INTRODUCTION
An academic portfolio is defined as a digital collection of work which is developed by
students associated to their course related work and includes poster, essay, photographs, videos
and many more. Along with this, eportfolio provide a student with capturing aspects of their life
as well as extracurricular activities. The main objective of E-portfolio is to collect student work
samples, learning progress, demonstrate learning along with their achievements. It is important
for students to develop E-portfolio as it helped in gaining knowledge regarding various skills
which further helped to gain opportunities. The present report will cover various documents that
helped in elaborating the learning and development of students along with the reasons. In
addition to this, it will emphasize on understanding of communication along with its significance
in academic as well as professional development. Further, it will include understanding regarding
reflective writing and reflective skills in both personal and professional context. Moreover, the
portfolio will highlight significance of reflection and it’s importance in development of
professional and personal aspects. Apart from this, the present portfolio will provide better
understanding regarding different learning styles and its importance in education that further
focus on auditory and visual learning. Furthermore, it will provide understanding about various
social orientations as well as its characteristics. The portfolio will consist of how to develop
PowerPoint presentation which help in attracting and creative good content. One of the main
topics that is covered in the portfolio is plagiarism and how it impact on the credibility and
validity of work. It will also highlight the significance of referencing that makes the work more
valuable and credible for students. In the last, a skill of formal writing and how to develop an
effective and optimal structure of work is elaborated in the report.

Communication for professional and academic context.
By the assistance of this module, I am able to understand about significance of
communication for convey my opinions and ideas in an effective in appropriate manner. Along
with this, I was able to understand different communication activities which include verbal

writing, special media and so on. This model helped me to gain insight about different types of
nonverbal communication and its importance to evaluate which further broaden the knowledge
about how to communicate and how it can be enhanced. It is analyzed by me that communication
plays a vital role in ensuring that there is no gaps or miscommunication of data that is necessary
in order to maintain the productivity in both professional as well as academic aspect.
Reflective writing
This model allows me to gain understanding about significance of reflective writing
which is related to academics. Along with this, it has allowed me to gain understanding about
how to evaluate and experiment and develop a consideration in a better end effective way. By the
assistance of this, I was able to learn about how to keep reflective learning journals and show all
the activities performed. It is analyzed by me that to write a reflective writing there are various
models used such as Gibbs reflective cycle, Kolbs learning model and so on. All these help to
elaborate own understanding in a systematic and structured manner.
Reflective practice
This model assists me to emphasize on the aspect of reflection for enhancing my
professional and academic development. It is crucial for me as I am able to learn from my own
experience that further allowed me to improve my skills as well as abilities I learned about Gibbs
reflective cycle, kolbs experimental learning theory which further lead me to understand the
concept of reflection at broad level. Apart from this, it also helped me to gain opportunities in
order to make choices for showing my learning and development. It is analyzed by me that I was
able to gain knowledge through reflection of new data and achieve feedbacks in relation to my
own experiences. My reflection emphasis on time management, motivation, identification of

problems, my priorities which further leads to improve my overall performance and productivity.
Learning style
With the help of this module, I am able to gain insight regarding the concept of various
learning styles and its relationship with effective learning as they impact directly on my
performance level in a positive manner. Along with this, I am able to understand regarding the
styles that is visual learning which mainly emphasize on attaining data through site, auditory
learning that focuses on learning through hearing. Furthermore, I gain insight related to different
elements of decision making that includes aspects such as fillers and thinkers, judging and
perceiving and so on. Furthermore, I am able to broaden my knowledge regarding social
orientation that consists introverts and extroverts along with their particular characteristics.
Critical reading
This specific module assisted me to emphasize on the significance of critical reading.
Along with this, I was able to gain insight about the concept of different responses to text such as
description along with interpretation and many more. It also helped me to learn techniques which
are important for critical reading that is writing, Previewing, summarizing, responding and so on.
Moreover, this module allowed me to identify the key problems and evaluate strength along with
some other alternatives.
Note taking
With the help of this module, I am able to gain understanding regarding note taking
strategies and how I can implement them to gain effective and detailed information on the
particular topic. This also helped me in improving my overall performance and productivity in
taking notes. This module assisted me to decide whether I should typing or I can write along with

some suitable formats. On the other hand, I faced various challenges is such as organizing the
notes, summarizing key points systematically that are important in order to develop an effective
and understandable nodes which further fulfill the intended purpose.
PowerPoint presentation
In this module, I am able to understand about how to develop an attractive and
interesting presentation for the audience so that its objective can be fulfilled. Along with this I
am able to gain insight regarding how to develop a systematic and structured presentation. I
learned about how to keep the presentation more suitable and avoid boredom which further
ensures achievement of objective associated to delivering the presentation. Furthermore, it also
assisted me to evaluate the key points such as the duration of the presentation along with its
significance of body language. In the last, I am able to gain understanding about significance of
tone while presenting information and its importance on the audiences as well.
Plagiarism
It is one of the important aspect that has great assistant in academic and professional
context. Along with this, it allowed me to gain importance of plagiarism due to which I am able
to collect more credible and valid information. Throughout the module, I was able to understand
how I can avoid plagiarism by effective paraphrasing or by understanding the particular topic in
an appropriate manner. Furthermore, it allows me to understand various types of plagiarism that
is self plagiarism which negatively impact on the overall quality of work.

Referencing skills
With the help of this module, I am able to gain understand about concept and
significance of referencing and how it impact on the overall work develop that is essential in
order to demonstrate effective academic ability. Along with this, I am able to understand about
how to develop more valid and credible information. This assist me in attaining a higher sense of
accomplishment and ensure that the author receives necessary information for their work.
Furthermore, it is analyzed by me that providing information in a correct manner will help me to
gain better results and develop my work more credible and effective.
Research skills
This module helped me to gain the ability to conduct an effective research and fulfill the
objective behind conducting the study. Along with this, it allowed me to gain understand
regarding how to provide valuable and effective data associated to the work. Apart from this, I
learned various research skills such as data collection, data analysis, data interpretation and many
more which further helped me in my future to conduct studies in more effective and appropriate
manner. Furthermore, I was able to understand regarding research scope within the development
of work which is filled with data and that can be perceived in a structured manner.
SWOT
With the help of this module, I am able to gain knowledge regarding conducting personal
SWOT analysis and its importance in order to make improvements. It is crucial for me to gain
understanding so that I can develop strategies in order to deal with my weakness and overcome
with the issues. It is analyzed by me that I need to work on my performance in relation to my
academics. I am able to understand different opportunities that can be gained by me If I work
upon my strength and reduce the level of my weaknesses. Apart from this, I am able to evaluate
the threats associated which may hamper my academic and professional development and

results. It is determined by me that personal SWIT analysis help me to deal with the challenges
and gain better results in future.
Formal writing
In this module, I was able to learn regarding how to provide work in more structured and
formal manner which will further assist me in my academic and professional development. In the
module of formal writing, I was able to learn that I required utilize nouns rather of sentences as
well as verbs as it make my work more effective and formal in presenting. It also helped me to
convey my ideas and opinions in an effective and optimal manner. Apart from this, this module
allowed me to improve my writing skills that will further lead to improvement in productivity of
my working.
