Threats of SWOT analysis
SWOT analysis refers an effective strategic tool which helps companies in analysing its
situation as well as its own strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats or internal factors.
The main aim of using this tool is to improve strategy for reducing threats and increasing
opportunities. Some threats of Vodafone company are discussed as below:
High competition: There are several strong players in telecommunication sector which
increasing competition for Vodafone such as: Telefonica, BT group, AT&T and Telecom. These
biggest players and increasing competition is one of the main threat for this company as it can
decrease its sales. Penetration of competing players are increasing by which company requires to
decrease its prices (SWOT Analysis of Vodafone, 2018).
Low profit margin: It is stated that differentiation strategy of this company helped it to
the great extent initially. But from last 3-4 years competition is rapidly increasing because of
changing needs and demands of society. It is directly affecting its earned margin against the
generated revenues which is dropping for all telecom brand.
Increasing number of mobile portability: People in this modern era are using internet
to the great extent and for being in the competition, several telecom companies are making an
effective use of schemes and try to attract customers towards their products as well as influence
them to shift services. Lower cost of mobile portability is increasing this threat as customers do
not think twice before shifting their services (Phadermrod, Crowder and Wills, 2019).
So, from the above, it can be said that there are several factors which can decrease sales
of Vodafone so, it requires focusing on improving its strategies.
