Project
AI Summary
This project analyzes the UWA Library's project management challenges in 2005, which were characterized by poor scoping, lack of direction, and resource allocation issues. The assignment identifies Enterprise Environmental Factors (EEF) such as organizational culture, structure, and governance as critical influences on project success. The student proposes the use of SWOT analysis as a tool to assess the impact of these factors, justifying its selection based on its ability to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The analysis highlights how SWOT analysis can help the library develop strategic project planning, reverse weaknesses, maximize opportunities, and overcome threats. The project also emphasizes how SWOT analysis can assist in setting project objectives and improving the overall business and project environment within the UWA Library. The student references relevant literature to support their analysis and recommendations.

1INTEGRATED BUSINESS MANAGEMENT PROJECT
Identification of EEF of the project
The analysis of the UWA library case scenario implies that in early 2005, the projects
operated by the library were not successful and effective. The reason behind the failure was
selection of incorrect project management method. After root cause analysis of the failures it is
determined PRINCE2 project management method was best suited for success of all the future
projects.
The enterprise environmental Factors (EEF) are the internal and external environmental factor
that influences project success. EEF of the UWA library management project is organizational
culture, structure and governance. It is responsibility of the project managers to identify the
best project management method before design and conducting any project towards the expected
objectives and aims (Kerzner, 2017). For this scenario it is identified that, responsibilities of
individual’s were not defined, there was extreme negligence and unprofessionalism among the
team members and also team work was missing. The identified EEF factors “organizational
culture, structure and governance” will help the project manager to govern or assist the project
activities and choose the best project management method.
Propose a tool, technique or framework intend to use for impact analysis
In order to analyze the impact of EEF different tools, techniques and frameworks are
there. The tool proposed to analyze the impact if the enterprise environmental factor is SWOT
analysis. For analyzing the internal status of any business or project SWOT analysis technique is
the best suited because it helps to identify the strength and weaknesses (Gürel & Tat, 2017). On
the other hand the opportunities that project’s strength can give and threats that may cause due to

the internal weaknesses. With the help of SWOT analysis the reasons behind lack of team work,
lack of team support, extreme negligence and insincerity among the staffs will be identified.
Apart from that, if the aspects are improved then the different opportunities and future success
the UWA library will be able to get cam also be analyzed with the help of this tool.
Justification
There are different EEF impact analysis tools present and among those SWT analysis
tools is chosen because it has many advantages. SWOT analysis provides an accurate
information source to develop strategic project planning. It will help to build UWA library’s
strength. It not helps to increase the strength but also helps to reverse the weaknesses. It implies
that with the help of SWOT analysis whatever weaknesses will be identified will become easy
reversible for the UWA library project supervisors (Habimana, Mutambuka & Habinshuti, 2018).
It helps to maximize responses over possible opportunities and also helps to overcome the
organizational operational and functional threats. Apart from that, the UWA library management
system’s EEF related core competencies can also be identified with the help of this tool. In order
to develop any strategic project plan it is very essential to have project objectives. SWOT
analysis helps to setup project objectives (Phadermrod, Crowder & Wills, 2019). The overall
business and project environment of UWA library will be developed after impact analysis using
this tool.
