RISK MANAGEMENT – RECOMMENDATION FOR WA
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to explain the effective factors that helps in focusing
while implementing the rail system between the regional centre and Perth in Western
Australia. The proposed railway system will provide better benefits towards the government
rail system. The report will address all the risks associated with the management of this plan.
The developed rail system will ensure efficient way of working (Taylor, Bogdan & DeVault,
2015). The system will include wider space, high seta backs and proper tray tables. In
addition to this the new system also offers easy accessibility for disabled persons. The report
will discuss the feasibility of the project and the data collection part in detailed. The WA
government has planned a better way of organizing the railway plan. The second part
includes the risk management plan and the recommendation that will help in enhancing the
working of the rail system.
Part 1 data collection
The aim behind developing the new rail system is to ensure that proper transportation is
provided towards the passengers travelling between the railway station regional centres and Perth.
The project is undergone by sub parts and is being funded by Western Australian Government. The
expected budget for the new system is $146 m (Tupa, Simota & Steiner, 2017). thus it is important to
ensure that all requirements are fulfilled efficiently by addressing all the risks. There are several risks
associated with the project that are needed to be addressed before implementation of the project. The
data are collected from every members associated with the new rail system. People associated with
the plan also plays a crucial role, thus it becomes important to discuss the importance of new system
along with the customers. The feedbacks achieved from customers has an efficient role to play. The
proposed system gets approved and will be implemented when every major stakeholders and key
customers associated with the project approves it. The new system main requirement is to provide

better facility towards the passengers and ensures better vision with mobility. In addition to this the
new system also includes better feature for newly born and aged people.
The aimed project includes a feasible rail system that will be approved by the government.
The aim behind developing the new rail system is to ensure that proper carriage is offered so that
proper transport can be implemented. Moreover the major stakeholders associated with the new
railway project are the customers, the railway department and the government. In addition to this
every passengers and staffs associated with the implementation needs to have a clear knowledge about
the management of the new system. The new system will ensure better facilities and quick services.
The new requirements for rail system is the need of proper system analyst ( Hillson & Murray-
Webster, 2017). This will help in analysing all the requirements and will allow proper maintenance.
After the requirements are analysed it becomes easy to develop a system properly. Apart from this the
system must have the capability of addressing the need of the passengers. Proper sensors are needed
to be installed within the trains so that it can detect any emergency condition. Apart from this every
train will have automatic door system based on sensors. The sensor will allow to detect every person
and will be operated once every passengers has entered the train. In addition to this it becomes
important to ensure that all the requirements of passengers are successfully meet.
Part 2- risks assessment
The main risks associated with the implementation of new rail system includes issues related
to social, political and financial concerns. This is important for Western Australian government to
ensure that all risks are mitigated at the time of implementation so that it does not create issues in
future. The risks implications associated with the rail has high impacts (Giannakis & Papadopoulos,
2016). There is a risk related to schedule as it becomes important to ensure that the project is
completed within the given schedule. The profits can be obtained if the project is completed with the
budget and schedule. Budget has also an important role to play. The risks are also related to budget
and design. In addition to this risks also arises when there is an improper communication. There are
also some risks associated with stakeholders. Different opinions can lead to risks as the chances of
conflicts increases. Apart from this there are chances of risks associated with transportation ( Ho et al.,

project. The technical risks that are associated with the implemented system has a critical place. This
has the potential of leading the project to failure. The chances of risks associated with project needs to
be mitigated as soon as possible so that it will reduce the impact.
