INTRODUCTION
Digital technology consist with different types of electronic equipment and application
which use various information in numeric code. In this include personal computer, auto-mobiles,
calculator, cellular telephones and digital communication process. Many of companies use
digital technologies for conducting business activities and function with smooth manner. They
undertake digital tools such as social media, interoperable system, online applications and
games, software application, cloud computing, mobile devices and productivity for managing
entire business performances in well manner (Bakker, 2011). This project is based on Violets
Home care which is family owned business in the UK. Company deals in several products
including deodorants, beauty soap or bars, lotions, body washes, hair care and facial care etc. the
assignment will enable a project management plan for analysing impact of digital technology on
business activities, marketing, accounting, operations and HR department of Violets Home care.
This will consider project management plans and its aims or objectives. It will conduct a mini-
research and analyse data for findings and accurate conclusion.
PART 1 - Evidence: Project Management Plan
Project Definition
In the project process, there is required proper coordination and control over entire
activities. It has starts and finish date of particular project so that set targets or goals can be
accomplished within time frame. There are some factors that must be undertaken during project
planning such as time, cost, resources and quality. The main purpose of this project is to
determine major impact of digital technology and its improvement within organisations so that
they can run their business functions in an effective manner (Bakker, 2011). Violets Home care
can improve various activities, communication, storage, administration, production and
distribution and many more that can be transformed or changed with the help of offering new
products from advanced technology as well.
Problem Statement
Violets Home care is personal care brand which owned by Unilever in the United
Kingdom. It manufacture various personal care products including soaps, antiperspirants /
deodorants, beauty bars, hair care, lotion/ moistures, facial care products and body wash for men

and women in international market. There are lots of competition in personal care brands such as
Vaseline, Olay Natural White, Lux, And Nivea in the market place so they always focus on
adopting new innovative ideas or technologies for producing better quality of products and
services. Violets Home care should required to consider this factor and organise some
technological management as well as implementation of strategies for surviving in competitive
environment. It will support in reducing time, costs, risks or uncertainties during business
operations. Company can also utilise its available resources to run organisational activities and
produce effective goods or services so that better outcomes can be achieved in adequate manner.
Organisation have to conduct research for identifying major issue or problems, if real then they
find its effects on the company as positives or negatives (Crane, 2016). It must be necessary to
analyse such issues for improvement of technologies. Violets Home care can gets more benefits
through advanced technologies such as online recruitment & selection, performance appraisal of
employees, and other advantages in HR department. On the other side, marketing department can
also take various benefits like increasing sales volume through online transactions or shopping so
that they can reach at potential targets customers.
Project Strategy
In this described the projects strategy for improving particular technologies that influence
the business activities of Violets Home care and achieve competitive advantages in an effective
way. It can be possible by undertaking a specific survey where Violets Home care Employees
and customers are to be engaged. In this, they collect relevant information from targeted people
for meeting particular goals or objectives of project (Matten, 2016). There is required a
questionnaire with proper formulation of questions regarding information so that adequate data
can be gathered. It is best strategy to find problems and their solution with help of conducting
research and survey as well.
Project Objectives
Aim: To determine how advancements in technology impacts the business activity of
Violets Home care.
Objective:
 To determine the impact of Social media tools on the operations of Violets Home care.
 To determine the influence of social media on activities conducted in Violets Home care
to bring improvement in promotional techniques.

Performance, Cost, and Time Objectives
The main purpose of this project is to determine the success of innovation of digital
technology method which applied by Violet home care so that they can run different business
activities in smooth manner. It is essential in achieving competitive advantages and particular
goals or objective of the organisation.
There are number of factors available which occurred during project completion and it is
necessary to consider such elements to achieve specific goals (Crane, 2016). These are also
required to deal with specific items, schedule, deadlines, material and employees as well. The
most important aspects is cost estimation which is necessary to starts a particular project. It is
essential in managing budget as well as available resources in ans appropriate manner. Project
manager have to bes ensure regarding cost reliability, specification, clarity and flexibility
because during the project any changes or challenges can be occurred. This project must be
completed within £1500 including material cost, pens, electricity, and internet. Violet home care
has to appoint a person for conducting face to face interview of customers and employees so that
they can gathered more relevant data regarding information. They can use email source for
providing information and surveys so that costs can be reduced.
The time objective set of particular project which is at least 8 months. The project's start
date is 18 March 2018 and it will end on 18 November 2018 as per the time objectives (Matten,
2016). Within time frame, researcher have to understand various factors that drive changes in the
organisation. They focus on advanced technologies and its affects on the business activities so
that they can make decisions regarding adoption of appropriate tools or techniques for running
business. During this time, project manager have to conduct research or survey for gathering
relevant and accurate data for meeting predetermined goals or objectives. They also analyse
those data to find appropriate solutions and draw conclusions as well as recommendations in
effective ways.
Deliverables
It is related with outcomes that can be revealed in the form of tangible and intangible. In
this case, the appropriate outcome can be get through conducting study as it revealed major
impact of digital technology and its improvement in positive manner.

The scope statements can be considered any goals or objectives, deadlines, time, features,
costs and many others regarding specific project. The scope of this project is to determine or
analyse impacts of advanced technology that Violet Home Care firm can gets more benefits and
achieve competitive advantages with the help of improving business performances in an efficient
manner.
Included Scope: In this represent the scope of digital technology and its impacts to run a
particular business functions or activities to gained possible outcomes (Eweje, 2012). On the
other side, it describe several ways for implementation of advanced technological innovation for
the purpose of getting positive result as well. This project will explain the action plans or various
stages for attaining objectives, time, cost.
Excluded Scope: In this considered those works which has been not included within
project such as various uncertainties or barriers that can occurred during project and researcher
may have to face.
Success Criteria
The success criteria of this project is that Violet Home Care firm can get positive result or
achieve competitive advantages with the help adopting advanced technologies and improve
busi9ness activities of function in accurate manner. This project is based on particular research
or survey for analysing employees or customers opinion towards adoption of new technologies
so that company can provide better quality of goods or services to the customers and satisfy their
desired expectations in more effective way (Turner, 2012). The success factors can be concluded
as accomplish project objectives within time frame, cost effective and many others.

can be developed in appropriates way (Turner, 2012). Researchers gathered accurate data
through survey and analyse them for finding solutions and they consider various tools, methods,
techniques for the purpose of collecting information. Company can make favourable decision
regarding adoption of new digital technology to promote business and products as well in the
marketplace. Here are some ways of collecting relevant information by carrying out a mini-
research such as:

measured regarding adoption of new advanced technologies or innovation within company.

Reflection
As per the project report,s I have learnt various things regarding digital technology that
how it can be effects on the business and helps in making entire business in more efficient way.
Digital technology support in enhancing productivity and profitability by increasing sales
volume of company's products or services. I have analysed during project that company required
to adopt best suitable strategies regarding advanced digital technology which will be beneficial
increasing awareness and crate better position among competitors. They can use social media
platform, websites, blog posts and other online marketing tools to promote products or services
in the marketplace. I learnt about Gantt chart and Work breakdowns structure as how these can
bes utilised to complete a specific project. Data collection methods helped me in increasing my
knowledge and skills which I can apply in my future career.
CONCLUSION
From the above information, it has been concluded that digital technologies play vital
role in developing firms and improve business activities to attain set targets. Violet home care
