INTRODUCTION
Tourism is an important part in the country through which economy can significantly
develop. In various aspect such as economic development, employment, enhance beauty and
infrastructure of country, tourism helps country. Thus, it can be said that in order to develop
national economy of country, tourism have great role and importance. Urban tourism is type of
tourism activity which takes place in an urban space with its inherent attributes. It includes non-
agricultural based economy such as trade and services, manufacturing, administration,
transportation etc. This activity encounters and interact with local and helps in making
investment due to projection of the positive image. Urban tourism is also known as city tourism.
It refers to multiple tourist activities which is organised within the city. It is a set of tourist
resource and activities that are located in the town and cities.
In the present investigation, scholar main aim is to understand the significance of Urban
tourism activities in development of London city. Researcher have designed several objectives
regarding urban tourism development which helps in identifying the ways to achieve determined
aim. In addition to this, various methods of research methodology have been also applied by

Significance of the study
The current investigation main aim is to analyse the significance of Urban Tourism
activities in Development of London City. There are various kinds of investigation conducted on
the topic that is significance of urban tourism development. The main purpose of conducting this
investigation is to analyse the gap which is left by previous researcher regarding the research on
same topic with help of this study, scholar can easily understand the importance of urban tourism
activities in the development of London City. Several activities of Urban tourism that helps
London city in becoming most attractive place has been discussed in this research. Thus, it can

tourism is a set of tourist resources or activities located in towns and cities. Urban tourism
divided into several aspects such as converted cities, tourism historic cities, capital cities, large
historical cities, inner city area, revitalised waterfront area, industrial area etc. Urban tourism
always preferred by higher income group because in this includes expensive activities, function
and program that cannot afford by lower income group of customers. Furthermore, it has more
and more popular tourism products and its destination most probably not further than 3 hours of
flight.
Jansen-Verbeke, Vandenbroucke and Tielen, (2005) stated that in the present time, due to
changing several aspects such as technology, innovation, education, usage of internet, various
functions and activities, urban tourism has been completely changed as compare to previous.
According to the view of Maitland and Newman, (2009) Tourism has developed and improved
with help of innovation and usage of new technology. There are several kinds of changes which
has occurred in the tourism as compare to previous one. In the previous time, customer cannot
book their ticket through online mode and they have to go to physical store for collecting

information regarding the tourism destination, place, tourist product, cost, time, schedule etc. But
nowadays, customer can easily collect information regarding tourism and book their ticket with
help of internet and technology.
