INTRODUCTION
The businesses industry has been perceived by several changes and trends which possesses
substantial influence on the organizations. The business operations of an organization have
been influenced by those aspects in a certain manner. Globalization is one of the key trends
which possesses a huge influence on the functioning and operations of the organization
(Beck, 2018). A study has been conducted so that the significant insights regarding the
impact of globalization on the business functions of the organization could be attained.
Volkswagen is one of the leading automobile organizations in the world and the
globalization possesses a certain impact on them. A study is conducted which assesses the
positive economic, cultural, and ethical impacts of globalisation on operations of
Volkswagen.

P1 PROJECT AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
The study is conducted by focusing on understanding the impact of globalization in the
business operations of the organization. The trend of globalization has been increasing at a
huge level and it possesses a significant influence on the organization in improvising their
operations. Volkswagen is a multinational organization who has been carrying its operations
in different segments of the global market through globalization (Steger, 2017). A study has
been conducted in order to gain a significant understanding regarding the different impacts
of globalization on the business operations of Volkswagen.
AIM
The aim of the study is to assess the positive economic, cultural, and ethical impacts of
globalisation on the operations of Volkswagen.
OBJECTIVES
There are certain objectives which have been developed so that the aim of the study could
be achieved effectively. The study is based on three key objectives such as:
 Assess the role of globalization in the operations of Volkswagen
 Assess the effectiveness of business operations of Volkswagen due to globalization
 Assess how Volkswagen has been benefitted by the impact of globalization

P2 PROJECT MANAGEMENT PLAN
Project management is known as a process where the skills, knowledge, tools, and
techniques are applied in order to carry the project activities which help in meeting the
project requirements effectively (PMI, 2019). There are various project activities which
would be conducted in the project. A project has been conducting on assessing the positive
economic, cultural, and ethical impacts of globalisation on operations of Volkswagen.
The business operations of Volkswagen have been influenced by globalization at a
significant level. The project would be helpful in gaining understanding regarding the
required areas. There are some project strategies would be applied for meeting the required
aim and objectives (Reader, 2017). Initially, the data for the study would be collected
through the help of a literature review and survey method so that the required knowledge
could be attained. Further, the data analysis would be helpful in gaining substantial outcome
for the study.
The scope of the project - The project scopes help in understanding the aspects which are
essential to achieve in order to attain success in the project. The current project scope is
dependent on certain goals which should be achieved. The role of globalization is significant
in the organization and it assists the organization in enhancing their operations at a huge
level. In addition to this, the improvement in the business operations of Volkswagen due to
globalization would be evaluated which helps in understanding the effectiveness of
globalization (Kerzner and Kerzner, 2017). The case scenario of Volkswagen would be
helpful in understanding the aspect of globalization in the business operations of the
organization effectively.
Timescales and time management- The project would be conducted in a timescale of 15
weeks where different activities are carried. Effective time management has been carried
out in order to conduct project activities in a certain manner (Uhl and Gollenia, 2016).
Costs - The cost which would be incurred in the project is minimal but there are some minor
costs which would be required to carry the project. The cost incurred in the project is £50
which would be required for the paperwork and assembling of the project.

Quality management – The focus of quality management in the project is to ensure that the
requirements of the project are met effectively and all the required data has been collected
(PMS, 2019). There are three key aspects of quality management which should be
considered for attaining high quality such as customer satisfaction, prevention over
inspection, and continuous improvement.
Communication – There are various entities which need to be communicated during the
project. A communication plan has been developed which helps in understanding the
communication during the project effectively.

and technology risks.

P4 SMALL-SCALE RESEARCH
The project has been conducted through the help of small scale research. The small scale
research has been conducted with help of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
The application of qualitative and quantitative research methods in the project is carried
through different approaches. The qualitative research method is applied in the project
through literature review while the quantitative research method is applied with help of a
survey. The process of literature review in the project helps in collecting the secondary data
and further, the primary data is collected through the help of the survey method. In the
survey method, a questionnaire is developed in order to conduct the survey effectively. The
process of literature review and survey has been conducted as follows:
LITERATURE REVIEW
Robinet (2013) has conducted a study which helps in understanding the effect of
globalization around the world. There are various countries that used to be a key element in
vehicle production but currently, they are not even above par. The impact of globalization
on the automobile industry possesses a certain influence on different entities such as OEMs,
government, and suppliers. It had been predicted that the automobile industry would attain
a significant boost due to globalization but the outcome has not been significant (Crane et
al., 2016). The automobile companies in the countries have been focusing on conducting
their business operations through globalization which assist in managing the currency risks
and help in reaching to the consumers effectively. Still, there are certain countries which
find difficulty in accepting the globalization trend.
The countries who have adequately accept the globalization trend due to various reasons
such as scale economies, risk mitigation, logistics cost escalation, converging global
regulations, shifting end markets, and evolving trade regimes. The globalization of the
business possess a significant growth for the organization but it is essential that they
effectively avail the opportunity (Pieterse, 2015). It has been evaluated that the role of
globalization has been significant in the businesses as it provides an opportunity for the

organization in growing their business and improving their operations to attain
effectiveness.
SURVEY
The process of the survey would be conducted with help of a questionnaire. It would be
provided to 100 employees of Volkswagen so that their response regarding the globalization
could be assessed effectively. Further, the responses of the respondents have been
collected in order to assess the data.

The project was focused on positive economic, cultural, and ethical impacts of globalisation but it
deviates from the topic to some extent. The ethical impact of globalization could not be evaluated
effectively through the project as the project has been carried by considering the data protection act
but the confidentiality act was not followed adequately. It possesses a significant influence on the
project outcome of the project. Further, the changes are carried in the project in order to comply with
the act so that the ethical impact could be assessed effectively.
What have I learnt about myself this week?
The project has helped in gaining substantial understanding and knowledge regarding project
management where different activities are conducted for attaining the required outcomes. The
activities improve my skills and abilities to manage the situation and work effectively. My contribution
to the project has been satisfied yet and I want to improve my skills for gaining effectiveness. The
learning from the project would be applied in future for meeting the required goals effectively.
Tasks planned for next week
The tasks which would be conducted in the next week are data analysis and recommendations for the
project. The time which is allocated to each task in the project is sufficient and the project would be
completed in the decided time frame.
