This article concentrates on the quick and increases the rate of the ageing population
in Vietnam. It has been estimated that more than 10 per cent of the Vietnam population is
turning 60. Therefore, resulting in one-third of the overall population in Vietnam. The rise in
aged population has raised the concern and that is the reason for the proposal of two-child
policy as well as increase the age of retirement (up to 58 for female and 62 for male). These
policies were implemented as a trial version in the year 2016; however, in the initial stage of
6 months, there was an increase in the birth rate of a third child by 7.5 per cent. Thus,
resulting in the number of maternity leaves, enrolment in the education system as well as
increased in seeking health care service. Increasing retirement has also had an adverse impact
on reducing the job vacancy for the younger direction. The policymaker has found improving
the health quality will give a long term solution for encouraging economic activities suitable
to their physical ability along with the relevant skills. Improvement in the health quality of
the ageing population will encourage the younger generation for savings that can be utilised
in retirement.
The strength of the article is in easy vocabulary and created multiple opportunities for
providing solutions for the policymakers and other professionals in the perspective of the
ageing population. The article has lacked the information of any particular governmental
policy that will be implemented in the future.
