linked with environmental sources as it is very important to haver sustainability in environment

There are so many visitor attraction in UK and one of the major attraction is Thorpe Park which
is a theme park resort (Beritelli, Bieger and Laesser, 2014). It was basically built in 1970s on
the gravel pit which was partially flooded, so a water based theme park was created. Its major
attractions are its large water ride, roller coaster ride.
Overlapping has become an issue in tourism sector. Now, people like to go on a holidays only
during particular season. In UK, Tourists generally face an issue regarding their visit to London
Eye as they want to see events at Kensington palace. Thus due to overlapping, a tourist cannot
be present at both the places. If natural attraction be considered then Victoria park is a good
option but after visiting there people will experience that they can see the same beauty in other
parts of country as well.
There are various attractive places in UK that tourist can visit like Natural history museum,
Science Museum, Hyde Park Kensington Gardens, London eye and Kensington Palace etc. so, it
becomes necessary for government to take special care of all these places so that it does not

TASK 2
2.1 Needs and motivations of different visitor types
Need and motivation are considered as one of the most important requirement of people
which urges them to use a particular product or service. Needs helps in creating demand and
motivation helps in performing a certain activity. There are various types of visitors who come
and visit different places so they have created division for tourists and are categorised on the
basis of their nature and choice. So, organisation and government both have to understand what
customers really require and should work accordingly. But attracting tourists is not an easy task
so firstly need is generated in economy first then tourists are shown attractive places so that they
get motivated to visit other places also (Garrod and et. al., 2012). All this process is conducted
by various tourists companies. Categories in which tourists are divided are:-
1. Incentive tourist
2. Health and medical tourist
3. Business tourist
4. Education tourist
5. Adventure tourist
6. Lazier tourist
These types of tourists are different from each other and so they have different needs
also. They need to be motivated in in different ways because there reason to visit different places
is different (George, 2010). Types of tourists can be explained below:-

business related work. These types ODF travel is designed to provide motivation or
incentive to help business people become more successful.

for business purpose but start visiting to other destinations at the same time whe they get
attracted . This lead to overlap the tourist visit.
3. Education tourist:- This type of tourism is conducted to increase knowledge by visiting to
various heritage destinations which has some history connected with it. Government
should take care that these educational tourism should be a success and people should get
what they came for. Guides should always be present at such places.

Internal factor- This factor of motivation lead to satisfy an individual by fulfilling their
emotional needs by providing them good quality services.
External factor- Here, person get motivated through different number of elements which
are money etc. which can be utilised in some way.
Tourists can also be motivated by telling them benefits to visit such places and also ensure them
that there safety will be taken care off and they will get to learn something new and also the will
be able to good memories here. By using all such measures, tourists should be attracted to such
places (Gössling and et. al., 2011).

affecting the environment very much and so people related to it are affected by the same. It
consists of various socio cultural enhancements also that are helping in increasing tourists day by
day.
Basis Positive Negative
Economical By bringi9ng more and
more tourists in
country will lead to
generation of more
employment services
which help in
increasing economic
conditions.
When so many people
will come and visit
heritage places
everyday then it will
affect the quality off
place and also lots of
resources are wasted in
this so, it is kind if
negative impact that
tourism has on
economy.
Socio-Cultural When people from all

acceptable to local
people of that
destination and thus
destruction is created.
So, sometimes culture
is also a barrier.
Environmental There are various
destinations that are a
part of environment
like national parks,
wildlife etc. huge no.
of customers visit such
places every year. So,
government is
responsible to conserve
and preserve such
places so that they can
attract more and more
tourists.
Government wants that
large no. of people
should visit our tourist
destinations but how to
managwe these people
should also be taken
care off. Large no. of
tourists visit every year
but the quality of
services they receive
and also managingb so
many people also
becomes difficult and
problem is created.
Because of this many
tourists doesn't visit the
same place again.
There are some other impacts also that are created by Tourism sector are:-
1. Wear and Tear- In this case , if any damage is created to any heritage property or famous
monument then tourists can not be blamed. It is government';s responsibility to get it
fixed as soon as possible (Hartmann, 2014).
2. Overcrowding- Overcrowding is expected at places which are highly popular. This is

Management of visitors attraction is must because they are responsible for bringing more
people in business. If management is not proper then it can harm economy very badly. It can lead
to decrease in no. of tourists which will decrease revenue and also employee generation. For

people present in that society should also be consulted before taking any decision.
2. Sustainable Tourism- This theory states that tourists should be treated in such a good
way that they plan to visit the same destination again. It also includes various steps that
are taken by government to maintain heritage properties at some level (Haukeland, 2011).
3. Ecotourism- This theory represents the actions which are taking for conserving
environment. It is a responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment,
sustains well being of local people and many more aspects are covered.
4. Smart Consumer- Smart consumer is one who has the ability to identify all factors and
can take beneficial decision for themselves. It includes all those elements like providing
low cost items to customers and effective practices to sustain customers etc. smart
consumer identifies what is good for them and what is not then take appropriate decisions
(Ab Karim and Chi, 2010).
5. Ethical Tourism- Tourists who are visiting country are responsible to follow all the rules
and regulations of the tourist destination they have come. If they will follow all laws then
they will feel that there trip will be continued without any obstacles. They are not allowed
to do any activity which is considered illegal in that country.
All these theories help in supporting and motivating tourism management in various countries. If
these theories will be followed then no. of visitors will increase every year and economy will
flourish.
