any nation a sit
training individual in their specific field so that they can become able to provide services to the
economy. When it is decide to open a university then there are some issues also arise such as
mental stress among students, environmental issues, crime, health and safety issues and many
more. To overcome such type of issues universities should take some appropriate decision to
reduce the environmental impacts and criminal activities. For this, university need to use
environmental friendly resources during its construction. It also should train their students that
how to overcome for any type of issues. University also bring changes in demographic by
improving their standard of living, providing employment and many more. They teaches peoples
that how to accomplish their goals in life and make enable them efficient so that they can
accomplish their objective effectively.
