Difference between Safeguarding and Protection
Safeguarding Protection
Safeguarding in Britain means that vulnerable
adults are being kept safe and secure from any
type of harm, abuse or neglect (Namen and
et.al., 2017). In this adults are being provided
to live in better environment so that no harm
can be given to them.
Protection to vulnerable adults means that
person who is above the age of 18 can require
help of community care because of various
problem such as mental health illness,
disability or any other. In this the vulnerable
adults are unable to take care of themselves, so
protection against any harm is been given to
them.
1.2 Evaluate the impact of policy developments on approaches to safeguarding vulnerable adults
in own service setting
Impact of policy development on safeguarding of vulnerable adults can be extensive.

themselves. In nursing care settings, they have to make sure that comprehensive policy is being
followed by staff members so that protection can be provided to patients suffering from harm,

abuse or neglect. The care act 2014 has been given by government that clear sets out the
provision to protect vulnerable from rising risk of abuse or neglect. It is also responsibility of
staff members working in clinical care setting to provide protection to these adults. For this they
can provide workers with induction training which is being set out by the CCSIV
Impact of policy statements have on the way your place of work approach safeguarding
The development of care act, 2014 has laid impact on the work places approaches which has
been adopted by nursing home in United Kingdom. At Care Home Ltd. in consideration with this
act safeguarding training is being provided to nurses and Health care professionals. It has helped
them in distinguishing between patients who are at more risk of harm. It has also enhanced
ability of care workers to interact with vulnerable adults (Rose and et.al., 2017.). By this, it
becomes really easy for them to analyse needs of vulnerable group. Safeguarding training will
assist nurses to record the instances of abuse and neglect. It will increase knowledge of staff
members and they will be able to meet legal requirements and protect vulnerable people under
clinical care.

act, 2017 lays emphasis on that vulnerable adults are being protected from any kind of mal-
treatment. Care Home Ltd. also makes sure that all documents related to safeguarding policies
are being distributed among staff members so that each member will be able to understand their
responsibility. This will assist them in providing protection to vulnerable adults from abuse or
neglect.
1.5 Explanation of the protocols and referral procedures when harm or abuse is alleged or
suspected
Protocol on sharing information in order to safeguard and promote welfare of vulnerable
adults. In this health care professional must be engaged in sharing information so that they can
identify and assess needs of vulnerable adults (Herring, 2016). It will also assist them in
providing safety to vulnerable adults suffering from neglect or abuse. Information must be shared
to those individuals with whom young adults are in contact with. Practitioners should not assume
that someone will pass on the information, if they think that data is critical they must convey it to
local authority so that protection can be provided to vulnerable adults. In nursing care home, they
must have considered the information while sharing it with someone else as this will reduce the
risk of significant harm that can be caused to vulnerable adults.
Nursing care home can make use of relevant local referral process. They can fill referral
form or even can do a telephone call to local authorities. Referrals can then be passed to local
safeguarding teams who are working to provide protection to vulnerable adults. Protocols are
being laid out in standard 6, 7, 8 and 9. Standard 6 provides that information must be shared by
health care professionals to vulnerable adults providing the methods to remain safe (Hardy and
et.al.,). Standard 7 contacts with agencies who are involved in giving protection to vulnerable
adults who are at high risk of harm.
Step by step actions to be taken at workplace
Care home Ltd. can plan several strategies in order to safeguard vulnerable adults. This
action plan can include the following steps:

on which abuse

has been made.
Safeguarding assessment strategy: Various strategy such as child
cantered care can be adopted by local authorities in order to enhance
wellbeing of vulnerable adult suffering from abuse

that wellbeing of vulnerable adults can be enhanced.

analysed.
This process must be
done within 6 months
3.2 Review the effectiveness of systems and procedures for working in partnership with other
organisations.
Working in partnership with other organization can assist Care Home Ltd. in sharing of
information related to abuse instances. Also the responsibilities to take care of vulnerable adults
will be shared. This will support both care units in enhancing wellbeing and providing vulnerable
adults protection from harm, abuse or neglect. In this additional resources can also be made
available to both care units, that can support them in increasing their service quality. But there
are also some barriers which can be faced while working in partnership like for example conflict
between sharing of resources can exist between them.
CONCLUSION
From the above study it has been analyzed that protection can be given to vulnerable adults
by providing them with better environment and making them stay away from chemical hazards.
Safeguarding means protecting vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect or harm. It has also been
analyzed from report that safeguarding training has been provided to staff members which has
assisted nursing care home in enhancing well-being of young vulnerable adults. Report has also
