Part ONE
The interactive system and its users.
Interactive system is the computer system that mainly involve the communication among the
human and system. Windows computer are the primarily used by the users so that they can
interact with the system. Websites, games, portals etc are considered as the interactive system
which is designed by the software engineers so that organisation can communicate with their
users through the system. There are almost 80 to 90% of the developed computers are devoted
with the interface innovation (Hasbullah et al., 2018).
Designing of portal for the university
In the current report, a portal website is designing for the university so that students can easily
identify the information about the college or university from that portal site. This is considered as
the gateway which is designed for comprehensive and useful access of the information, process
and people. With the help of the university portal the students who want to take admission in the
university can collect the information from that portal.
The key functions covered under portal which is designed for the university
The users are presented by integrated page, page set as it cover the available channels to the
subscribers. Portal also provides the services to the users through which they can check the
details about exam, library, course materials and university email. There are some additional
channels such as- search, communication tools and containing news which are also available as
the portal to provide the information.
Usability of the portal
The main usability of the portal that is designing for the university is that it is easy to access by
any of the user and identifies the information about the university which is not so confidential.
The portal provides effortless access to the user because if software accessibility is difficulty
then the user may fail to access the system and revert to their existing system. The portal
maintains transparency among the institute and the users who wants to identify the details and

information about the college. The portal is effective because the user can access any other
activity parallel to the website through which they can save their time also.

Part TWO
The use cases
For designing the actual design all the entity present in the system are enlisted. The current portal
is a webpage that is used by both admin and the student for fetching and attaining various data
and information related to university and academics.
The admin is responsible for fetching various data in the database regarding a student and
offering
The overall system can be subdived into two class student and faculty with specific function and
activities associated for performing various tasks to get the best result (Lee, et al 2013).

Part THREE:
The usability requirements
For the usability requirement of the current portal Usability Metrics has been designed along
with qualitative evaluations for understanding and collecting various data and information
regarding the portal on the basis of efficiency, satisfaction and effectiveness. All the categories
has been supplemented through a single measure of learn ability(Bringula, 2013) . Measures for
efficiency, satisfaction and effectiveness, were effectively guided through usability standards.
Effectiveness: It is operationally defined as completeness and accuracy with which the users can
effective achieve precise goals. Measures of the effectiveness are expressed on the basis of the
task completeness and user proportions those who were involved in performing criterion.
Efficiency: This is stated as expended resources on the basis of completeness and accuracy for
achieving the users goals. The efficiency measures are expressed as:
User Percentage for task completion in specific time
The extent of user who have lost
The overall efficiency of the performing the task
The expert user performs every task for six times, for each sequence of counterbalance providing
the mean score for attaining the fastest the most suitable practicable time for completion. The
time for expert was doubled for set criterion for attaining competent performance, this will be
effective in evaluating the user’s percentage performing the task in the determined timeframe.
For measuring the lostness and efficiency of the portal, segmentation of the 5tasks was done
using Hierarchical Task Analysis. This will be effective in enabling minimum number steps
required for each task. Comparing the optimal route along with actual visited nodes, the
efficiency and lostness can be measured.
Satisfaction: This parameter is defined as autonomy from uneasiness, along with positive
attitudes towards product usage. Satisfaction was effectively measured with bespoke

questionnaire that were collected through subjective evaluations. Questionnaire has used means
scores and Likert scale for calculating every category of response for supporting the analysis for
measuring the overall performances.
Learnability: For testing learnability of current interface of the portal, all the tasks were
presented using a counterbalanced order for each experience first second, and last for equivalent
measure (Hasbullah et al 2013). When the portal was found easy to learn, than it was postulated
for its best performance.

Part FOUR:
The evaluation methodology
Participants
Participants were offered with self-selected opportunity, who effectively responded towards the
adverts posted for the Campusweb intranet of the University. Random participant were
encouraged for getting responses regarding the quetiobalire. Initial screen was for ensure
performance of the participants would not confounded through poor understanding interface and
task instructions. With the help of questionnaire for the interface the demographic data was
collected ensuring that participants are university students.
