Essay analysis
Immigration issue has become a major aspect in the social cohesion and history of USA.
There are certainly a huge gap between the government policy making and the interests of the
immigrants. As a result of that frequent protests and chaos has been faced in a random basis. An
interesting fact in this regard is related to the number of immigrants who live in US recently. As
per the Census Bureau data there are approximately 43 million immigrants in USA or 14% of the
entire population (Felter and Renwick). Based on this understanding, it can be stated that the
immigrants have a great deal of significance in the socio-cultural and political environment in
USA. The number is still growing and subsequently becoming a huge that should be handled and
resolved by the US government more effective manner.
However, the debate over the immigrant policy can be seen in case of the refugee crisis.
It is of course the refugees are comprised a major portion of US immigrants but the mostly the
US immigrants are willing to rejoin their family lived in US. Therefore, from the aspect of a
humanitarian approach the government should handle the matter more effectively rather than
detaining and harassing people predominantly. As a matter of fact, under the government of US
President Donald Trump, the immigrants fear for their rights and inevitably suffer with
