1INTEGRATED PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Change Requirement and Project Life Cycle
Change was needed in the project of UWA library because they were managing the
project without project management methods and achieved success only on few of them. Change
was required in the operation projects of UWA library because the outcomes of the project
quality varied considerably. Before the implementation of project management methodology,
projects were selected by the library for operational plan, identify the groups or the individuals
who had the responsibility to complete the project and leave responsibility on those individuals
to complete project successfully (Kiel, 2007). The main need of change in the library was to
align the organizational structures as well as processes with the priorities of the library. Change
requirement was also needed to select, the staffs, develop as well as to train them whenever
necessary. Change was also included for creating an environment where staffs supports support
each other in completing the project successfully.
After implementation of change in the operation process of the library, project sponsor of
the project was responsible to approve the objective of the projects, and was responsible for
resource allocation. With the implementation of Prince 2 in the process of operation plan, project
briefs and project mandates were to include in the project and were to discuss them in discussion
and approval was to be taken by library executive (Turner, 2016). There are staffs allocated for
the project and financial resources allocated in the projects. With the change in the library, the
operation process for the project became more scalable and the library was able to handle more
complex project with increased success rates.
