Introduction
While pursuing various courses at universities the students apart from gaining knowledge
regarding their subjects also get prepared for their success in career so that they can grow and
develop both personally and professionally. During their studies the students acquire various
skills and talents like communication skills, time management, task management, presentation
skills etc. so that they can become successful in their lives (Epstein, 2018). It is thus important
that the student develop as a learner during the university courses and remain prepared for the
challenges and expectations of future university course so that they can prepare themselves for
success. In this a reflection on how i developed as a learner and prepared myself for future
university challenges will be discussed.
Main Body
How and why you have developed as a learner
At the university i chose the course that interests me so that i can learn about various
aspects of the course and the way in which i can become an expert in the subject which was eng
taught in the university. I developed as an efficient learner so that i could understand the lectures
which were given to us in the class regarding the subject so that i could become efficient in the
subject which can help me in gaining high scores in the class. I took notes on a regular basis
during the lectures which helped me in writing down all the important points regarding the topics
which were taught in the class that helped me in enhancing my memory regarding the topic. I
also completed my homework and assignments on a regular basis so that i could become highly
efficient in the topics that were taught in the class which also helped me in scoring highest marks
in the university. It is important to develop as a learner as it helps in understating the subject
thoroughly and grasping its concepts so that a deep knowledge regarding the topic can be
generated. This helps in understanding things from their root which is important in developing a
creative perspective regarding the subject that can help in solving problems related to the subject.
I also used effective time management skills to manage my time and prioritise all the
subjects based on their importance so that i could give sufficient time to each of the subject. This
also helped me in paying equal attention to all the subjects that were taught to us so that i could
score good marks in each of the subjects. Various theories helped in developing as a learner like
behaviourism, cognitivism, constructivism and connectivism so that i can well understand the

concepts which helped me in scoring good marks in my class. All these theories helped me in
dealing with various situations differently like through behaviourism i learned how change in
behaviour can help in developing as a learner. Through cognitivism i was able to actively
participate in the learning process so that i can develop as a learner. Thus various theories
created an overall positive impact on my learning and helped me in gaining knowledge about the
subject. I revised all the subjects on time with the help of task management skills as it helped me
in managing all the subjects effectively so that proper attention can be given to each of them and
making them manageable and understandable. I also took help from my teachers if i faced
problems while understanding the concept regarding a topic so that understanding can be built
efficiently. I read many books related to my subject like mathematics, research related books,
articles; newspapers etc. so that i could remain updated which is important in developing my
knowledge regarding market which i important in developing my employability skills. I actively
listened to the lectures in class so that i could understand the subject and gain deep understanding
about how the problems associated with the subject can be efficiently solved. Thus, at the
university i developed as a learner which helped me in understanding the subjects thoroughly
which is important for knowledge generation. I also scored well at the university that can help in
making my academic qualifications strong and help me in getting admissions in my desired
university for further studies. Also it helps in making me more employable so that i can get job
in my desired company where i can make use of my skills and knowledge in an efficient manner.
Approaches to future challenges and expectations of university course
While taking courses at universities a variety of challenges are faced by students which can
affect their ability of being successful and make it important to identify these challenges so that
effective steps can be taken in dealing with these challenges. These challenges and university
expectations increase as the students get promoted to higher classes which mean that the students
should develop the skills required to efficiently learn the courses in higher levels. The future
challenges that i might face while studying at the university are better mathematical and
interpretation skills so that the subjects which are taught at higher levels can be understood in an
efficient manner. Also the challenges related to effective presentation skills, data collection,
analytical skills etc. also needs to be considered which are important as the courses get complete
and i get promoted to higher studies. It is important that i identify these challenges so that I can
work towards improving my skills through various ways so that I can complete my university

courses with full efficiency and prepare myself for success. Taking part in debate competitions,
group discussions can help in improving my communication skills. Reading books, solving more
mathematical problems, taking help of my teachers and friends can help me in becoming
efficient at mathematical problem solving. Thus constructivist theory helped me in becoming
better at solving problems efficiently and becoming more confident with my subjects. Taking
part in various group presentation activities can make my skills like team management, time
management, presentation, group work etc. skills more efficient. Further it is also important that i
do revision of the subjects that are taught to me by the teachers so that i can create a better
understanding of the subject and can score better marks. Thus, i need to work hard and integrate
my skills so that the future challenges and expectations of university courses can be efficiently
fulfilled.
Conclusion
From this report it can be concluded that in order to gain knowledge and become creative
it is important that the student develop as learners so that they can better understand the subjects
that are taught to them. This can help them in becoming academically strong and also they can
gain higher education in an efficient manner and fulfil challenges and expectations of future
university courses.
