INTRODUCTION
Reflective writing termed out as analytical practice that defines real or imaginary scene
with help of incident, though, feeling, emotion and situation (Li, Chen and Deng, 2020). This is
termed out as personal response to experience, situation, events and processing phase. Reflective
writing is one of effective way that assist to build critical thinking capabilities (Markkanen,
Välimäki and Kuuskorpi, 2020).
The present report is based on reflection on topic professional development. This will
help to identify the skill that enhance after shifting from India to UK. Also, reflection will be
conducted with use of Gibbs reflective cycle.
MAIN BODY
Gibbs reflective cycle
Reflective model is termed out as the Gibbs model. It is the model that incorporates the
description such as feelings, evaluation, analysis, conclusion and action plan (Young, 2020).
This is model that assist to help critical thinking. This encourages the readers to think about the
experience in the systematic manner by describing the whole scenario. Henceforth, reflection
will be outlined in following manner as-:
Description- After, the 5 years of my graduation I decided to take further education in a reputed
university of UK. So, I Joined XYZ university. I have joined this university so that my
professional learning can be enhanced and I can do better in future. After, joining university I
have experienced that students in the UK were so talented and advanced. They have the
capabilities to their thing in more advanced manner. They have good technical as well creative
skills. They use to do their things on time manner. They have remarkable presentation skill that
makes them differentiate from others. Once our tutor gave us task to make a presentation on
Management and professional skills. In that, whole student divided into group. I have analysed
that each student was doing well. In that presentation, I have analysed that I need to improve my
communication and leadership skill. I hesitate to communicate with them and this led to impact
on my presentation. During making of presentation skill, I have also analysed that I am not that
effective in creative skill. Thus, the others student has used their creativity in well manner and
that has made their presentation very effective and attractive ( Aziz, Mahboob and Saleem,
2020).

Also, I have analysed that they have fluency in their vocabulary and this makes them
extra effective at time of presenting themselves for presentation. During mu turn of presenting
presentation, I felt myself in shaking voice and this affected my whole presentation in badly
manner. Also, I have analysed the students of UK are so punctual and they effective time
management skill and that made them professionally developed individual. Once, we were given
assignment of economics. I was bit late in submission and due to this my professor scolded me in
badly manner. Also, they punished by giving no market for the assignment.
It has also affected my academic performance in that subject. Also, I have made wrong
impression on my professor. So, in the first year of learning in university I have found out that I
am lack with lot of skill that can impact my learning in the future. I was very frustrated during
the first year in UK. I faced wide range of difficulties that has impacted my learnings in the
future. Once, we were engaged in group activity and was assigned a lot of task to do in the
deadline. I felt I was very unproductive during the group assignment as compared to the students
of UK. They have good communication skill so they make interaction with one another in more
attractive and easy manner. They also gave creative approach to do their work in extra ordinary
manner.
Due to ineffective skill of mine, I was not able to show up my talent in expressive way. I
felt very depressed and this whole scenario has affected my learning during that first assignment.
Although, we have submitted out assignment on time as that was group activity. I felt that my
individual performance in the group assignment was not well. Also, I have found out that I have
also faced the issues in living the life in UK. In order to live, there is need to make huge
expenses for basic life. This all situation made the situation worst in the first year and this all has
affected my personal as well professional development. This kind of experience has affected
my personal growth and I was very sad as my academic achievement also got affected (Travers,
Schneider and Pollock, 2020).
Feelings- I felt extremely miserable at the time while I got less less marks for each subject as
compared to the others students. This has made me demotivated and I have realized that I needed
to improve my self and must enhance my learning skill so that I do not have to face this kind of
situation in future. Also, I was so upset with my own inability to speak in front of group of
people. My late submission of assignment also affected my academic achievement negatively. I
also became upset with my professor who have deducted my marks in assignment, he could have

given me chance to show my self on time during next submission. Therefore, these all
experience left me very distressed and I range in sick the following week. I left the session as
soon as class over and did not speak to anyone.
Evaluation- At the time, I did not feel that the situation can be resolved. There were three or
more students who belongs to India. I have talked to them and they told that they felt quite
similar here. In order to cope with other students, I needed to enhanced my core skills. After
conversation with them, I felt positive. I have analysed that everyone felt disturbed in the few
classes at a new place. I also came to know that I must have undertaken the better evaluation on
my core skill and on those which needed to be improved to enhance the learning in my future.
By developing the skill an individual can able to present himself in much more effective manner.
In the assignment submission the things that didn't work was that we assumed that we wrote in
the same way and therefore the overall time plan of the group got failed. At this stage, I
evaluated that I have lot of things due to which my personal capabilities have affected and I
needed to look over my skill to develop my professional competency in the future course of
action. I have analysed that I needed to develop my leadership, team-working, time management
and communication skills. By implementing and developing skills in my self can be helpful for
me to develop my future undertakings. Henceforth, communication is one of the crucial skill that
can assist to undertake future planning in more effective manner (Guy, Cranwell and McKinstry,
2020). By developing leading skill I can able to lead my things in proper manner.
Analysis- At this stage, I have analysed that my situation is worst as my academic graph also
declined. To cope up with this all, I decided to enhance my skills so that I can do the future act
properly. I also decided to talk with my one of mentor so that he could help me to enhance my
skills effectively and this can also helped me to do the things in future effectively. He has helped
me a lot as he provided me a guidelines that could help me to develop my efficiency in future. I
have analysed that working this way can be effective to develop my future strength. I have
searched out some of the literature on group work and found out that there are some things that
can help me to understand the situation in more proper manner. If the whole class work in the
collaborate manner then the learning can be developed and future goals can be accomplished.
Effective teamwork and work delegation seems to comes from using people different strength
( Sherwood, Cherian and Smith-Miller, 2020). To cope up with the situation, I have developed a
group so that I can able to enhance my communication skill. Also, I have analysed that I think

being aware of group think in the future will be helpful for me to handle the group work at the
time of making decision. In order to get success in the future this is crucial to develop learning
and do the act in proper manner with framing out effective strategy (Bonilla, 2020).
Conclusion- At this stage, I have realised that I would do the several things in some different
manner. I should have spoked to my class teacher very previously. This could help me to develop
my future skills effectively so that I can do the entire act in different manner. I should have been
more assertive by advising the tutor that could continue with lesson. I have analysed that this is
so significant to build the better relationship with teacher so that they could help us to develop
out future capabilities. I needed to develop the professional relationship with teacher so that I can
acted properly in the future. I must conclude that skills plays crucial role to develop professional
competency and this also enhance the future capabilities of an individual. I’m confident this
current experience will be enough to remind me to suggest this if anyone says we should divide
up the work in the future.
Action plan- In future to enhance my skills and proficiency, I needs to build up better
relationship with colleagues. Thus, I am working with alongside with different teachers during
my placement and I tried to talk to them so that skills can be developed and enhanced. After
consultation with one of mentor we have decided to developed a programme of team teaching for
the next weeks so that I do not feel pressurised. Thus, teacher also helped me to arrange a extra
class for the all student who comes from different background and who are facing issues here to
cope up with the things. Therefore, I also spoke with my fellow trainees in most of time so that I
can able to enhance my learning and also can identify my lacking areas that needed to be
improved. This experience has made me realise that to adjust at some other place we needed to
have that attitude that could help us to understand other culture effectively (Kirkman and
Brownhill, 2020). I started to take classes and involved my self into practical classes so that I
can develop my self practically. It could help me to enhance my communication in well manner
and I can be effective in making interaction with another so that group assignment all can be
made in better way. I learned that when a group wants to divide the work we must also plan how
we wants each section to look and feel effective. Therefore, I wants the best result possible and
this can help me to enhance my skill and develop professional competency.
