Managing the development and running of a recycling facility to facilitate the processing
of the plastic waste that is produced at UWE Frenchay Campus.
Project Initiation Plan
Business case
The main reason for developing this project plan is to manage the development as well as
run a recycling facility that helps to process the plastic waste that in produced in the undertaken
campus. The campus that is chosen for this research plan is UWE Frenchay Campus having its
main campus in UWE Bristol.
The benefits of this project is reducing the amount of waste that are sent to the land and
the incinerators. By implementing this project plan, the natural resources including minerals,
timber, as well as water can be conserved from being getting polluted. This project plan will also
increase the economic security that can tap the materials that comes from the domestic areas.
With the recycling of the waste materials, pollution can be reduced as because this project plan
includes collecting of raw materials. As this project deals with plastic recycling, the project
needs to save the energy by the process of recycling. All the valuable resources can be conserved
by recycling process that is proposed in this project plan. This project will also benefit the
workers of the manufacturing industries as because more job vacancies are created in those
industries.
The best approach that can be used for carrying out this project plan is agile methodology
of project management (Binder 2016). The agile methodology is the best suited methodology
that can be used in project as because this project is an iterative method as well as follows

incremental way of managing the project. The agile methodology is a particular type of process
that satisfies the demands as well as provides solutions that evolve via collaborative effort that
helps in self organizing as well as includes teams that are cross-functional along with their
customers. This agile methodology improves the inadequacies in the waterfall model. The agile
methodology that is used for this project meets demand of high competitive as well as includes
constant movement in the industry.
The agile methodology used in this project management will stems all the values as well
as principles that are included in the Agile Manifesto. This methodology promotes iteration for
developing the project and includes testing process and quality assurance process in the project
(Kerzner 2017). The agile methodology provides flexibility to the developer of the project. The
activities in the agile methodology are divided in to sprints that helps the developers to carry the
project more smoothly. The agile methodology used in conducting this project plan includes four
values as well as includes 12 main key principles. The values that are included in the agile
approach are:
1. There should be individual as well as interaction in the project processes as well as in
project tools.
2. The software that is being working should have comprehensive documentation.
3. There should be customer collaboration in the project over the contact negotiation.
4. Respond should be given for changing the plan of the project.

The main scope of this project is to provide a detailed plan schedule that will help to

centers. The project scope also analyze the risks assessment that are carried out for carrying out
this project. The project also aims in completing the project within a certain project time
schedule and budget schedule.
Project Deliverables
The project deliverables that are to be delivered in this project are the work breakdown
structure of the project that defines the tasks that are needed for conducting as well as managing
