1. Introduction to the Problem
The problem is focused over the issues faced by the female professors within universities.
Sexual harassment is a most rising issue in the present times. Women professors are constantly
being faced by sexual harassment that are posed by male students. Various research have shown
that women professors are primarily been targeted in the recent times and are abused (Calafell,
2014). The victims of such harassment have also stated the fact that the assaults included abusive
sexist comments and further extended to sexual assault.
2. Is Technology a part of the Problem?
There is no form of inclusion of technical prospects within the creation of a situation of
problem within the scenario (Bystydzienski et al., 2017). The different kind of sexual harassment
are mainly in the form of sexual assaults and sexist comments.
3. Is Technology a part of the Solution?
However, technology could play a major role in spreading a word about awareness. The
impact of digital platform could play a major role in creating a sense of cognizance within the
people (Mitchell et al., 2016). The people facing such incidents could report the matter within the
social platform and thus society or the university could take strict actions with dealing them.
4. Conclusion
Technology would only be a part of the solution. The use of social media or any other
digital platform could help in forming a solution to the various kind of problems faced by women
professors in the universities.
