3ORGANISATIONAL CHANGE IN HEALTHCARE FACILITY
Introduction
Organisational change refers to process with the help of which organization changes
the strategy, technology, structure along with the operational models (Elsmore, 2017). The
process of organizational change can be termed as continuous or it can take place over a
course of time. Technological change is indicative of the process of innovation along with
diffusion in relation to technology or the process. Technological change deals with the
invention of the technologies along with their commercialization by taking recourse to the
aspect of research along with development within an organization (Ivanaj et al., 2015).
VNRC is the name of a 264-bed facility that is instrumental in offering long term along with
complex care. It is the name of a five star facility that offers medical care of high quality
along with the rehabilitation services. The organization has registered nurses, rehabilitation
therapists along with certified nursing assistant who offers person-centred care to the
residents. This report discusses about issues that arose in the organization that made it
necessary for the organization to implement the change. The report also elaborates on the
stakeholders involved and the roles and the responsibilities of the change leader. The report
also throws light on the change model that can help in developing the strategies in the
organization. The report also identifies the barriers in relation to change and the methods that
can help in overcoming obstacles.
Issues in VNRC
VNRC is facing issues in relation to the collection of diagnostic data of the patients.
The manual process was proving to be difficult for the employees in VNRC. The tracking of
the health related data was posing to be an issue that was acting as barrier in the path of
organisation. Patient logistics was another arena that was acting like the problem within the
healthcare facility (Lozano, Nummert & Ceulemans, 2016). The outcome due to issue was

that the staff were facing problems in relation to tracking of exact location of the patients
along with the staff in the healthcare facility.
External and the internal driving forces and its effect on people
The External driving force that forced the organization to take recourse to the changes
was the technological changes in the surrounding environment. Advancements have been
brought about in the present age in the arena of technology that has acted as the external force
that has made it imperative in VNRC to make use of cloud facilities (Georgalis et al., 2015).
The internal forces that made it necessary that changes should be brought in VNRC was in
relation to cost-effectiveness and the categorization of the incoming call was acting as a
problem for the employees within that of the healthcare facility. The effect of the issues was
felt due to the fact that it was costing heavily the financial resources of the organization and
debilitating the resources of the health care facility.
Stakeholders and effect of change on them
The various stakeholders in VNRC who would be affected by the change are the
patients, providers and the payors. The patients in that of health care facility receive the care
services from the providers and thy act as beneficial customer of payors. The providers are
enquired to reduce the operational expenses and the technological change brought about in
VNRC can serve the providers (Waddell et al., 2016). The providers have to face strict
government demand that can help in improving health care and provide the common standard
within the industry. The patients need top-quality access to that of the healthcare services and
the cloud services can help the patients in getting top-quality access to that of the healthcare
services.

Role as the change leader
In the role of the change leader, I would take care of the fact that there is broad
network access that can help in the implementation of the model pertaining to cloud
computing. I would make arrangements for improving the resource pooling that can be
beneficial for the success of the organization. The data processing in that of cloud computing
model does not take place on that of the specified server but instead on that of third-party
location. I have to ensure the fact that third party location is taken recourse to by VNRC that
can help in the implementation of cloud computing within VNRC. I shall ensure the fact that
the organization has servers along with networks that can help in implementing the model of
cloud computing. The leadership theories that I would use for the implementation of the
change process is the transformational theory that can help in building the connection in
between the leader and the follower (Hottenrott, Rexhäuser & Veugelers, 2016) By making
use of the transformational theory, I would be able to inspire the people by helping the
employees of my organization in seeing the importance of the change.
Change agents for successful implementation of change and their role
The change agent that can help in the successful implementation of the change is
business software that can help in the implementation of cloud computing related services.
The change agents who can assist in the successful implementation of the change are the
software professionals who can help in the area of providing cloud based services (Chang,
Walters & Wills, 2016). Their role would be to look after aspects related to bandwidth and in
making the network connections. There would be security personnel who would be taken
recourse to within the organization who shall play the role of looking after the aspects in
relation to cyber security in the health care facility by the name of VNRS.

Change model for developing strategies
The Change Model that can help in the implementation of change within VNRC is the
Change Management Model of Lewin. It can be incorporated at VNRC that can help in the
development of the strategies. The importance of this model lie in the fact that it can help the
organization in accepting the fact that the changes would be able to benefit the organization.
It can help in revealing to the employees of the organization that they should try to resolve
uncertainty and look out for the new ways that can help in achieving things (Gutierrez,
Boukrami & Lumsden, 2015). The strategic aspects related to the implementation of cloud is
that it can help in offering on-demand computing by taking recourse to networked
application. The purpose of on-demand computing lie in the fact that it can help in scaling the
resources in an easy manner (Ooi et al., 2018). It can serve the purpose of streamlining the
key areas within the business that can bring benefits for that of the healthcare facility. It can
pave the path for enhanced security that can help in protecting the assets of the healthcare
organization. It can play an important role in the transformation of healthcare in the present
age. The people who would carry out the implementation are the cyber security personnel
along with the software professionals in the organization. They would implement cloud based
services in the organization. The actions that have to taken for the implementation of change
management are moving to that of the supplier portals with that of the quality management
dashboard (Jones et al., 2017). A cloud hosting provider should be taken recourse to by
VNRC that can help the employees in the utilization of devices along with applications.
Barriers to the change and methods of overcoming obstacles
Healthcare cloud can prove to be a boon but transitioning to that of the cloud storage
can make data exposed to that of the cloud. The data security options are not implemented
with that of cloud computing that acts like a hurdle in the path of change management in
VNRC (Cardoso, Moreira & Escudero, 2018). The barriers can be perceived in relation to

the change due to the fact that there exists lack of the aspect of trust in relation to data
security that can hinder the implementation of cloud services in VNRC.
The methods of overcoming the obstacles are that business associate agreement can
be made with that of the cloud service provider that can help in removing the barrier in
relation to change management in the organization. The encryption of the data should be
carried out in the proper manner in VNRC that can help in providing security can help in
protecting the data.
Evaluation methods for determining success of change initiative
There are certain evaluation methods that can be taken recourse to that can help in the
determination of success related to change in the health care facility called VNRC. The
organisation can measure the shadow process that can help in evaluating the cloud services of
VNRC (Kumar et al., 2016). One can gauge that there has been successful implementation of
the change in the event of demonstrating security with the help of third-party audits that can
help in ascertaining that the change implementation has been successful within VNRC.
Strategies that can help in continuous change
Hybrid cloud computation can be taken recourse to within VNRC that can help in
taking advantage of that of IT resources along with new resources that can help in
maintaining control over the organization. The public along with the private cloud can be put
together in that of a hybrid model that can help in providing flexibility to the organization
(Waddell et al., 2016). The public cloud can help the organizations in optimizing the aspect
of IT spending that can help in scaling up the on-demand resources.
Change Plan and the Organizational Mission
The organizational mission of VNRC would be to provide person-focussed care that
can help in providing unique experience to the patients. The mission of the organization

would be to provide quality measures to the patients. The cloud based services can prove to
be useful in providing a superior experience to the clients that can help in delivering quality
care to the patients.
Conclusion
Organisational change is indicative of process by taking recourse to which an
organization can change strategy, technology along with structure. VNRC is encountering
problem pertaining to the collecting of that of diagnostic data of patients. The employees of
the healthcare facility was finding it difficult to handle the manual process within the
organization. Technological changes have been brought about in the environment that is
causing the organization to bring about changes. Healthcare cloud can act as boon but it also
raises the issue of making the data exposed to the cloud. In the event of data security
measures not being implemented it can act as barrier pertaining to change management
within VNRC. Hybrid cloud computing can be used by VNRC that can take advantage of IT
resources and the innovative resources.
