Federal Health Care Essay
The Veterans Administration is normally a benefactor and not a financer of healthcare amenities.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (commonly abbreviated as VA) is by stature obliged to
deliver VA-enrolled veterans with access to eminence and promptly medicinal care (Harrison &
Ogniewski, 2005). It does so by the state’s leading cohesive healthcare delivery scheme. Among
veterans registered in Veterans Administration health care, most live in rural or highly rustic
regions. Related to metropolitan veterans, countryside veterans are more prone to corporeal
disorder, greater health care needs and lower health-related quality of life (Trynosky, 2014).
Biloxi Veterans Administration Health Centre
This is a health center located in Mississippi and in relation to improving its quality it has a
patient’s portal where all information and data about a patient is stored. Its reporting is done
through a news portal and has further formed an events portal where all events are
communicated to the interested parties prior to their happenings. A new patient is also given an
opportunity of finding his or her own doctor of choice by filling in some information that allows
filtering and matching of a patient to a doctor.
The benefits accompanying this are that a patient can establish a personal relationship with its
doctor (Choudhry, Fletcher, & Soumerai, 2005). One is also in the limelight of events of the
hospital and with their extended working hours, a patient can access their services at
convenience including setting up an appointment online with one’s doctor. It has also provided
its location and contact information on its web page thus allowing its patients to access the
nearest available clinics in cases of emergency (Kellermann, & Jones, 2013).

This is among the biggest VA medical hubs in the country. It is a two hospital with one situated
in Little Rock and the other in North Little Rock (Belote, Fulton, & Brooks, 2012). It reaches out
to veterans through its community-based outpatient treatment centers. It is widely recognized in
emergency preparedness, research, education and for a tradition of quality and caring for its
veterans.
It is however also praised for its core value guiding principles to all its employees which are
advocacy, commitment, respect, integrity and excellence. Its mission is to honor American
veterans by providing excellent health care that progresses their health which they maximize on.
This too has provided its contact and location information for ease of access on its web page.
Veterans Administration Medical Centre, WACO
It is located in Texas and it started its operation in 1932. It was one of the first Veteran
Administration facilities to have an approved residency program and was the only one entirely
devoted to the treatment of mental illnesses. WACO brags of quality care and efficient services
despite being among the founders of VA and the oldest. It should however be noted that this
facility also has a branch that takes care of the veterans pets. Indeed this is considered an
achievement for most facilities lack this.
Oklahoma City VA Health Care System
This facility emphasizes on the importance of emergency to the extent of urging their veterans
never to delay an emergency. It is also a home to thousands of the homeless veterans. It offers
affordable care act, gives federal benefits to the veterans and their dependents besides offering
professional training programs. It also allows for online bookings and offers both its location and
contact information for feedback purposes.
