INTRODUCTION
Social policy is considered as a major strategic framework which helps in development of
society. Social policy is defined as a key approach developed by government in order to achieve
social objectives and goals (Carey, 2021) . The social policy is developed by government in
order to help and support weaker sections of the society. In order to develop social policy
government must take into consideration development of plans and policies which are suitable
for the citizens. Social policy also helps a country to develop key approach in performing
different types of welfare for the society related to social development. Social policy is the major
priority of government of United Kingdom to achieve prosperous and stable growth. The key
function of society should be on understanding the approach of government and support its steps
by remaining loyal. In order to develop social aspects of a country, it is important for the
government to take into consideration key goals and objectives. In the recent times, government
of different countries are involved in development of social policy according to social and
economic conditions in order to perform effective development. With the help and support of
social policy, society gets large number of benefits. In the British social society, Collectivism
prioritizes group cohesion over individual pursuits, and it sees long-term relationships as
essential since it promotes group goals. The concept of collectivism focuses on freedom of
human beings as well as makes concern about their independence. The individualist approach
helps the British Social Society to make freedom based approach which is beneficial for overall
development.
As Benjamin Disraeli once said” Power has only one duty- to secure the social welfare
of the people”.The welfare ideologies are considered as major approaches which helps in the
welfare of society as a whole. This is major responsibility of government to develop welfare
ideologies in order to increase major approach in helping large number of people in the society.
The policy making process should include citizen's well being as a major priority in order to
develop the country. Government includes welfare approach formulation and key ideologies
which are supporting citizens well being (Crisp, 2021). The policy makers should develop a
major planning and strategic framework in order to perform welfare of citizens. It is major role
of policy makers to identify loopholes in the society and develop policies and plans accordingly.
The policy making process of United Kingdom's government should be ethical and transparent in
order to develop a major and precise approach. Welfare ideologies of government should be

developed according to the needs and wants of society to formulate key approach in decision
making. The main aim of this assignment is to focus on aims and scope of of work in the
voluntary organisation. This project also includes a brief description of social problems and
challenges faced by United Kingdom.

The voluntary organisation selected in this section is Victim support which is always
ready to help victims. The Victim Support is an independent charity based organisation which
helps people who suffers from any crime. It is crucial role of Victim Support organisation to
develop key and effective ways of serving the society in a needy situation. The Victim support
organisation is mainly independent from police. This organisation states that people should not
report to police for the crime in order to get help (Garrett, 2019). The Victim Support
organisation provides 24*7 support helpline to facilitate victims of domestic violence. It is also a
major role of the organisation to develop effectiveness in working by developing professionalism
in its approach. The Victim support organisation has formulated I Matter programme in order to
support the people who suffer from domestic abuse. The people and citizens of country can also
take advice of Victim Support organisations in personal and family matters. The Victim Support
is an independent charity dedicated to supporting victims of crime and traumatic incidents in
England and Wales. The main aim of Victim Support organisation is to provide specialised help
to different people in order to set them back to their normal lifestyle.
Victim Support within United Kingdom conducts campaigns in order to generate the
awareness among the people of the country. The respective organisation uses a wide number of
advertising and promoting strategies such as social media platforms, offline and online
advertising, digital marketing for the purpose of creating awareness among the people within the
nation (Hirsch, 2020). There are different social media platforms that are used by the respective
business and some of them are You Tube, Instagram, Facebook . With the help of these social
media platforms, the organisation aware the people regarding how it helps in the situations when
a person do crime. The organisation has also published its content on the websites about the
process in which it provide assistance in the circumstances of the crime. When the respective

organisation conducts campaigns of helping in the situations of crime, then it enhances the
quality of life of all the citizens and gives long-term advantages to the organisation (Jolly and
Lind, 2021). Through this way Victim Support can gain the competitive benefits over its
competitors within the market place.
The Victim Support organisation also performs campaigning in order to do welfare of
whole society. This is also one of the major role of government to support campaigning of
Victim Support organisation in order to develop a key and ethical approach. The pressure groups
are also beneficial in campaigning of Victim Support organisation (Land and Lewis, 2018).
Pressure Groups create and increase awareness about most of the services provided by the
organisation. The campaigning by Victim support organisation also helps in increasing
awareness related to key social issues which are supportive in management of key aspects. This
is also one of the crucial role of public to take campaigning by the Victim support in a positive
manner. The Victim Support organisation should also take into consideration development of
planning and strategic frameworks which are important for facilitating awareness. The Victim
support organisation should also take donations from government and other institutions. The
social issues should be majorly highlighted in the campaigning and public must be provided with
genuine information related to crimes. It is major role of the public to spread awareness to each
other about concerned social matters. The government of United Kingdom, must be supportive to
the voluntary organisations (O’Connell and Brannen, 2019). All major countries in the world
should focus on providing Victim support to the citizens. The support of pressure groups will
increase the chances of less victims and they should also support key parameters of social
development. The strategic and policy based framework used by pressure groups is also helpful
and supportive for citizens to get proper justice.

The document includes a brief description of a major social problem, which is domestic
violence. The document describes domestic violence as a specific incident which is related to
coercive, threatening behaviour or abuse between the people of age over 16. The domestic
violence is generally practised between partners who have intimate relationship or between the
family members. Violence against women and girls also create a major social issue for the
government of UK. In the criminal justice system last year 92% cases were filed by male and

83% were filed by female as recorded by Crown Prosecution Services. In England and Wales
crime survey, around 1.9 Million adults experienced domestic abuse in the past year. In the year
2017, there was an announcement made by government which proposed a bill for the solution of
domestic abuse” Define domestic abuse in law. Every year more than one million domestic
abuse crimes and incidents come to the attention of the police and almost 100,000 cases go
through the criminal courts (Roos, 2019). Victim support and domestic abuse adopts
consideration of domestic abuse and their services are set to comply with different types of
partnership strategies aimed at combating and to minimise violence against women and girls.
The domestic abuse must be stopped immediately in order to focus on social development.
Fundamental rights and their implementation should be increased by a business in order to
develop ethical approach in citizen welfare.

This document states different barriers to justice process and also identify why people
who suffer from domestic abuse and violence. The main reasons why people don't file
complaints include concerns related to police and crime justice system, perpetrator, children and
social services and community barriers. There are 52% people in the country who feel that
pressure from perpetrator as a major barrier in filing complaint against domestic abuse and
violence. The police of country should be more polite and humble to the citizens and develop an
ethical approach in serving the society. People of United Kingdom should feel free to contact
police in case of any uncertainty (Smith, 2018). The document also suggests that it is most
crucial role of government to take into consideration welfare of citizens in order to provide them
best services and assurance. In order to protect the citizens from domestic violence, it is crucial
for the police to consider citizens as their major clients. The Justice system of United kingdom
must also maintain transparency in order to provide fair justice to the public. This is also a key
role of government to change laws and bring different bills to resolve issues related to domestic
violence. Women safety must be the important priority of government and it should bring

From the above stated report it can be concluded that social policy plays an important
role in growth of weaker sections of society. This project concludes the role of social
organisations in order to facilitate development of whole society which is helpless. The above
mentioned report concludes the significance of policy makers in order to develop fruitful policy
for the citizens. This assignments concludes the effectiveness and efficiency of welfare
ideologies developed by government in order to support economic and social welfare. This
project concludes advantages of social well-being for a country. The project concludes role
played by a voluntary organisation in understanding needs of society and perform different
operations accordingly. In the era of stiff competition between government of different
countries, it is crucial for the society to demand for justice and safety. The main aim of
government should be to develop effective ways of achieving stability in implementation of key
policies and plans. Government should focus and put a key emphasis on policy making and set
up a supervision and control to achieve set targets and goals. Government of United Kingdom
should also develop certain rules and regulations in order to prevent society from major social
evils. The project also concludes that key emphasis of government of a country should be on
fulfilling basic needs of society. The project concludes the importance of campaigning in
