Introduction
The main aim of the essay is to present an overview of the event Vivid Sydney in 2018 which
would be analyzed based on my own experiences. I would identify the three kinds of
stakeholders pertaining to the event and apply the stake holder theory accordingly in order to
conclude upon in a proper and appropriate manner. I would present various aspects of the
event Vivid Sydney of 2018 in order to capitulate upon my incredible experience with Vivid
Sydney of 2018 as far as its attracting of huge number of visitors are concerned.
Stakeholders
The three important groups of stakeholders pertaining to the event Vivid Sydney of 2018 as
per my personal observances primarily include the tourists and visitors who are the
participants of the event, the staff involved in the setting up of the event which includes the
employees and the volunteers who made tireless efforts to make the event possible and go as
planned and the government who made a considerable investment over the event on the basis
of the formulation and implementation of the relevant policies (Fassin, De Colle and
Freeman, 2017). As a result, it is implied that the stakeholder theory in this regard is
applicable.
The employees and volunteers with regard to the event Vivid Sydney of 2018 have been duly
paid their wages based on my inferences and also been rewarded in a proper and appropriate
manner as far as their payment as decided by the event managers in question are concerned
(Miles, 2017). Such volunteers and employees have played an extremely important role in the
disciplines pertaining to festival management and event management based on my personal
observances. The event has also led to the generation of opportunities related to volunteering
and employment as far as summer jobs and professional experiences for the youth are
concerned, especially the students are concerned as it was held from 25th May to 16th June in
the year 2018. As a result, it helped in the economic growth of people to a huge level as far as
the reduction of poverty and unemployment is concerned to a considerable extent. It further
implies that such an experience on part of employees and volunteers played an extremely
valuable role with regard to the gaining of professional experience is concerned as per my
views and opinions at the personal level. It is further inferred by me that anyone who is
looking for an experience during the summer whether paid or unpaid may consider the event
as a relevant opportunity for the same. The event also acts as a platform with regard to

enhancement of skills relating to public relations as well as enforcement of media rights in
addition to being an opportunity for people to improve their communication skills through
various tools and channels as per the observations made by me. It also implies the
enhancement of skills related to marketing and promotion n part of employees and volunteers
as far as campaigning and advertisement is concerned based on the inferences drawn by me.
The tourists and visitors with regard to the event Vivid Sydney of 2018 have played an
important role in the shaping up of the event in an incredible manner thereby getting their
money’s worth in an effective and efficient manner (Ketokivi and Mahoney, 2016). Since the
event involved music, I have observed that the people amongst the tourists and visitors were
provided with a wide scope and opportunity to showcase their talent pertaining to singing
various genres of music, perform various kinds of dances and play various kinds of musical
instruments. It made their visit a satisfactory one thereby being able to utilize their talent in a
proper and appropriate manner. The tourists and visitors were also presented with as huge
scope and opportunity to present their ideas as a result of their brainstorming as far as
creativity is concerned. In such aspect, there were debates. The artistic feature on part of the
tourists and visitors was also taken into account as far as the making of various kinds of
designs are concerned based on the observations made by me. Due to the attraction of a
massive number of tourists and visitors with reference to the event, the industry related to
tourism had registered a huge upsurge thereby resulting in the generation of profits to a
massive level. The event has acted as a fun-filled experience for tourists and visitors thereby
leading to the recommendation for future tourists and visitors. Many travel companies have
started to include the event as a part of their tour packages as far as discount is concerned. It
would lead to the attraction of more and more tourists from Australia and overseas during the
summers so that they can enjoy the event in addition to strolling at the beaches as per the
inferences drawn by me.
The government authorities have also played an extremely vital role with regard to the event
to be a success based on the enforcement of the policies in a proper and appropriate manner
and the investment of amount as stipulated. They have also allowed for the smooth
functioning of the proceedings of the event in an effective and efficient manner without any
kind of impediments of hindrances based on the basis regressions particularly in the form of
as red tape. As a result, it implies that the government encourages such kinds of events to
take place as observed by me. The policies formulated by the government in terms of
technology, tourism, entertainment and economy have played an extremely important role

with reference to the success of the event in a feasible manner. Additionally, the concept
relating to infrastructure has also played an important role with regard to the advancement
and development as far as the implication of better outcomes in the future are concerned
pertaining to the event based on the observations made by me. The government authorities
also ensured that the rules and regulations were being followed in a proper and appropriate
manner thereby implying the maintenance of law and order in an effective and efficient
manner. The accounting and auditing of the amount of money disbursed with regard to the
event was also performed under the supervision and control of the government authorities as
far as the taxes of the public being spent in a proper and appropriate manner is concerned. As
a result, it is imperative that the involvement of the government is necessary with respect to
the events such as Vivid Sydney as I have observed and inferred accordingly. It would help in
the welfare of the public in a proper and appropriate manner.
Conclusion
It is observed by me from the aforesaid discourse that the stakeholder theory pertaining to the
meeting of legitimate demands and expectations of various stakeholder groups has been
justified and appropriate. It is further implied form the discourse based on my reflections that
the groups of stakeholders have been catered with their expectations and needs in a proper
and appropriate manner taking account of the fact that the event Vivid Sydney has been
successful in an incredible manner. As a result, it is imperative that in the future, such kind of
events would be more successful owing their ability to pull huge number of crowds.
