Terrorism has become a gravest problem in today’s world. With the advent of modern
scientific technologies, it has become quite difficult to crack down the overgrowing terrorist
activities throughout the world. However many counter measures have been implemented to
draw an end to these kind of heinous activities. The security of a nation does not always depend
on its armed forces. To accomplish secret missions an elite set up should be established. Keeping
up all these factors in mind, the United States of America set up an elite yet secret service unit
known as the U.S. SECRET SERVICE.
The motto of this organization is to ensure the internal security, especially this
organization is at its best in keeping an eye on the monetary transactions taking place inside the
country. Since its inception in 1865 the secret service has been providing security to the financial
system prevailing in USA (Lankford,2013) . During the initial period, to put an end to
counterfeiting this organization devoted all his effort. Later on, as the global terrorism rose at the
heights of its power, a counter-insurgency measure was needed. It is quite obvious to say that to
run a militant organization a huge capital is needed. In most of the cases it can be seen the
militant organizations arrange money in an illegal way. The main objective of this organization
is to put an end to any kind of illegal monetary transaction that can possibly fund the terrorist
groups.
Safeguarding the financial transaction system from any kind of possible threat is the
utmost aim of the secret service. So far the organization has succeeded in cracking down

monetary forgery inside the USA. After the failed attempt to assassinate the then president
William Taft, an elite force was needed to cover up the security breaches.
With the advent of latest technologies the organization has succeeded in keeping a
stringent monitoring on the illegal transactions (Mercurio,2015). Apart from securing the
transaction system this secretive organization provides security to the President and Vice-
President of the United States.
As the organization has been operating since 19th century, it has gained numerous
experiences. The company has successfully drawn up a plan that is based on the feedback
received from the previous experiences.
With an impeccably efficient network, the secret service has aims that ensure the internal
security and neutralize any possible threat to the nation. By keeping an eye on monetary forgery
the organization has succeeded in safeguarding the financial transaction system from possible
threat (Ferguson,2013). The secret service operates joint covert operations that gather
intelligence report on possible terrorist activities and other crimes like assassination, forgery etc.
By doing so the secret service has succeeded in cutting down the terrorist activities. The post
9/11 security breaches in intelligence services became a threat to the USA’s internal security
policy, however the agency has succeeded in restoring the faith bestowed upon them
(Moriarty,2017).

Monetary dealings are the best possible way to make contact with foreign insurgents and
mercenaries. Although the global leaders have taken an oath to abolish terrorism, still the there
are some security breaches that need to be rectified. Keeping a close eye on the illegal dealings,
the secret service can disrupt the capital supply chain of the terrorist organization, eventually
transforming it into a more vulnerable state.
It can be concluded that a breach in security has become a regular incident in any
country. It can be recommended to the organization that it can opt for more adoptive measure
which will incorporate foreign policy. The concept of secret service lies within its operative
system. Breaches in the system can put the country in front of serious threat.
