INTRODUCTION
The learning style is defined as the different pattern which assist the person in providing
direction for effective learning to the person who wants to learn new and different things. These
learning styles can be defined as the different set of factors and attitude which facilitate proper
and effective learning for an individual. The present report will discuss the VARK learning style
and how the different learning styles are associated with VARK. In addition to this at the end
some of the recommendation will be provided in order to assist teacher in creating their own
lesson using suitable VARK technique.
MAIN BODY
VARK and learning style associated with VARK
Learning styles are the most popular concept in the education field and are intended to
identify how people can learn in the best manner (Covaci, 2019). The VARK model is a kind of
learning style that illustrates that there are majorly four kinds of learners i.e. visual, auditory,
reading and kinaesthetic. Although there are various ways to categorize learning styles, but
VARK model is one of the most favourite and effective models to analyse the learners.
According to this model, the learners has been identified on the basis of their preferences in
order to learn something which are:
Visual learning: This particular type of learning is with the help of visual pictures such as
pictures, film and diagrams in order to give in-depth knowledge about a particular topic
or task.
Auditory learning: This includes learning with the help of music, discussion and lectures
which helps the learners to able to enhance their cognition with the involvement of
audible actions whichever is the system is i.e. either through verbal discussion or lectures
were given by teachers.
Reading and writing: With the involvement of writing and reading habits, one is able to
learn effectively as preparation of to-do lists before doing tasks, reading various
textbooks, making notes are some activities which enhance the knowledge part within the
individuals.
Kinaesthetic learning: With the involvement of movements, experiments and hand-on
activities, the learners are able to learn the activities or tasks in an appropriate manner

which can give an advantage in their future terms while doing their work within the
organization or workplace.
The learning styles associated with VARK learning style are to be used in effective and
efficient manner so that the knowledge and information can be shared in effective and efficient
manner. Hence, for the success of the learning it is essential that the person makes the effective
use of the learning style associated with VARK. The major learning style associated with VARK
involves the following-
Visual learners- these are the student who are best at learning and synthesizing the
information which is presented in the form of graphic depiction. This involves the teacher
or tutor presenting all the information with help of the visual presentation with help of
meaningful symbol and other visual aids and assistance (4 different learning style you
should know: the VARK model, 2021). This visual presentation may involve the use of the
symbols, charts, diagrams and other type of visual presentation and this just not involve
the focus on the presentation like photographs and videos only.
Auditory learners- this involve the type of learning which involves the focus on hearing
the content which needs to be learnt and not the visual of depicture presentation. This
involves spreading and sharing the learning with help of the voce that is by speaking.
Many a time the visual presentation does not have option of making notes during the
presentation. This is pertaining to the fact that presentation goes in speed and there are
chances that student miss some important points. Hence, because of this the auditory
learning style is assistive as in this the people share the information by speaking. This
method is more clear than the presentation. This is particularly because of the reason that
in the presentation limited content is being presented but when the auditory method is
used then this involves the activity of speaking and with help of this person is able to
understand the concept in more clear and effective manner.
Reading or writing learner- this is the third style of learning under the VARK model
wherein the major focus is on the reading and writing form of learning. This is pertaining
to the fact that it is possible that the person is not able to remember what is being spoken
by the tutor and there is possibility that they do not remember is in future as there is no
evidence of that information or the knowledge being shared (Medina, García and Olguín,
2018). Hence, this method of reading and writing will be helpful to the learner in learning

the essential content in effective and efficient manner. This reading and learning style is
assistive as this can be helpful in making and using the information in the future as well
and can be used in the future as well. this style of learning involves both written
information that is presented within the class in form of presentation (Stojanova and
et.al., 2017). In addition to this, this written content can be used in future at any time and
is helpful for the student in learning and remembering in effective and efficient manner.
Kinaesthetic learner- this involves the learners which are participatory that is who needs
to take physically active role within the learning process in order to attain the educational
objectives. These are also referred to as the ‘tactile learners’ because they engage
themselves to all of their senses in the process of learning. This is pertaining to the fact
that when the learner goes for this style of learning then then they find learning much
better and effective. On the other side as these people are more active in nature the
kinaesthetic learner often has difficulty as time succeeding the conventional classroom
setting. Many of the people have found success while making the use and encouraging
the kinaesthetic learners by utilising the flashcards for different types of subject and
memorizing the learning and experience (Amaniyan and et.al., 2020).
Recommendation to help teachers create their own lesson suiting VARK learning style
The use of VARK model is very helpful for the tutors in order to increase the learning
level of the students. Hence, there is requirement of recommendation to the teacher for
improvement in order to create their own learning lesson with help of the VARK learning style.
These recommendations are as follows-
The first and foremost thing recommended to the teacher is to analyse and know the
various style of learning which can be used in the class. This is essential for the reason
that there are many different styles of leadership under the VARK model and for this it is
essential that tutor analyse which style will suit the most. The major reason underlying
this fact is that if tutor goes for reading style but the student prefers the auditory style
then the learning will be hampered to a great extent (Mirza and Khurshid, 2020).
In addition to this it is also recommended to the teachers that they must ensure that the
students are in position of understating the content and learning in better and effective
manner. This is particularly because of the reason that it is not necessary that a single
style of learning is suitable for all the student. Hence, it is the duty of the tutor or the

teacher to make a good combination of different learning styles so that they can share the
information and learning in effective and efficient manner to all the student present in the
class.
Along with this, it is advisable to the teacher that they must let the student work at their
own pace and must use a multisensory approach. this is particularly because of the reason
that when the students are not forced to learn with any particularly style then they will
learn in more effective and efficient manner (da Silva, Bilessimo and da Silva, 2020).
This is particularly because of the reason that when the student is forced to use any
particular style then their interest decreases and they do not wish to learn the concept
anymore. Hence, for this it is suggested to the teacher that they make use of the
multisensory approach that is involving different types of styles of learning in particular
and effective manner.
CONCLUSION
In the end it is concluded that learning style is being defined as the style of learning
which is selected by the tutor in order to make the student learn the different concepts. This is
very essential for the tutor to select the best style of learning for the student which will help the
tutor in making the student learn in better and effective manner. From the above discussion it
was viewed that VARK is a good learning style which aims at providing learning with assistance
of the different types of learning styles. These styles involved the four different style of learning
that is visual, auditory, read/ write and the kinaesthetic style of learning. The present report
discussed the four styles of learning and how it is useful to the tutor in making the learning much
better.
