Task 1: Reflective statement about performance
Introduction
Reflection on the skills required and present are helpful in developing an in-depth
concept of personal learning and potentiality. Success at university level can be
achieved with logical reflection about the skills and the vision of an individual. Self-
improvement for knowledge and creativity development is important and requires
analysis of present performance and potential so that knowledge and creativity can be
duly integrated with individual performance.
Importance of self-improvement
Self-improvement is critical in improving knowledge and skill for achieving success at
university level. In order to enhance self-learning and creativity, one needs to hone skills
of critical thinking, logical reasoning, and accept changes. Adaptation with the changing
needs and addressing the development of brain functioning facilitate knowledge
development and creativity generation. As per the opinion of Deveci and Ayish (2017,
p.282), lifelong learning and critical thinking are crucial in developing skills appropriate
for knowledge development and obtaining knowledge to become successful. Moreover,
goal-oriented practices are essential in self-improvement.
Through the performance in group presentation, I was able to coordinate with the
members, however, the management of stress during the presentation was lacking.
Confidence and coordination are two main factors in delivering presentations for making
a successful project. Therefore, I need to work on stress management skills to deliver
better performances. Nevertheless, self-improvement can help in personal growth and
achieving self-actualisation to motivate for obtaining skills for better performances.
Gaining inner motivation through facilitating personal growth, one can achieve the
desired goals effectively.

Relevant areas for improvement
Self-improvement requires basic skill development for better communication and
management of resources to achieve self-awareness and enhance personal strengths. I
am concerned with the skill development that ensures success in university through
knowledge development and enhancing creativity. As opined by Costa and Steffgen
(2015, p.26), personal skill development is essential to achieve the required skills. In
accordance with this, I have managed to think that overcoming weaknesses and work
on my strengths can help in enhancing the skills and turning the threats into
opportunities.
However, I also considered stepping out from the comfort zone to work for advancing
knowledge, which is critical in reducing skill stagnancy. In my opinion, the foremost
important thing is to improve mental health to support knowledge development and skill
enhancement. With the support of McClelland and Tominey (2016, p.45), I understand
that self-regulation in skill development and management such as skills of self-
awareness, study skills, management of resources and developing better interpersonal
skills are key to success as scholar.
Learning development with new information
Analysing the academic performance and delivery of presentations are essential in
academic advancement. In this context, skills and performance level are to be analysed
and evaluated to understand the requirement of skill and knowledge development to
gain success. The challenge presented the understanding of the issues related to
deficiency in knowledge, confidence and time utilisation. Moreover, I have come to an
understanding that performance at university level requires creative knowledge to deal
with issues during the performance.
For instance, the queries after the presentation were not previously prepared and
required creative understanding to deal with them, while maintaining the focus on the
subject. As supported by Brakke, Guillory and Patterson (2019, p.5), I am forced to
comprehend the importance of strategic learning and implementation of them in
knowledge enhancement. In addition, incorporation of innovative ideas and making the
performance creative paves the path for advancement and standing out from the rest.

Therefore, I need to consider strategic management of time, knowledge and team
support for achieving desired goals.
Interesting matters of the learning and its future implications
During the presentation, the collaborative learning and team performance were
interesting and the incorporation of knowledge from different perspectives of similar
subject helps in easy understanding and knowledge development on it. Further, the
different point of views of the same information provided me with the knowledge that
critical understanding is effective in defining similar concept with a wide variety of
knowledge. Further, the skills to achieve success irrespective of changes in the
educational environment are eventually the skill of adaptation. The open-mindedness is
essential for gaining the scope of application of knowledge obtained from the subject
learned (as supported by Luft and Roughley, 2016, p.4). Critical thinking and creative
way of representing the knowledge ensures learning enhancement and confidence,
which can act as a motivational factor in achieving success for university students.
Reflection on the learning and its implications
Through the presentation curriculum, I have come to the understanding that team
performance can only become successful with the collaborative approach of each
member of the team. Moreover, this ensures the knowledge incorporation that also
provides control over self-improvement and developing positive thinking to transform
thinking pattern for target achievement and schedule management. Further, I have
comprehended the importance of self-improvement to alter perspective of personal
growth and life career as a coping mechanism against the stress at university level
(supported by Oliveira et al. 2016, p.85). Therefore, in my opinion, the management of
skills and enthusiastic perception for lifelong learning can help in gaining superiority
over the challenges and implement new strategies for achievement of goals.
Nevertheless, skills for management of time and maintaining confidence can help in
improving the scope towards success and growth.

Conclusion
As a concluding remark, it can be stated that the reflection of personal skills and
performance is essential in delivering the understanding of the present situation. In
addition, this helps in analysing the skill development opportunities for achieving the
target. In order to maintain high knowledge standard and incorporate creativity, self-
learning is a good option as it supports to hone the present skill and develop skills to
strengthen the present talent.
