There is no doubt that the United States is a powerful country all over the world that has
adopted the latest technology to remain ahead in comparison of other countries. It has done its
mark in history by developing a strong economy (Rufín, Bélanger, Molina, Carter & Figueroa,
2018). In the context of social issues, it has been found that there are certain issues that are
facing by the US. It is required for the country to deal with the position with prestige and power
and set a true illustration of an ideal society in the world. One of the major social challenges in
the US is the increment of unequal opportunities; the crime is amplifying within the country in
the prison of US as prisoners are drug offenders who use or sell recreational drugs. Imprisonment
of criminals for lengthy sentences has led to three strikes law.
It has been stated by the presidential commission that ” the issue and the distress of the
America people over the drug issue which is a major problem for the nation that represented
every day in the magazines, newspaper, radio, and television. It is a major and many-faceted
issue all over America. In spite of the priority, the political leaders and the media are linked to
the concern of drug at specific points in time which are a major social issue for the US. Many
people died in the US due to overdose that gun death and car accidents combined (Sacco, 2014).
Donald Trump is the president of US that put his all effort into making good nation
without any biases. The view of trump on drug policy has moved dramatically over time. It has
been found that Trump has adopted the “drug warrior” positions. The voice of Trump has risen
for medical marijuana as he knew that most of the people are suffered from serious problems.
The drug policies have given a review at the turn of the century to give more relaxed US drug
policies. There were a number of states that look for an answer to this concern “Rehabilitation”
in contrast to “Incarceration” for drug users. There were seven states in the US that have made
the use of marijuana legal for medical use (Guardian News, 2018).
The efforts of trump are more towards maintaining good health of citizens and if he
succeeds in his determination to retract the administration act of Obama that is Affordable Care
Act, which handle health insurance of many people of America, it will hamper those looking
affordable treatment programs. The support of the president in eliminating the social issues
within the nation is huge as he focuses on a plenty of policy which is already made in order to
bring improvement (Alley, 2015). The president has focused on Drug Enforcement
Administration which is the lead agency for domestic enforcement of the controlled substance
