CONTRIBUTION OF VENUE MANAGEMENT PROCESSES TOWARDS REVENUE GENERATION
Introduction
The Sports Council in Darebin laid out a strategic direction towards renewal of sports infrastructure and
is working towards developing Leisure Strategies for 2010-2020. This would contribute towards
renovation of pavilions that are mainly raised for conducting sports and games. The Council works
towards holding a range of huge investments for building various sports ground pavilions as well as
construction of building stock that would help to sustain needs of various sports communities. The
current discussion takes into account promotion of pavilion upgrades that would prove to be sustainable
for the environment. This would help to generate more grounds for revenue and maximize the current
operational settings. The discussion takes into account various resources as well as standards for
amenities that are to be taken under consideration while renovating structure as well as design of sports
venues.
Discussion
1. Explanation of Four Components for development and renewing
infrastructure
Classification of sports venue is done in order to accommodate vast playing surface, establish
buffer zones as well as infrastructure that would be built in order to suite the requirement of
entertainment for a large number of individuals.
Well standards to be maintained that would be able to support infrastructure requirements and
various other responsibilities to be undertaken for providing good facilities like building of
concrete base, well-pitched grounds so that it becomes easy for the side of players and
spectators (Schulenkorf, 2017)..
On prioritizing development of sports as well as the pavilions and constant renovation of sports
equipment by utilizing modern technology would help the players as it reduce their investment of
energy and they would also get equipped with practicing and improve their score card during
matches. A high quality standard for sports infrastructure can be enabled through filling up gaps
associated with sports infrastructure, improvements through programming of capital
requirements, better ways of management of sports games as well as communities.
Maintaining standards towards development of components of pavilion and constant refurnishing
them would help to improve qualities towards recreation facilities. Through enabling these,
provision of quality standards is made that would also help to identify requirements towards
contribution by user groups and also provide sustainability towards environment (Getz & Page,
2016).

3. Assistance of good management practises towards supporting
basic amenities
a) Good practices towards asset management can help in taking care of various
amenities:
Various designs associated with sustainability of environment are required to be
incorporated into infrastructure of sports venues that would also suite
environmental strategies as well as targets. Up gradation of pavilions, promotion
of components that would prove to be sustainable for the environment, reducing
turfs over the playing ground, promotion of components of ESD and creation of
urban designs that would prove to be suitable to reduce chances for waterlogging
(Fried, 2015). Improved practises towards irrigation and recycling water would
prevent additional wastage of water.
Certain responsibilities have been provided to sporting clubs so that they can
provide coach box, cricket wicket made out of synthetic material so that additional
requirement to sports infrastructure can be easily met (Masterman, 2014).
b) Different amenities and assistance towards them
Dimensions designed out for oval/pitch shape of field- Synthetic pitch grounds
are paved with popping creases that would render faster bowling speed
Floodlighting of Turf field –It can be facilitated through proper grounding facilities
and laying of inundation overlays associated with floods (Hadiji, Sifa, Drachen,
Thurau, Kersting&Bauckhage, 2014).
Fencing boundaries of playing areas- Those portions of playing field that is
called by the name of piste is usually levelled properly and those are made
possible through drawing a centre background across entire lines.
Goal posts- They are required to be made out of aluminium however if steel is
used then they are required to be taken care of and paint work has to be
designed on it in order to sustain any damage or get a blurred appearance.
Track especially designed for sportsperson and athletics- Installation of Regupol
Tracksand maintaining them clearly, scrubbing them down and remaining
proactive would increase longevity of tracks.
c) Aim of Darebin Council while undertaking various infrastructure policies:
Identify and judge various benefits that would help in development of community
pavilions that could be used for multiple purposes like rationalising of various
building stocks (O’Riordan&Fairbrass, 2014).
It is necessary to identify various adequacies for those existing pavilions and care
is taken so that various projected as well as current necessities of recreation and
