Assessment 1 Part B
1-1) Scope management planning
Scope of the work
Project background
This project explores a scope and schedule management plan developed for maintaining
and facilitating vehicles in the corporate. The maintenance features are similar to the small scale
buildings. The scope and cost of the project are fixed. The site selected for facilitating the
maintenance program is city street, industrial park. The current slope present in the site is
minimal and in order to finish the work no large amount of excavation would be required. A
large parking lot would be created to allow the vehicle parking easier and moving them
throughout the service period. For handling the pickups of light weight vans and trucks the
vehicle service area is designed.
Other related services are also part of the maintenance facility are vehicle lifts, oil and
lubes, coolant and air conditioning equipments, electrical power outlets, pneumatic power outlets
and gas fire heating units as well. The above mentioned facilities are already available and in
order to give the maintenance program a lift the other facilities that the project manager will
include to the service include FRRS footing, backfill foundation of the walls, proper structuring
and enveloping, office interior design and office exterior design. After the completion of all
installations the landscaping and final site work will be completed.

Project objectives
To complete the work by 7 months within as estimated budget of $1.162, 366
To complete the complete the interior and exterior office work
To complete the final site work as per the client expectation
List of specific project goals
The building is comprises of two different areas such as high bay space for vehicle
services and an office and training area. Both the spaces consists CMY walls with concrete floors
and steel joist roof structure as well. The goals of the project are to develop an accurate project
management plan and complete the entire work in estimated time and cost as well. After that
foundation will be done. Proper structuring and enveloping is also required to erect roll up the
door frames. The car parking base has to be created appropriately to make sure that all the
operations and vehicle maintenance functionalities are running all well. Air condition process is
also needed to be maintained accurately.
The main goal of the project is to complete the interior and exterior office work
successfully within net budget and time estimated by the project manager.
The budget estimated for the project is $1.162, 366. Therefore, another goal of the
project is to complete the project in that estimated amount of budget.
Overall, the project needs to incorporate all expected facilities that may process
the office, training and office area better than current.

Deliverables
The project deliverables include the processes that are involved in the project activities
and the results that will simply generate from the project. For different projects the deliverables
are also different. Therefore, project deliverable can be a big one alike objectives. The project
deliverable is nothing but the output expected. In order to get expected outputs resources, data
are the other important thing must be considered. Before the project delivers what expected
some documents that are essential to present to the project manager by the team include project
status report, variance report and the timesheet report as well. The status report for the project
will be presented to the project manager with an interval of 1 month i.e. competition of
respectively 25%, 50% and 75% completion of the project. Based on the status report specific
changes, that the project needs will be identified. After that variance report is the other thing
must be delivered by the project team associates to their manager. It is not every time possible
that the project budget and time will be same as the early estimation. Variance report is the other
report has to be delivered to the project manager.
In this report the project manager will come to know the difference that has been
occurred between the actual cost and time with the planned cost and time. The other important
report is the timesheet report which represents the date of submission and whether it was delay or
before time. If delay occurred, then the other activities are again rearranged and rescheduled
based on available cost and resources. The project deliverables also mention the quality,
communication and resources to be considered by the project manager and team for the
successful delivery of the vehicle maintenance facility. Each project development activity,
respective communication plan and quality management plan those are to be considered are also
elaborated in the deliverable report.

Timely accomplishment of the project will set up the erosion control and mobilize the
general conditions items. It will also deliver all the foundations activities like FRRS service pit
footing and pit walls. It will also deliver the U/G plumbing and U/G electric conduits n the office
area. The service bay operational facilities would also be completed after the successful
development of the system and services. The interior and exterior of office area will also be
successfully delivered if the planning is successfully followed and maintained throughout the
project development life cycle.
The service bay will be completely delivered in the assigned budget and timeline. Other
deliverable of the project is to complete the service bay installations accurately. The proper
completion of the project will deliver the final work site consists of installed concrete pad, gate,
masonry walls and bollards. The controlled AC service will also be delivered with the successful
completion of the project.
Constraints
Project constraints are also defined as limitations or boundaries to project that restrict the
project manager and team to keep the project within that assigned timeline and budget only. In
other words, any project is always surrounded by limitations and risks that are required to be
taken into account as well as addressed to ensure ultimate success of project.
For the vehicle maintenance facility project also triple project constraints are selected in
terms of time, scope and budget. It is duty of the project manager and other team associates to
complete the work in assigned timeline and budget to avoid issues like over running budget,
resource over allocation of time etc. If all these measures are successfully measured and
maintained thoroughly then the project will be identified as a successful one. The three primary

constraints identified for this vehicle maintenance facility project time, scope and budget are
again interconnected to each other. If the scope documented at the early project development
stage is changed then the time and budget will be negatively impacted. The three constraints for
the project are elaborated in the below section:
Scope: The scope of the project is to develop an ultimate vehicle maintenance facility for
the site located in city street industry park area. The location is comprises of an office, training
and car parking lot area. In order to handle the light weight van and truck pickups the new
vehicle area will be designed. The main scope of the project is to divided into small parts in
terms of project management, initial site work, foundation, structuring and enveloping, office
area interior work, service bays, final site work and project closeout. Each of the work package
is again comprises of different activities.
Time constraint: Besides scope time is another important constraint that has been
considered for the vehicle maintenance project. The total time that has been expected the project
would take to complete the above mentioned activities are 7 months. It is duty of the project
manager and other associates to arrange the work packages based on their complexity and
priorities. Complex project activities would require time more than the general activities.
However, once the time will be estimated it becomes their responsibility t complete that specific
activity within the assigned time only without any sort of delay.
Cost constraints: The nature of the project is complex and size of the project is medium
Based on its complexity and nature the total budget that has been estimated for the project is
$1.162, 366. Human and physical resources are assigned for each project development activities.
Therefore, it is duty of the project manager and other associates to estimate the cost at the early

stage of project development. For final confirmation the project manager also need to conduct a
feasibility analysis to make sure that the budget is accurate and not running beyond the
expectation.
Assumptions
Project assumptions for the project are as follows:
It is assumed that the project is developed through experience and high level data
collected from different resources. It is also assumed that, potential risks and communication
plan is considered at the initial stage. The risk management techniques are quality management
plan are also estimated at the project deliverables. Apart from that, it is also assumed that
stakeholders have validated the project deliverables and activities.
