Vishal Farm Shop Application: UI Design, Features, and Analysis

This report presents the design and functionality of the Vishal Farm Shop application, created using Balsamiq for wireframing. The application aims to provide users with features such as product selection across categories like gifts and food, and restaurant booking. The design is based on Nielsen's heuristic principles, focusing on user-friendliness and ease of navigation. The report details the design process, feedback collection, and iterative improvements made based on user input. It also includes a comparison with a similar application, Skeltons Farm Shop, and discusses business specifications and user requirements considered during the design phase. The application incorporates features like user profile updates, special offers, and order tracking, all designed to enhance user experience and satisfaction. The final design emphasizes simplicity and clear visibility, ensuring that all key features are easily accessible to the user.

Abstract
This assignment consists of an application name Vishal Farm Shop. The main objective of this
application is providing much functionality to the clients. There are many features like a client can select
from multiple products from application. There are multiple categories of products from gifts to food and
drinks. Addition to it the application gives clients to book a restaurant using it. Balsamiq is the tool which
is used in the assignment for the designing of the wireframes of the application which is Vishal Farm
shop. This assignment is categorized into four parts for effective learning. First section consists of the
solutions given for application. Moving further the second stage consists of choosing among the greatest
design from the two designs which have been made. The growth of the design of interface has been
started and creation of the document has started after we select the design. Section third consists of
collection of feedbacks from random members of a group. Section Fourth elaborates the design of an
interface which have been analyzed according to the feedback which is been given and it further works on
feedback if feedback is relevant. Addition to it, the end design is created from the feedback provided. The
graphical user interface of application can be further improved.
Introduction
The main goal of the application is to provide the clients different functionality. There are features
embedded in the application like customer can choose from the list of items. There are different
categories which are wine, gifts, and food. Addition to it one can book restaurant from the same
application. Application consists of many features out of that many features, one is user can update their
profile by update user profile button. The application is user-friendly they can operate the application
however they like as per their convenience. For the better understanding and using the application, a user
has to sign-in in the application. If the customer is first time user than they need to sign-up (Morse,2016).
For the development of interface design, a tool name Balsamiq is been used. The design consists of
Nielsen heuristic model. There are 10 principles on which the design is based on which are as follows:
visibility of system status, match between system and real world, user freedom and control, help user
recognize, error prevention, diagnose errors, consistency, and standards, recognition rather than recall,
flexibility and efficiency of use, aesthetic and minimalistic use and help documentation. Application
consists of an option that is special offers. Apart from it, there is an option Track option which a user can
use after placing an order, they can track where the product is reached (Wang & Huang, 2015).

User interface design
The main motive of this application is to serve its users the best features that it has. This application
provides numerous options to its users for excellent user interaction, like booking a restaurant according
to their needs, the user can check different things too like ratings, facilities of that restaurant and then
book it for their use and if they want they can separately purchase food items, drink or any other thing
that might be available. The payment gateway portal is so user-friendly and after that is done the user can
easily track their orders. The GUI of this application uses the principle model of Nielsen heuristic which
is very attractive and user-friendly (Miraz, Excell & Ali, 2014).

User requirement
The Vishal Farm Shop application has a very useful and user-friendly interface which helps all the users
to navigate through the whole application even if they are using it for the very first time. This application
easily covers the user's requirements. All the options are displayed in such a way that not even a single
user finds it hard to navigate through the application. The option of updating user profile at any time is
really a very helpful option for users. The application works under their strong privacy policy and thus no
one can use it unless they sign up and make an account. The background colors keep it the simple way,
they are so calming and relaxing thus the user doesn’t get confused at any point in using the application
(Ewebarchitecture, 2016).
Justification for designing
The user interface is designed so clearly that all the key features that are required are always available
easily to the user. The color of the font that is being used is black and the background is white by which
the font clearly pops out and is clearly visible to the user making a black-white combination. Apart from
the features that every farm shop offers there are some key and unique features too like after the order has
been placed the user can easily track the order which helps the user in knowing the estimation time of
order arrival. The application can only be used once the user makes an account. Principle model of Jakob
Nielsen Heuristic is used for designing interface (Gao, Bai, Tsai, & Uehara, 2014).
Factors for application designing
The creation of this application has undertaken numerous factors like business, user requirement,
and user-friendly interface. Principle model of Nielsen Heuristic is being used to reach out to those
factors. The user requirement for the interface design for this application is to keep it as simple as
possible so that the new users don’t find it complicated and stop using it in a few moments, so it is kept
simple for the users. The background color font size and color, features alignment is all arranged by
keeping the user requirement in mind. The design of this application is founded on ten principles that are,
user freedom, help user recognize, visibility of system, application to user interaction, error
troubleshooting, efficiency for user, recognition rather than recall, error prevention, user control, help
documentation and aesthetic. There is also a feedback option provided by which the users
can clearly send their feedback on to what should be improved to make it more user-friendly (Sarkar,
Basavaraju & Puttamadappa 2016).
Discussion of similar type application Vishal Farm Shop
The application provides numerous functions like booking a restaurant according to their needs or
requirements. The user can check different things too like ratings, facilities of that restaurant and then
book it for their use and if they want they can purchase food items, drinks or any other thing that might
be needed. There is a description written for every product which gives the user a vast detail of what they
are thinking to buy and should buy. A response message is also thereafter every successful sign-up or
signs in, a dialog box appears which carries the message that you have successfully signed up or signed
in.
Skeltons Farm Shop application

Skeltons farm shop application is type of farm shop application. The application provides exclusive offers
and loyalty awards when customer purchase from the application. The shop provides fruit and vegetables
and also provide food delivery around 10 miles. The company provides fresh vegetables and fruit.

Conclusion
Successful creations of the design of Vishal Farm Shop have been completed. This report consists of a
brief description of the designing of the interface designing for the application. There is an identical farm
shop application which is been discussed named Skeltons. The assignment report discusses the business
specifications. Further, the user requirements are discussed. This report also gives us the information
about the Nielsen heuristic model.
