Relationship Between United States
of America and China

Introduction
United States and China are locked in vicious trade battle. Over the past couple
of years, both countries imposed taxes on the goods and services being traded
across the globe, resulting in unfair trading practices and intellectual property
theft committed by China. This uncertainty is affecting business and
contemplating on the global economy. The US taxation system aims to
encourage customers to buy US-made products by contrasting the price with
imported goods. The US government has also imposed tax-related tariffs
estimated at $360bn on Chinese products, where the latter had roughly $110bn
of imposed tariffs on US products

The paradox in the US-China relations
The economic growth in China, that is rather uncontrollable, contributes in the increase
of demand and the aspiration to trade with the external world. In order to maintain this,
the country will have to accumulate power and influence. The United State government
donot have any commercial link with China. During the post-cold war, US government
failed to maintain a good trade performance as compared to China. This resulted to
terror campaigns by Afghanistan & Iran.

International negotiations and
diplomacy
China has increased its influence in the global negotiations such as the political and
environmental concerns in the 21st century. , the Chinese government managed to
maintain a low exchange rate compared to the United States. They easily encourage
investors in their different trade sectors. On the other hand, UN climate conference
was clinched in which both the nations agreed on an agreement of reducing
greenhouse emissions for 26-28% for US by 2015 and China by 2030 or earlier.

Nuclear Relations
China remains behind the competition in the nuclear energy
industry, as the US continuous to add new weapons and plans
to its arsenal in an attempt to increase its power and influence
in the region. US government is investing more in assets to
attain nuclear energy to sustain their economy.

Geopolitical ends at the Asia Pacific
region
 Both China & US countries acknowledge the importance of holding a positive
and contributing presence in the Asian continent.
 The US sustains a robust position on the Chinese entitlements on South
China Sea.
 China is considered as the main channel of communication and trade between
the country and the other regions, as it contributes to nearly half of the
reserves of the country out of trade.
 China is surrounded by both the Pacific and Indian oceans, making the country
invincible in terms of its naval powers compared to the United States.

 The US was predecessor of world wide web. The internet was developed in 1960s in
US and utilized for defense communication.
 China is infamous for undertaking practices like hacking, cyber theft, cyber terrorism
and more towards US.
 China is a growing player in the domain of cyber security. China is having most internet
users who are regulated by the state. The domestic environment of China’s internet is
greatly stated as strict.
