Assessment 3
Assessment 3
The report emphasis on managing ourselves and make ourselves competent to lead the
team and working with multicultural individuals in the team. The report includes the
reflection of what I learnt throughout the semester and the reading materials provided in the
college. One of the reading which I am going to talk about is “managing oneself” explaining
the rules of Peter Drucker, which emphasis on developing our strength and knowing where
one belongs to (Rao, 2015).
As we know that history had great leaders like Napoléon, da Vinci and Mozart who
have performed extra ordinarily well in their life and have been considered as an exception,
however they have been managing themselves in the war like conditions. It is said that
“Knowing where one belongs can transform an ordinary person — hardworking and
competent but otherwise mediocre — into an outstanding performer (Eliason, 2019).” It
means that if I want to perform exceptionally than I will have to be aware about my strengths,
and I will have to evaluate how do I learn and how do I contribute. It is important to focus on
strengths and develop the certain skills and traits to transform ourselves to build an extra
ordinary persona. Developing strength would also subsidies the impact of weaknesses. When
I relate myself to the theory of managing myself from Peter Drucker, I feel that my strength is
communication skills and adaptability. I can adjust myself in any environment, learn new
things quickly and manage things with minimum financial resources available. I worked for
the restaurant where I even helped in purchase department, and I helped them to get the best
quality things on cheapest price available. The negotiation skills helped me reach this level of
confidence. However, to apply these tricks in all field, I will have to study each industry
trends and need to gather knowledge of a particular subject before opting for any discussion
or deal (srinivasan, 2015).

Assessment 3
My personality reflects more towards having leadership skills, an extrovert individual
who is comfortable to work with number of people belonging to different culture. I consider
everybody’s opinion while taking any decision (Jorgenson, 2015). Furthermore, I give more
importance to people’s perspective, because I feel considering everybody’s opinion minimize
the risk of failure. One more aspect in “how do I perform” aspect is whether you can work
under pressure or you need predictable environment. If I evaluate myself on that stance, I can
work under pressure. I am looking towards developing myself to continue working under
pressure by producing finest quality results. One more aspect of managing oneself talks about
having values which can be compatible with organizations’ values. I have a charismatic
personality, where I have balanced approach of people centric and task-oriented values. On
the contrary, wherever there is a tradeoff between human emotions and task completion, I
find it difficult to come to any conclusion (Drucker, 2015).
The personal competencies model is being used to evaluate an individual four set of
competencies which can help to achieve the goal for life. Before joining any organization, I
will have to study the background of the company. Next would be how the learning strategies
such as summarization and highlighting will me help to regain the knowledge. There will be
few challenges in dealing with multicultural employees and employees with different goals,
