INTRODUCTION
Virtual learning environment refers to educational technology is a digital platform which
help students to learn new things in a unique way (Torres Martín and et.al., 2021). There are
different sources and activities which is beneficial for students as they can learn new things and
enhance knowledge. The aim of report is to identify impact of virtual learning
environment(VLE) Moodle’s on student’s learning experience at the University of Wales Trinity
Saint David London Campus.
TASK
Primary research
Primary research refers to methodology which is used by researchers to collect data. The
information is gathered for the first time by using different methods such as, interview, survey,
observations. Researchers gather information for the first time by doing survey. In this study, we
have chosen survey method and questionnaire is prepared.

From the above diagram it can be seen that , out of 20 people 5 are agree that virtual learning
environment improves education. It is the best way to teach students as this develops interest
among students and helps in enhancing knowledge of children. 5 people are strongly agreed that
virtual learning improves education because people learn new things and it builds interest among
children to study. In virtual learning things are presented in unique way which is liked by
children and improves education. 5 people does not agree that virtual learning improves
education. According to them it is wastage of time and children are not learning anything.
Remaining people are strongly disagreeing that virtual learning improves education.

From the above diagram it can be seen that, 4 people agree to the question that virtual learning
increase opportunity of interaction. When teachers are teaching online then students can ask
question by writing in chat box and it is an interactive session. 6 people are strongly agree to the
statement that virtual learning increases opportunity of interaction between students and teachers.
It is the best way of learning and it increases knowledge of student. 3 people disagree that virtual
learning increases opportunity of interaction. According to them in online learning students are
not able to interact properly with teacher and not able to understand property. Online learning
does not provide opportunity of interaction and queries of students are not solved.
3. Virtual learning is more interesting than traditional method.

From the above diagram it can be concluded that, according to 8 people virtual learning is more
interesting than traditional method. The survey is being conducted of 20 people and out of that 5
people strongly agree that, virtual learning method is better than traditional method of learning. It
develops interest among children and they understand things easily with the help of pictures,
graphs, presentation etc. 3 people does not agree to this statement because according to them
traditional method is appropriate as in traditional learning students can ask question to teachers
and solve their query. Some students are having habit to understand things through face to face
teaching, so they will face problem in virtual learning. 4 people strongly disagree that virtual
learning is more interesting than traditional method because in virtual learning topics are
explained with the help of pictures or diagrams. Some students are not able to understand this, so
it is not good for them as they are not able to learn new things.
4. Do you think Virtual learning ensures effectiveness in terms of coping with missed lectures.

It can be seen from above diagram that, virtual learning ensures effectiveness in terms of coping
with missed lectures. 6 people agree to this point because with the help of virtual learning
students learn things in unique way which is better for them. Out of 20 people, 4 people stronlgy
agree that students can understand missed lectures as teachers are recording lectures. They can
understand topic afterwards by taking it from teacher. 4 people are disagree and 6 are strongly
disagree to this statement because according to them, virtual learning is not the correct way to
teach students and some of the students are having habit of understanding things by traditional
method. According to some people, virtual learning is not effective in terms of coping with
missed lectures.

From the above table and diagram it can be concluded that, virtual learning is valuable for
students. This is agreed by 10 people because through e- learning students understand things in
better way and they will not face any problem. 4 people strongly agree that virtual learning is
valuable for students because they learn many things and when topics are presented in form of
pictures or presentations then it becomes easy for children to understand topics. 2 people
disagree as according to them virtual learning waste time of students and they are not able to
understand topics. So, from the survey it is determine that most of the people think virtual
learning is valuable for students as it help in enhancing knowledge and develop some skills
which help in getting opportunities. It helps in understanding things easily and students can gain
knowledge (Phungsuk, Viriyavejakul and Ratanaolarn, 2017).
Secondary research
Secondary research means to use existing data or information which is gathered by
someone. When doing research, data can be used from already collected details and some
changes can be made. In the study, we are using information from journals, articles and
information which is already collected.
Virtual learning environment
Virtual learning environment refers to an online platform which is used for educational
purpose. This help student in learning new things and develop skills which is beneficial for their
future growth and they will get better opportunities (Pererva and et.al., 2020). VLE is a platform
where teacher explains topics in unique way which is easy for children to learn and they

understand things in better way. Virtual learning helps in increasing effectiveness of students and
build interest among them so that they can learn new things and enhance knowledge. Virtual
learning helps teachers to make plan lessons, manage administrative work, maintain record of
students’ performance, make plans for improving performance of student’s. Teachers also
provide additional material and support to children who are not able to perform well. It is
beneficial for students as they are getting opportunity to enhance knowledge and develop skills.
Virtual learning plays a crucial role in improving performance of student because there are many
ways by which teacher present topic so that children can learn it.
VLE is adopted by most of the institutions because it is easy and best way of study.
Teachers evaluate performance of every student and after that they make plans for improving
performance of children. Teachers provide better ways by which students can learn easily and
enhance their knowledge (Bogusevschi, Muntean and Muntean, 2020). VLE includes, course
syllabus, administrative information about course, relevant information is provided on notice
board, complete course for distance learning. It provides additional resources which is beneficial
for student’s in learning unique topics and for communication there are many techniques which
can be used such as, e-mail, twitter or other social media tools.
Impact of virtual learning on students
Virtual learning has both positive and negative impact on students. Virtual learning helps
students in enhancing their knowledge and better plans can be made to improve performance of
children. Virtual learning environment promotes reflection, provide better ways to increase
efficiency, accommodate needs of students and try to provide them good education so that they
can learn new things (AlMuharraqi and Toworfe, 2021). It is important to use virtual learning
techniques so that better facilities can be provided to students and they can enhance their
knowledge by learning new things. Virtual learning has positive impact on students because it
increases enthusiasm and boost morale of children. It improves readiness to learn, focus on
improving performance of student. Assessment is being done by teachers to identify that which
student is not able to understand things and they need extra classes.
Negative impact of virtual learning environment is that all the work is done through
online modes and it requires good internet connection. Sometimes, due to poor connection
students are not able to take class. There are inappropriate websites and advertisements which
distract children, online hackers and predators. These are some negative points which affect

learning of students and they are not able to concentrate on studies. It is important to provide
good services to children so that they can enhance their knowledge (Melissa Ng Lee Yen, 2020).
Assignments are given to children to identify students who need extra classes to improve their
performance.
Advantages and disadvantages of VLE
There are some advantages of virtual learning environment such as, it has flexibility,
accessibility, less investment is required. VLE is simple to manage and engage more students
because they develop interest. It is easy to understand things from pictures, presentations and
images. Virtual learning motivates students and boost their confidence to learn new topics and
attend online classes (Martín-Gutiérrez and et.al., 2017). It helps in proper compunction between
teacher and student. This is beneficial for student because they do not have to go to school and
learn things with the help of technology. Virtual learning is beneficial for teachers as they can
teach in unique and new way which is easy and simple. Virtual learning is flexible as teachers
can take class from anywhere, having good internet connection. It is easy to access and less
investment is required.
Disadvantages of Virtual learning environment is not the effective way to teach students
because children are unable to communicate with teachers and their queries are not solved. Many
children are not able to understand topic through online classes as they are used to of traditional
method of teaching. VLE requires good internet connection, if children are having poor
connection then they are not able to attend class. VLE does not offer face to face contact, this
limit opportunity for team building and students face problem. Virtual learning environment does
not provide platform where students can ask questions to teachers (Gon and Rawekar, 2017).
There are less opportunities in virtual learning environment for team building.
Ways to improve digital skills within the workplace
There are some ways to improve digital skills within the workplace are:
 Take free online courses – For improving digital skills within the workplace is to take
free online courses. This help in improving skills which is required in organisation.
During covid-19 there were many online course which is available and help in enhancing
knowledge (van Laar and et.al., 2020).
 Improve methods of communication – Another step is to improve method of
communication at the workplace. This help in improving digital skills as when employees

interact with each other than work can be done properly and there will be no issue. There
should be proper communication among employees in an organisation.
 Increase online presence – after improving method of communication, next step is to
increase online presence. This is the best way to improve digital skills at the workplace, it
increases morale of employees and they will learn new things. It is important to boost
confidence of workers.
 Provide training and ongoing support – Next step is to provide training sessions to
employees so that they can learn new things and ways to work efficiently. It is the
responsibility of managers to provide training to employees to improve their performance
and boost their confidence (Van Laar and et.al., 2017). It is important to organise training
sessions so that employees can work efficiently and did not face any problem. Measure and make improvements- Last step is to measure performance and make
improvements in plans or strategies so that goals and objectives can be accomplished. It
is the responsibility of manager to measure or evaluate performance so that training can
be provided to improve performance of employees. Workers should work efficiently and
make optimum utilisation of resources.
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion it can be concluded that, virtual learning environment is a digital
platform which help in enhancing knowledge of students and develop skills. A survey was
conducted in which some questions related to VLE were asked. Positive and negative impact of
VLE has been discussed such as, it helps in improving performance of students, develop interest
and negative points like, no face to face contact, connection problem etc. Further, some ways to
develop digital skills at the workplace like, take free online class, improve communication
method, increase online presence, provide training and measure performance has been discussed.
