PERSONAL REFLECTION
The report which I examined is relating to the project management in which various
aspects are identified in respect of gathering relevant information regarding accomplishing the
task. Thus, this report is presented in the form of Gibbs model in which the whole procedure is
performed in 6 steps (Gibbs Reflective Cycle, 2019). The first step is relating to Description in
which the perspective of whole report is undertaken. Thus, from my point of view I find that the
journey of being the project manager is examined and also the strategies which is used to
accomplish the project to give better results. Thus, in such aspects the reason behind attaining the
post of the project managers is very interesting and also helps in gathering various learning from
interacting with different department regarding scheduling the work. The things which I
managed is regarding the coordination between the team as every person belongs to different
background and thus, to manage their interest towards the work is difficult. As every had their
own perspective is respect of attaining the task in different way and also the way of presenting
such task is also unique. Thus, innovative techniques are used in respect of building the trust
among the team so that they can agree to work with each other as team.
By attaining the post of the project manager, it itself carries various responsibility as I
carry the duty of maintaining the reputation of the company and also had to deal in various
circumstances in respect of setting the single goal for every person. In respect of motivating the
staff to work on a single task, the wider things I came across in respect of facing different
thoughts and ideas and also the issue in respect of accepting such things. As every team member
had different ideas to accomplish such task to give better results (Niyomdecha and Yahya, 2019).
But due to having strict time boundation, I faced issue in respect of undertaking each person
suggestion or guiding them to choose the right one. Another factors which is I examined is
relating to not performing the role of project managers or when there are no needs of project
managers in company. The aspects which I came across is relating to not appointing the good
leaders which can managed the task in better way. As project is accomplished in time but also
carries quality work and this can be undertaken in respect of motivating team to work in a group
so that risk can be reduced.
The second step which is undertaken in Gibbs model is relating to Feeling which is
examined in respect of attaining the post of the project managers. As in this post I related the
duty and responsibility which is had to carry in respect of providing quality work. As I also carry

the name of the company and had to take care of the skills of the team in respect of motivating
them to bring innovative ideas at their work place. After examining the situation, I feel that I had
to bring changes in my working style. As every person carry different perspective and thought
sin respect of accomplishing the task. Thus, in such manner I had to personally deal with the
situation in respect of gathering information and analysing them before giving any approval. The
feeling which I faced is in respect of getting respect from team regarding following the orders
and sharing their problems if any they face at work place.
Being at the post of the project managers, it carries various stages in respect of interacting
with staff and assigning the task. So, I feel that I managed my time effectively and also appoint
the effective leaders for every department who can guide or update the work on timely bases
(Bhandarker and Kumar, 2017). I also feel that HR also plays the role in good manner, as they
appoint such person which are competent to handle the matter by their own. They can also
resolve the solution in respect of facing any issue in attaining such task in better way.
The third step in Gibbs model is relating to Evaluation in which the positive thing which
I examined is relating to getting the proper feedback from the user regarding viewing the project
as they invested the money in the project. Thus, this is the positive sign in respect of getting
timely feedback from the investors if we are planning in wrong directions. In this whole project
journey, the positive thing I find that it is higher level of support from the executive management
in respect of guiding or correcting the project in particular task. As they carry their authority and
rights in better way and also keep the minute check on the working of the superiors in respect of
accomplishing the task in right time with maintaining the quality work. From my point of view,
another positive thing which I find is relating to carrying the speciality in respect of accurate
planning. As through these aspects, it results in catching the interest of the team towards the
project for longer way and also the quality work is to be given to the parties.
The negative point which I came across is relating to not managing the resources in right
way. As lot of resources are wasted in respect of testing and which is not reused. Thus, in such
aspects, the negative aspects occur in respect of not retaining such aspects for longer way. I also
realised that due to facing lack of technical management, the chances of getting accurate
feedback is delayed as the IT team management is not proper. The person which are appointed in
the field of the IT not adapted the advanced technologies in respect of gathering the information
from the external sources. Thus, in such manner the negative aspects which I examined through

this perspective is relating to the changing in specification or procedure. As team members are
set in respect of working such activity in the set manner, thus changes occur in respect of
assigning different task to team in respect of dealing the matters in particular set task. Thus, it
takes time to give them guidance and also proper training session are executed in respect of
guiding them in right path.
The fourth step is relating to Analysis in which I undertaken the aspect relating to
preferring the coordination procedure, as it helps me in undertaking the various aspects in better
way. As in respect of attaining as the post of the project manager I realised the coordination is
must in every project. Through these aspects it resulting in managing the close relationship with
every department and also helps in gathering new information and leaning. This helps in
managing the activities in better way and also motivates team members to listen their views and
thoughts and implement them to bring better changes at work place (Steen and et.al., 2018). The
role of leadership also carried wider range of benefits in respect of retaining the project in
company for longer way. As through effective communication it results in enhancing their
strategies in right way and also, they also build the strong relationship with the team to gain
advantages in longer way.
Another thing which I also realised in respect of not undertaking the project management
practices or process in the company. The crises occur in respect of not performing the role of the
leader in respect of not carrying the liability to respect the skills of the team in accomplishing
such task. As changes are demanded by the team members in respect of bringing creativity at
work place, thus these aspects are also helpful in respect of choosing any new project in
business.
The fifth step of the Gibbs model is relating to Conclusion which is undertaken on the
bases of examining the positive and negative aspects in context of attaining the position as
project manager. From these aspects, I assured that time management is one of the necessary
aspects through which the stability of the project is determined. In context of managing the
overall activity, it results in gathering more time to check the quality of the project and also take
reviews from the users in respect of the complete project undertaken. I find that management is
also undertaken in respect of controlling the uses of resources. As through the adequate
resources, it is useful in respect of saving costs and also helps in respect of engaging in different
projects in near future.

At last the overall planning is to be examined through conducting the Action plan in
which the proper steps are taken in respect of carrying the leadership skills in which I can listen
to every team view and then take the right decision. Another planning which I think is to be
undertaken is relating to appointing the skilled and trained person in IT department so that they
can handle the issue in better way. I find that I had to develop more communication skills so that
I can clearly interact with different caste of employees and motivated them to accomplish such
task to gain more advantages in near future.
