Article 1
Stocks market
According to (Prang & Clair, 2018) the stock investors on Tuesday had a reason to cheer
up after the US stocks rose to make this month a start of a high earning season. According to data
collected, many seemed to have improved earnings. About 20% of the companies in the stocks
market index, there have been higher expectations on their total earnings and revenue. The very
strong result generated by google parent alphabet assisted in setting the upbeat pace in stocks
market on Tuesday.
A similar event on stocks market can be dated on October 29th 1929. However, in this
event, people who had invested in stocks market had a quite different experience after the stock
prices plummeted. They who had purchased their stock on savings had little savings left while
those who used debts to invest in stocks could not pay back the debts.

Gender Equality
According to (Yeginsu, 2018), there has been a debate on equality over the issue of pay
between men and female stars in the United States. It’s claimed that men’s gender is being
appreciated more than women’s thus demand for equal treatment. A year after these issues, BBC
has seen the need for strategising on ways of closing the gender gap. Their aim is to achieve a 50
-50 split pay list for both male and female broadcasters. Although the number of men being paid
higher is more than that of the women, at least the company has included some women in the list
of the top paid broadcasters.

This event is similar to an event in the 1960s where in the US, women’s rights
movements were established. The movement was preaching and calling for equality and a sense
of identity on women. It fought against gender discriminations on work, women could enter
politics, they demanded an equal pay for all women the same way men in the same position were
being paid.
Article 3
Workers condition
According to an article by the (United States Department of labor, 2018), the report
indicated that workers have better working conditions and better benefits. Workers in the US
benefited with the provision of medical care which was rated 69% efficient for private industries
and 89% on the public sector. They are also allowed to benefit from paid leaves, vacations and
holidays as ways of showing concern on working hours. Sick leaves are also available for both
private and public organizations. Retired worker are also been served with better retirement
benefits.
On the other hand, this case can be related to a similar event carried out at 1933 through
national industrial recovery act. This initiated withdrawal of unfair working conditions, the
establishment of minimum working hours for the US bases workers and guarantee on the right of
labour to bargain collectively. (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2018)

Article 4
Agricultural overproduction
There has been an overproduction of rice in the U.S. this has been attributed by the
increased farmers practising rice farming. This has been termed as a mistake by the U.S farm
agencies since it will consequently lead to a decrease in the price for the rice. Farmers are being
advised not to overproduce. (Smith, 2018)
This event is related with one of the U.S history 1302 discussing the same issue on
agricultural overproduction. In this event, farms and factories overproduced their agricultural
products that saw the products being more than demand thus reducing the prices of the
agricultural products.
