Article one by Kendra Cherry: Overview of VARK Learning Styles
The article by Kendra Cherry published on April 06, 2018 is basically giving the
overview of VARK type of learning. Through the article, I am able to understand that VARK
learning skills are so important in the field of education and psychology. The article tries to bring
out the concept of how people learn in the best way. Through the article analysis I am able to get
the concept of four terms such as Visual learners; Auditory, Reading/writing, and Kinesthetic
learners (Cherry, 2018). Through the application of qualitative and quantitative research method,
I have been able to understand the fact that Neil Fleming's VARK model of learning represents

the most form of the teaching presentation. The model was developed by Fleming since the year
1987 for the purpose of helping the students on basic facts about learning individually by use of
the VARK model of learning (Prithishkumar & Michael, 2014). Focusing on the model as
presented by Fleming, the learners identify themselves in the basis of whether they have the
visual form of learning such as movies, diagrams, auditory, pictures, music, discussion, reading
and writing as well as kinesthetic which involves the experiments, hands-on activities, and
movements (Cherry, 2018).
The article helps me understand the concept of the VARK model of learning through the
way Fleming came up with the Self-report inventory which response to the certain type of the
physical learning skills. Through the concept of the article, I am able to understand visual
learning models by seeing the graphics presented inform of the charts, handouts, illustrations,
diagrams and videos which are basic helping learning tools for the visual learners. Through the
analysis of the concept presented in the article, I am able to understand the topic of study through
learning the validity part of the VARK model and the learning theories. VARK remains the most
popular model of study on the basis of the fact that many learners have found it easy to use and
understand especially Visual and Auditory models (Cherry, 2018).
Article 2 by Jacqui Murray: The VARK Model of Teaching Strategies.
The article by Jacqui Murray published in 2018 gives the meaning of the VARK by first
defining its concepts. She tries to show up how the model is so important and exciting. Through
the information presented by the author of the article, VARK learning models at first started as a
form of a Questionnaire for the purpose of helping the students as well as the teachers to have the
best understanding of their learning approach (Murray, 2018). The approach has become one of
the most helping guidelines in regard to learning and teaching. She gives the factual meaning of
the VARK as Visual, Reading/Writing, Auditory and Kinesthetic form of the teaching strategies.
In her presentation, she suggests that the visual strategies of learning are mostly used in class
work. But the fact that they are all of equal important they can be applied mutually for a better
understanding of the students and learners (Othman & Amiruddin, 2010). The teaching can be
done by application of the four models for the purpose of making the students have a fast and
easy understanding of learning concepts especially the complex ones. The article brings the fact

that through the application of the models illustrated, the students are able to be influenced
significantly in their learning behavior. By use of the models, the students are able to understand
the modality preferences in their level of understanding.
The article helps me understand the concept of the VARK model of learning through
feeding me with information regarding the application of the educational idea on learning style
which is endorsed by more than 95% of the learners. Through the VARK model, I am able to
understand the information presented in maps, charts, audio, email, text words, reports, practice,
and stimulation. The article helps me understand the topic of study through the way it gives fine
details regarding each content word presented in the VARL models of study.
