The following case study is all about virtual team success and stresses, which highlights
the ongoing challenges in managing a virtual team. Virtual teaming is defined as carrying out
work with different members who are in the same geographical location (Dulebohn & Hoch,
2017). The team leader of this project is Rebecca, who is leading virtual team project with team
members from different locations Japan, Mexico, Germany, and Korea. During the call, the team
leader pointed that team members were not providing sales details. In order to tackle the
situation, the team leader used humor to lighten up their mood.
Question 2
Rebacca understood the point that even there was golden rules, she had a conversation
with each team prior to completing the team structure and related processes. In the discussion,
she even understood that Woo-jin with the Korean Colleague (Maduka et al., 2018). They
worked in strict hierarchical environment of office. It was all about clearing most of the decision
with the supervisor before sending anything.

At the time of discussion with her Colleague from Korea, they worked as a strict
environment for hierarchy of offices. There was need for clear decision with the supervisor prior
to sending it to that individual. Woo-jin also hoped that his team leader can realize that he did
not team members for approval. But Rebeca was not completely aware of this (Liao, 2017). In
the similar way, Japanese team members Kamiko was completely concerned regarding strict data
for protecting law in Japan. The team leader was not comfortable in sharing the information
regarding the sales pipeline.

Virtual team come up with different kind of hurdle in order to overcome and compare all
the in-office parts. Team members come up with bonding and a complete sense of pride, which
becomes very much difficult for developing in virtual platform (Nemiro, 2016). A complete lack
of trust among teammates helps in keeping up the end of project. Team-building and team
exercise can easily hurdle all the issues and helps in establishing a virtual connection between
the members.
Question 5
In the last few years, there has been increasing push towards the virtual team in the
workplace. Development of technology has helped the organization to expand on geographical
level. It merely helps them in working from shared location (Dulebohn & Hoch, 2017). There is
a list of ways by which virtual teams to be both effective and productive like traditional
equivalents like communication, expectation, trust creativity, and well-being.
