making them understand about the ways the tasks should be approached, furthermore help in
fulfilling the needs and preferences of the customers to ensure successful business functioning4.
WAES or Westminster Adult Education service, being one of the major adult colleges in
United Kingdom, has delivered the best quality part time and full time courses and qualifications
for the individuals to make them approach towards a brighter future. The students who are
admitted to the college provide necessary information so that the college authorities can access
those and make sure to select the right candidates who can avail the courses5.
Gathering and managing information
There are various data protection principles needed to be followed for keeping the
information and data provided by the students safe and secure, furthermore maintain
confidentiality. The principles do support the codes of conduct and practices for processing the
data and information along with its validation, storage in databases and retrieval. The personal
data and information must be processed only when the authenticity and validity had already been
checked. This would also prevent loss and destruction of data and ensure that those are stored in
databases and retrieved whenever necessary6. The personal information and data of the clients

should be processed by a data processor and must not disclose those unless is had been required
by law or being based upon the discharge of duty. By not complying with the data protection
acts, principles and laws, there might be discrepancies and fraud activities where the data might
be lost and it could give rise of unlawful and illegal cases. Decisions should be made by the
manager or leader based on the relevance, quality and accuracy of the available information. It is
necessary because the right information, when provided to the staffs, can make them understand
the goals properly and share their individual opinions, which results in consistent physical and
psychological health and wellbeing7.
Implementation
There are various legislations, laws, policies, practices, rules and regulations followed
while delivering the right information to the staffs for the purpose of improving their wellbeing
within the workplace. It is important to consider that the needs of the vulnerable individuals are
needed to be kept in mind and assessed for maintaining security at UK borders.
Knowledge- Legislation, policies and procedures
There are various policies and procedures implemented within the organization for
improving the health and wellbeing at the workplace. There is growing emphasis on the health

satisfaction is somehow dependent upon the health of employees and it affects the labor
productivity, quality of output and products or services delivered. The job satisfaction is related
to the training, skills development opportunities and the delegation of tasks for the employees. It
can not only influence them to make effective decisions, but will also enhance the workforce
performance through better management of skills, knowledge and power all throughout.
The Health and Safety at Work Act enables WAES to provide the staffs with safety
policy statement and even provide general information about the health and safety issues that
may be experienced at the workplace. This allows for setting health and safety objectives and
places the health and safety policies as major responsibility of the line management at WAES8.
The employees’ health and wellbeing become the topmost priority of the organization because
the business performance and profit level to be achieved is dependent on that. One of the most
effective procedure of maintaining proper health and wellbeing at workplace is the degree of
autonomy and power provided to them, based on which, they will feel much free and gain a level
of discretion to make effective business decisions. Employees should be provided with training
to become competent and handle their responsibilities accurately. Fair Work Act should be
implemented within the workplace for receiving complaints and feedbacks regarding any form of
discrimination based on race, religion, ethnicity, etc. It can prevent discrimination and foster
development of a healthy workplace culture where bullying and harassment is absent and the
wellbeing of staffs is taken care of9.

Skills- Customer services
The skills of workers should be improved for delivering the right customers’ services and
keeping hem satisfied as a whole. It mainly focuses on enhancing the quality of life through
improvement of physical and psychological wellbeing along with prevention of illnesses10. The
skills and knowledge of workers are improved by obtaining their feedbacks and responses,
furthermore manage combining the effective induction procedure for managing the terms and
conditions and ensure safety and wellbeing at the workplace. The customers’ services are
managed with the proper support of the HR manager who makes sure that the staff turnover ratio
is reduced and the clients are provided with proper services as expected from the organization’s
workers. The employer do hold the roles and responsibilities to of taking care of the needs of
people working within the organizations while the manager or leader of the organization
strengthens the level of motivation and encouragement. There are many people who suffer from
mental health illnesses irrespective of their age, race, gender or social background. It is always
important for the staffs to deliver the best services and provide relevant solutions to their queries
for improving the quality of their lives and enhance their mental health and wellbeing. Not only
do the service users face problems, but also the same happens with the employees of the
organization who spend their most of time at the workplace. The customers’ services delivered
could result in greater motivation of staffs, higher flexibility and higher retention rate too. This
should improve their psychological wellbeing as well as lead to better customer outcomes in
terms of healthier, happier and committed staffs11. The staffs should be trained for gaining

mental, analytical and creative skills for evaluating the business situation and create a logical
framework for problem solving. It will define various options for determining the cause and
effects of the problem. Based on the analysis and interpretation of information available to the
staffs, the most suitable alternative will be selected12.
Skills- Working together
The mental issues are often overcome when worked in teams and in coordination as an
unit. The partnership working helps in resolving the mental health problems and facilitates the
management of ethical decision making. Working together can be both technical and cultural,
which impacts the procedures of promoting good health through early interventions and manage
behavioral changes too to connect each other respectively. Working together at WAES implies
forming a team, which can work with the Care Quality Commission’s health and safety
wellbeing strategy and pledge to promote welfare of employees at the workplace. It helps in
sharing or exchange of information about the things to be kept in mind for managing proper
health and at the same time, seek individual views and opinions for making effective business
decisions.
Skills- Problem solving
There are various problems faced that could affect the business decision making often.
There are situations when the customers contact a number of times and ask for solutions to their
different queries frequently. This often makes the employees feel stressed and not being able to
maintain a proper health and wellbeing, which affects their performance negatively too. The

managers need to consult with the employees, obtain their ideas and opinions and make
decisions to solve the issues and ensure that the staffs are taken care of properly by providing
relevant solutions to the customers’ queries.
Behaviors- Building capacity for all
Learning and building own knowledge is essential for improving own skills, knowledge
and expertise of the staffs and make them accustomed with the ways of accessing information
with ease. They will understand the significance of improving continuously through enhanced
learning and their development needs will be assessed at regular intervals. This can create a
positive mindset among them, facilitate positive behaviors to focus on one task at a time and
ensure delivering the right services to the clients based on their needs and preferences13. It
improves the performances of staffs and business performance, which can ensure higher level of
customer satisfaction and gaining competitive advantage in business too.
Conclusion
The management of wellbeing of staffs within the workplace should ensure that the
business performance improved and the quality of lives of people had been enhanced. The main
motive behind preparing the project was to create a wellbeing application for making the staffs
gain access to relevant information about the kinds of services available in London and
worldwide, furthermore share own opinions, views, issues and problems while moving in the

right direction. It had been necessary for achieving the positive outcomes and facilitated the
skills, knowledge and expertise of the staffs within the workplace as well. It was found that by
providing them with the right messages and information, it became ease for managing the staffs
and this made them informed about the roles and responsibilities assigned to them. This would
not only enhance their performances, but could also facilitate group thinking behaviors, better
coordination of work and improvement of morale and dedication to work as well. From the
report, it was understood that not only delivery of information to the staffs and clients was
essential, but also they should be informed about the legislations, laws, rules, regulations,
policies and procedures of the organization. By following these rules, regulations, laws and
policies, it would be convenient for the staffs to communicate with each other and even maintain
a good relationship with the employer and managers. As a responsible leader of the organization,
it would be my responsibility to take care of their needs and preferences, furthermore make the
lives of people better and enhance the quality too. The staffs would learn to share their problems
and make the leader or manager of the organization find out relevant ways to overcome the
problems that they might be facing. It is always important for the leader to possess proper
interpersonal, creative thinking and decision making skills so that the tasks are completed within
the assigned time with much ease and efficiency.
There were various legislations, laws, policies and procedures required to followed by the
staffs of WAES for providing the best quality customers’ services, furthermore make them
informed about the kinds of products and services delivered. This would make them understand
whether their needs and preferences could be met or not as well as influence their buying
behaviors largely. Thus, the business performance would improve with the higher level of
commitment and dedication of employees and information accessibility should e much easier and

convenient. According to the Data Protection Act, the data and information provided to the staffs
and clients must be reliable and authentic so that customers were not neglected and provided
with wrong information about the products and services. On the other hand, the staffs must be
informed about the legislations, policies and procedures so that they could maintain high
standards of health, safety and wellbeing at all levels throughout the organization. The Data
protection principles ensure keeping the information of clients confidential and secure so that it
does not fall in wrong hands and must be kept safe from any unauthorized access. As the leader
of the organization, I would like to provide proper training programs to improve their skills,
knowledge and expertise so that it could be easy for managing the staffs. The staffs would learn
to become more competent, handle their responsibilities responsibly and at the same time,
facilitate group thinking behaviors and communicate with each other to promote teamwork,
coordination of work and prevention of discrimination within the workplace.
From the wellbeing report, it was also understood that the customer satisfaction level
increased with the delivery of better customers’ services, which should be possible once they
were provided with relevant information about the organizational values, policies and
procedures. This would improve the physical and psychological wellbeing and prioritize on the
workplace efficiency through higher level of motivation and encouragement within the
workplace. Few of the skills that should be required for promoting positive behaviors include
cognitive skills, creative thinking, interpersonal and analytical skills. It could not only solve the
problems within the workplace quite easily, but would also maintain a stable and positive work
culture within the workplace of WAES.
