Topic: to identify the impact of virtual learning environment on learning experience of students.
A study on UWTSD London campus.
Introduction
Background
Virtual learning is very popular nowadays. Due to covid 19 educational institutions are teaching
their students virtually. It is same like classroom teaching only and only difference is that
teachers are teaching students virtually. Students can take knowledge and can ask any doubts. It
is enhancing learning experience. As there are virtual learning method is which there is option to
listen to pre recorded videos. This report will discuss research objectives and literature review.
Further will discuss research methods and data analysis.
Aim
The aim of this investigation is to identify the impact of virtual learning environment on learning
experience of students.
Objectives:
To understand the concept of virtual learning environment.
To identify the methods of virtual learning.
To identify association between virtual learning environment and students learning
experience.
To recommend effectual strategies of virtual learning environment.
Rationale
The rationale of this report is that virtual learning environment is new topic and research has not
conducted on this. Virtual learning is new for students. Although virtual learning will enhance

Literature review
Concept of virtual learning environment
Pererva and et.al., (2020) said that virtual learning is used for learning and teaching. It is majorly
used for educational purposes. Virtual learning includes all kinds of courses which are reading
resources, online courses, other information sites etc. digital learning which also comes under
virtual learning. Teachers are using video and images so that students can understand the course
properly. Virtual learning is making learning interesting. Herrera Mosquera (2017) stated that as
technology is evolving the concept of teaching and learning is taking place with the help of
technologies. This is the modern way of learning and with this learning is happening fast and
effective. The advantage of virtual learning is that students can learn from anywhere only they
have to long on to the site. In virtual learning there are virtual classroom present and teachers and
students are at different places but they are connected virtually. It saves travelling time and
expenses. As students and teachers does not have to be on same place.
Identify the methods of virtual learning
According to Hogan and Devi, (2019) there are various methods of virtual learning.
Asynchronous online courses is one of the method. These are the self paced programs and the
learning is not time bounded which means that course can be accessed any time. As it is 24 hours
and 7 days available. Classes takes place weekly or monthly where teachers and students can
interact with each other. Students can ask their doubt in classes and get solution from teachers.
All classes gets recoded then students can access those videos in future also. Asarta and Schmidt
(2020) discussed that blended online courses is also virtual learning method. Within the semester
they have live classes many times. In order to deliver extra course material teachers uses pre
recorded lectures. There are other type of blended learning also in which students are given topic
by teacher in advance and students have to study about topic. After studying students can interact
with teachers and ask any doubts if they have.
Association between virtual learning environment and students learning experience
As per Ryan and Poole (2019) virtual learning environment is providing multiple benefits to the
students. It is helping in improving learning of the students. Teachers are using diagrams and
charts in order to make learning attractive. Its biggest advantage is that students can attend
classes from anywhere. They need not to be present in same classroom with teacher. It is easy for
teacher also as they can teach from their place. It saves travel expenses because teachers and

students did not travel. Hamutoglu and et.al., (2020) evaluated that technology plays vital role in
virtual learning. It requires computer system and good internet connection. Students can easily
ask their doubts in virtual learning classes also like they were asking in normal classes. In virtual
learning teacher create same teaching environment as in normal classroom. So that children will
feel that they are sitting in a classroom which have teacher and other students. Virtual learning
fashion has increased in covid 19. as due to lockdown children are not allowed to go to
educational institutions. So institutions have started virtual learning where students can learn
from their home.
Research methodology
Research type
There are two types of research types which are qualitative research and quantitative research. In
qualitative research type research is conducted by considering already available literature
(Hlioui, Aloui and Gargouri, 2018). In quantitative research type those data is collected which is
numerical in nature. This research is conducted using qualitative research type because virtual
learning is theoretical topic and can be effectively explained through this.
Data collection
It can be done through two method which is primary research and secondary research. Primary
research is the first hand research and is done by researcher. It is time consuming and costly but
it is considered as the pure research. Secondary research is the research which is based on
primary research. In this researchers collects primary data and then extract the data which is of
their use. This research is done using both primary and secondary research. Primary research is
conducted using questionnaire method. Secondary research is conducted through literature
review.
Sampling
It is divided into which is random sampling and non random sampling. Random sampling means
when participants are selected from whole population coincidently whereas non random
sampling is when participants are selected from particular group. This research is done using
random sampling in which 25 students will given questionnaire to fill. So 25 samples are
selected randomly.

Ethics
This research has conducted by considering all ethical aspects. Reference list is attached at the
end of the report so that it can prove that information is taken from authentic sources (Hiver and
Al-Hoorie, 2019). Consent form is made filled by the respondents so that it can show that they
are willingly participating and no one is forcing them for participation. Copyright and patented
sources are used to in the research. No modification has made in existing data and information is
used as it is.

Secondary data analysis
Impact of virtual learning environment
Virtual leaning refers to the online courses and online environment but it is one of the
broader dimension. It is a learning experience which is being enhanced by utilizing laptops,
computers and internet (Kumarm and et.al 2021). Through the technology student will learn
various new things. So the entire teaching activity take place through online in which teacher and
students are not physically present, and they remain separated but teacher provide all the
education and learning t with the help of internet. Virtual learning has been increased due to
ongoing pandemic Covid 19.
It has improved students satisfaction and engagement. Besides this, it becomes very easy
for the students to learn anything anywhere so those people who are working somewhere they
may also learn things easily. So flexibility is one of the biggest advantage of virtual learning.
Studying online teaches the students and teacher to save their valuable time. So that they
may maintain good work and study balance. Apart from this virtual learning will save cost of
students and teacher as well. Students will get more intellectual freedom and online learning will
also help the students and working people to go for higher professional courses so that they can
easily learn college degree courses. Besides this, online learning provides higher control to the
user so that they use minimum infrastructure, and students can also personalize their learning as
per their need. Apart from this, the greatest benefit of online learning is that it can make the
parent – teacher collaboration very positive and transparent.
Findings
From the above report it has been find that this report focuses on virtual learning and
providing effective teaching to the needy once and those who want to learn something. Along
with this the major importance of this report is to provide digital skills to students (Rivas and
et.al 2021). As it is one of the important now-a-days besides this it is also helpful in evaluating
the range of information.
Recommendations
It is very important for teachers to build connection with their students. As virtual learning is
new concept for students and some teachers as well. So it is important that teachers should

motivate their students to improve learning process. Teachers should explain course utility to
students and also its applicability. In online classes students fail to focus many times so teachers
should help students so that they can focus. After the end of chapter teacher should arrange fun
activity which can relax the mood of students and make their mind fresh. Teachers should
address the issues which their students are facing.
Conclusion
Through this report it can be concluded that virtual learning is new learning process in which
teachers are teaching students virtually. Various virtual learning methods are discussed in this
report. Qualitative research method is used to do this research. Through random sampling 25
students are selected. Primary and secondary research both are used to complete the research.
This research has given deep knowledge of virtual learning environment and also how it is
enhances learning process of students.
